When I come home to STL I crave Chinese food, actually I leave the airport and head straight to the restaurant. Press for time I could not go to my favorite Chinese restaurant so I headed to this restaurant because I know they have good food. Anyhew, when asked could I get chopsticks they cost .25 each, then I asked for fortune cookies I had to buy a pack of 5. I’ve been eating in STL Chinese restaurants for YEARSSSSSS and have never been charged for chopsticks or fortune cookies. Needless to say I will not use this restaurant as my emergency to place again.

What can I say bad about good olé’ Chop Suey Inn… NOTHING! I have been eating here my entire life! They have the absolute best fried rice, wontons, hot & spicy chicken, fried chicken, St. Paul’s, egg rolls, etc! I think I have had everything. Everyone that I have introduced this food to has loved it! Extended family in Charlotte, Memphis, Knoxville and Nashville all love it! Everyone please give it a try! They are the best!

This is one of my favorite strip mall Chinese restaurants since when I worked over at the Walgreens across the parking lot(…in the old location for the noobs, and youngsters). The décor is a wall with a hole like the old speak easies. You order through the hole. In the day a kind Chinese man wrote your order on the outside of the paper sack that contained your order. He wrote it in Chinese. I always wondered if he wrote«Assole» on mine? Now a nice girl writes it in English. I think there is maybe 4 chairs to sit on while waiting for your little boxes of deliciousness! The fifth chair either broke over the years or was stolen. The crab rangoon is never to be missed here! It actually has tiny particles of CRAB in it. I know right! Who da thunk it? They are small lttle rectangular pouches of incredible. Each one of these tiny motivational speakers chanting ala Gregorian monks«forget the diet, order more» These are just that awesome! They have been known for thier special fried rice for ever! A trip there is not complete without this little box of specialness. Finally, the best St. Paul sandwich in the Lou. I ordered two of these beauties(judge not!). Shrimp and a Chicken St. Paul. **you now have to ask for the Mayo to be added** See they are looking out for your health, or more likely want me to spend my money preferentially here than at Walgreens! :) It is good to know that things do not always change.
