We recently visited to Stoney Creek for a yearly banquet. The event was wonderful and HyVee’s wait staff was fantastic as usual. Our stay with the hotel however, left much to be desired. My husband and I have stayin in this hotel many times before and have always been pleased. We booked a suite and had ample room for our weekend away. We love the amenities that come along with the suite, especially the hot tub. The bathroom however, left much to be desired. Every time the toilet flushed it made an incredibly loud and obnoxious noise. There was little to no water pressure in the shower and there was a faint smell of sewage coming from the drain. The anchors that previously held the head board into the wall had come loose, making it very loose. These were all things we were willing to overlook honestly because we have had other great experiences aside from this one. However, a trip to the pool changed our minds. The pool area was clean and spacious but the communal bathroom was absolutely disgusting! It looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. We had to lay clean towels across the floor to even step foot in the bathroom. The morning breakfast staff were rude, and several chairs in the breakfast area were too rickety to even sit on safely. We will likely stay here again because of our banquet being hosted here, however another trip like this one will definitely change our minds. Outdated is one thing but there is no excuse at all for dirty and rude!

had great photos, I was suckered in. The rooms are dated. Paper thin bedding with walls to match, I can hear my neighbors which means they can hear me.

Like a time machine into 1977. Rooms are small. No closets(a hanger for clothes.). Looks like a spot for hunters. Nothing good near hotel and town is dead.

A very enjoyable experience thus far. The room was clean and I enjoyed all the little amenities offered. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The location was easy to find from the airport and very close to the conference I am attending. There are lots of dining options very close, within walking distance(less than 1 mile). My coworker and I opted to stay here over one of the bigger hotel chains in the area. I am glad we did. I enjoy the rustic themed atmosphere and the well maintained room I stayed in. Thank you!

Room was clean and staff was friendly. The room did have some wear and tear, but overall we had a great experience!

One of the better places to stay. The rooms(at least ours) was very well taken care of. Everything was in working condition and beautiful. Yes they are a higher priced but I believe it’s beyond worth it when you see your room. Definitely recommend this hotel and actually we are going back in few months.

Very nice log cabin feel that works well. Very low lighting in room would be my only gripe. Definitely good deal.

2nd visit here — Everything was great, rooms are clean and comfortable. And I did notice a difference in the staff… much better than my first stay here.

Just got back from SCI not to bad. We usually stay at the Holiday Inn when we are in St. Joe because theres not many nice hotels to choose from but they seem to be going down the you know what… SCI was cute and clean although the room we booked online didn’t look exactly like the one we stayed in it was comfy. My daughter loved the pool because it was indoor/outdoor. The jacuzzi was nice and hot, but bring your own towels because theres a limited supply. We did have the complimentary breakfast… it was okay not to many hot food items, and the eggs were to say the least nasty. Over all it wasn’t to darn bad!

Rooms are on the small side, but very nice. Good bathroom, good bedding, decent soaps, etc. Overall establishment is nice. There are a couple of bars, but no restaurant(so no breakfast or room service). The cabin theme works. They put a $ 20 stuffed animal in each room. I imagine that is not cool if traveling with kiddos(and the thing is so totally not worth $ 20). All in all, a good place and a better option than your standard hotel chains.
