Steve Wymer, LPC started Connections Counseling & Consulting to serve individuals, couples and families. In addition to self referrals, many are referred by their healthplan, employee assistance program or professionals in the community.

Business Owner

Steve has an extensive background in psychiatric and substance abuse treatment, being among those who first developed modern and comfortable treatment facilities in the St. Louis area. He received a scholarship from Anheuser Busch to attend the Ohio State University Summer Institute on Alcohol Studies, and became one of the first counselors employed by Hyland Behavioral Health at St. Anthony’s Medical Center. During 10 years with Hyland, he participated in the extensive development of programs for virtually all types of psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment. This included pediatric, adolescent and adult patients. From this background, Steve went on to become a consultant with Personal Performance Consultants, a pioneering national employee assistance program now known globally as PPC Worldwide. In more recent years, he has enjoyed providing support to others through his private practice, Connections Counseling & Consulting.
