Can You Escape?

Kayla was fantastic. I both highly respect and sort of fear her. The room was really challenging, there is so much going on that you really have to communicate what you’re doing at all times. I will be back when their second room opens Feb 12^th.

This was our second room escape experience, and we had a good time. The other one we’ve done was a Sherlock Holmes themed room, and I prefer that one. I would rather have tougher clues with no threat of being eliminated than having to constantly be mindful of the zombie getting you. Though that’s a matter of preference, and tainted by the fact that I was eliminated somewhat early.
The host spoke quietly in a difficult to understand accent, but the zombie was very into her role and did great. The current success rate for the room is about 30%, and we came close, but didn’t make it. If we had another five minutes, or didn’t have so many people eliminated, we definitely would have gotten out.
Overall, we had a good time and I recommend it.

Awesome! Loved it! We all had a great time. The Zombie was funny and sarcastic but you certainly felt the pressure to solve the riddles and get out. I would highly recommend!

This was FUN! I am not a «zombie fan» and was not particularly looking forward to the added pressure, but that was my favorite part. This was my first room escape and really enjoyed it. Although we did not make it out alive, it was fun. the hour blew by! We had to work with strangers on our room, but you get to know them pretty darn quick when survival is on line. The Russian Assistant was great but the zombie was amazing. She had us fearing for our lives one minute and cracking up the next. Helpful tip, arrive on time because if you are late you are not getting in. Also the doors open 20 – 15 minutes before your start time.

Sounds cheesy, but a great adrenaline rush of fun. Definitely would recommend to others. The crazy Russian dr. Played his part very well and the zombie girl was fantastic! She was creepy, very witty, and super active. The puzzle was just challenging enough to test all individuals. We Resolved it with less than a minute left.
I would do it again

I had recently done a room escape in Omaha, so when I saw a room escape in St. Louis, I KNEW I had to check it out.
This particular room escape is available in several cities throughout the United States. The premise of this particular room escape is that you need to figure out how to get out of a room without being eaten by a zombie. In sum, you basically are trying to figure out a series of puzzles in 60 minutes in order to find the key that lets you escape the room. During this 60 minutes, a zombie (which is played by an actor or actress) is chained up. Every 5 – 10 minutes, the zombie’s chain increases, making it harder and harder to escape the zombie. If the zombie touches you, you have to stand on an X the rest of the time. You’re still allowed to verbally help, but you can no longer wander around the room trying to solve clues.
You can either get a group of individuals together to do the escape or you can join a group of strangers. My husband, sister, father, and I joined an existing group and it was a blast. We got lucky as the individuals in our group were really fun people and very collaborative. We had so much fun even though we missed escaping by one clue. The success rate for this room is currently 37%.
What I particularly loved about this escape was the woman who owns it. She was SO much fun. She was absolutely hysterical in explaining the rules. She was also helpful in providing us hints during the 60 minutes. What I especially loved was at the end she gave us a nickname and summarized our strengths based on the notes she took during the escape. Finally, I thought the zombie was also really funny during the escape. She didn’t just groan and moan, but instead made a lot of funny jokes.
In sum, definitely something you should check out. The place is kind of easy to miss so be sure to bring a GPS and arrive early! Once the escape starts, you won’t be let in!
