Ace Hardware

OK, The first person to review the St. Joseph, MI ACE is way off base. I’ve used this store for many of my home improvement projects and I always find the employees to be curtious and helpful, The owner is often there, and so is a store manager. I believe if you do not receive the propper customer service you should say something to the manager perhaps via a phone call, then post a review on Unilocal

It’s pretty annoying to see 1 review that slams a place and offers little to back up anything that’s said, especially in an immature review such as this mentioning «PMS». I’ve been there twice and found both experiences pleasant, and I dealt with the WOMEN both times, 3 of them, and one guy, who was rather helpful. Actually on the 2^nd visit, they were out of a product, and called me within the hour to let me know 52 would be there the next day. My experience hasn’t been detailed to say the least, but the one-​star isn’t warranted, in my opinion, based on the review itself.

This is a review for this particular store, not Ace in general. I’ve been to other Ace Hardware stores over the years, but this one is consistently terrible. Why you ask? SERVICE!
For some weird reason, the women here (not the men) are extremely rude. It’s like they’re PMSing all the time. They’re always argumentative, obnoxious and act like customers are dirt.
Unfortunately that’s the closest hardware store to my old house so I had to go there more than once and it’s always the same issue. I didn’t leave a review before because I wasn’t sure if it was this store or Ace in general. Now that I’ve had a chance to visit some other AH stores, I wanted to come back and let people know to avoid this one at all costs.
Try True Value Hardware, Lowe’s or Home Depot. Only come here if you want your eyes gouged out by crazy people.
