Creatives On Call is a boutique placement agency that specializes in recruiting professional creatives for permanent, temporary, and freelance positions in design, advertising, marketing.
We understand the challenges of the industry, because we are the industry. We know how involved the process is for creatives to market themselves, because we are creatives. And we recognize the time constraints and managerial pressures on our clients to find the right talent fast for positions, projects, and last-minute emergencies, because we are managers.
We are completely dedicated to easing the process for our clients, both creative professionals looking for work and agencies looking for talent and ensuring happy results on both ends.

History
Established in 1995.
In 1993, Koenig was freelancing at Hallmark®. Due to corporate staffing initiatives and tax regulations, Hallmark required all creative freelancers to perform their services through a staffing agency. At the time, there were no agencies that specialized in providing creative talent and marketing professionals. Hallmark was growing and their need for creative talent was increasing. Koenig recognized Hallmark’s need and began seeking other creatives to satisfy those jobs. The staffing agency Koenig freelanced through recognized her innate abilities for finding creative, capable individuals and asked if she was interested in creating a subagency of graphic designers for them. She was interested, but her entrepreneurial spirit also recognized the opportunity at hand. So she began talking with friends and family about starting her own business. With her third child on the way, Koenig founded Creatives on Call in 1995 in a tiny old building in St. Louis, Missouri.

April is known for her years of experienced creative work and her uncanny personable talents for understanding how to make the «right match» between creatives and creative organizations — based on artistic ability, technical proficiency, and proper cultural fit. April’s passionate drive and adventurous determination has fostered customer loyalty and marketplace momentum for her as a national creative rainmaker.
She has extensive industry experience working on the artistic, production and account sides of the creative table. She has been a special-interests writer, production layout artist, graphic designer, and marketing and staffing executive for national and international organizations and ad agencies from St. Louis to Panama City, Panama.
