Haven’t been to the restaurant in a while. The décor hasn’t changed. It’s an average meal. Started the meal with baked clams & zucchini sticks. After examining the baked clams I could find no resemblance of clams, chopped or whole. The zucchini sticks were good served with marinara sauce. Followed with seafood bisque & pasta fagioli. Fagioli was flavorful, seafood bisque contained a great deal of «unknown processed seafood». Finally, ordered Chicken Mediterranean. This was tasty, yet rather saucy. All in all, for a Saturday night the place was rather empty, most patrons were primarily 60+. Might be time for the owners to re-examine the dining room

Used too frequent this place in the 80’s when I was in construction and years later the regular pizza is still consistently good and the garlic knots rock! Lots of flavor… yum! Staff is a pleasure to deal with and are very courteous and polite. Ps… they know the secret to keep customers coming back!

Love coming to this place with my husband’s family. His dad lives just down the street and we always make a point to come and stop in. Their garlic knots are delicious and come to you at the table when you order. I have never been unhappy with the pasta dishes. They have delicious red sauce, clam sauce, and and chicken parmesan. The restaurant could definitely use a face lift. The décor is old and outdated and is starting to look dingy. The food is consistently good and is a little tradition in our family, so we will keep coming back!

We love this place… the pizza is great, the heroes are very good… we love eating there and take out and delivery. The people are nice… the only thing I would say I am not wild about. is the $ 33 price for the pie with fresh mozzarella & roasted peppers. A few other local places have it and it is never more than $ 24. which is fine. We have eaten there frequently… for pizza night and I will say everything is good. just the one thing I have an issue with…

Ok, this is my 1st review on Unilocal & unfortunately it’s not a good one… After receiving our entrée’s, I was about to finish the other half of my hero when I noticed short coarse hairs where the meatball hero was cut in half. Needless to say I was horrified to think I consumed the other half with the hairs(they looked like nostril hairs to me) I promptly brought this to the attention of the young man at the counter and they sent over a young girl who was very nice. She brought me over the menu again. I honestly needed to work up the courage to place another order since I spent all day at the beach & was still famished. I ordered a chicken parm & eggplant combo plater which was $ 7 more than the meatball hero. The young waitress brought over my food and I was told I would need to pay the difference since«the dish cost much more». I never touched the dish and I was appalled that they would ask for this since my fiancé already finished her meal and especially since I already ordered my meal for the 2nd time without this disclosure. I asked for a manager but the waitress said we could either pay the $ 7 to keep the food or not accept it and we would get our money back for the original order(it was obvious she was embarrassed about her employers poor decision) I let the staff take the food away, I announced that I’ve been dining here for 24 years and this would be the last time I ever dine there again!

My wife is from St James and this is her family’s long time pizza place. Have only tried the pizza, but always thought the pizza was pretty good. However, not a place to go to get a slice on the spot. When we ordered a few slices they pulled out a pie from under the counter and the pizza tasted like it was made the day before. However if you order a pie to-go, the pizza is fresh and pretty good and tastes much better. The pepperoni is my fav though by far. Not a huge fan of the sicilian, not much flavor there.

Yo, this place be hella RADICAL. Food is rad. Garlic knots easily the BEST. The only problem I have is that I’m always standing there like a stupid idiot trying to figure out what the frickle I should order. The only problem I have with it is that the pizza I usually order is murdered to Italy with tomato sauce. But when I switched pizza with my boyfriend it was perfect? I guess it was just that slice. I recomMEND this place yo

Delicious pizza. Delicious garlic knots and bread. The staff was friendly and our waitress was awesome!!! I’ve been to quite a few restaurants on Long Island and this is one of the best. Restaurant itself was clean and had a nice, relaxing atmosphere.

Nice little pizza place way out on the island. The staff is super friendly, even put some croutons in my salad for me :-). The salad dressing was homemade and they have a few out there slices. A slice covered in salad and one with BBQ ribs on it. The restaurant needs a major make over tho, a real throwback. So don’t take anyone your trying to impress just go for some pizza in jeans. They have a ton of lunch specials for $ 8.95. Chicken parm and what not, comes with a soup and salad.

This place is a Saint James staple. We really love their pizza’s I’ve never been disappointed, my 20 something years going here. The philly cheesesteak pizza or the bacon cheeseburger pizza’s are to die for. They always have fresh ingredients and are polite and quick. I’ve read that some of their other menu items leave for improvement, but as far as pizza goes they’re elite.

Been coming here since 1980, its a iconic pizzeria in St James. Their regular pie is very good but as a huge fan of Sicilian, this is where they excel. Huge pie well balanced sauce, good crust ratio and very creamy cheese. I have had just about all their Hero’s and they are all very good, good crusty bread stuffed with generous amounts of parmigiana and sauce. Staff is friendly and prices are about average and delivery is very fast.

Delicious pizza and the fastest delivery ever! Tonight we ordered a large cheese pie and two chicken pops(chicken rolls). They were hot fresh and delicious. We’ve only ordered pizza so can’t speak to the dinners or heros but for straight up Neapolitan pizza delivered to your door you can’t go wrong with Patio pizza. And I do mean they deliver quick. I ordered at 5:45 and it was here by 6:10 on a Friday not bad!

We no longer live near Caligiuri’s, but recently when making a purchase from someone on Craigslist, we found ourselves in the area and hungry, so we decided to return. The four of us ordered some basic parmagiana heroes, and we were just as impressed as we were before when this was our go-to pizza place. We do wish they were closer, but I’m glad to see that the quality has not diminished since our last review nearly three years ago.

Patio is our family pizza place. I love the zucchini sticks, buffalo wings, grandma pizza, and most of all, baked chicken parm with stuffed shell. Very consistent. I’ve tasted a better regular pie, but not so much so that I feel like looking anywhere else. We’re very happy with Patio. We have then on speed dial.

My fam and I go to this restaurant plenty of times throughout the year. They always give you free garlic knots(So good) and bread before you order. I usually order heroes cause they are at great value, but sometimes get the specialty dishes, which are usually a hit or miss for me. My fam is a huge eggplant fan, and says they have the best, I can’t comment. The house dressing on the salad is sublime. I cant even start to describe how it tastes. i just wish they would give you more salad. Lettuce is so cheap, give me another hand-full. All-in-all, i would definitely recommend this restaurant

The pizza here is decent, but when we’ve ordered other foods they have been mediocre. Their baked ziti is nothing compared to our old favorite place in Northport, and maybe I got a «bad» batch of garlic knots when I ordered them, but they were stale and flavorless. The worst experience I’ve had here and the reason for the 2-star rating rather than a 3-star happened last week. We ordered delivery — baked ziti for the kids, chicken parm sub for my husband and eggplant parm sub for me. I started eating my sandwich and something didn’t seem right. The«eggplant» was tender but tasted strange. My husband checked the receipt(we were so hungry that we didn’t bother to look at it, but honestly, we are usually pretty trusting that we get what we order) and I had been given a veal parm sub. I do not eat veal, I never have and never thought I would. I was nearly sick to my stomach. Sure, it was all in my head and not because of the quality of the meat, but still… Needless to say, I didn’t finish my sandwich and my husband called Caligiuri’s to let them know what happened. The woman he spoke with was sincerely apologetic and credited our account for an eggplant parm with our next order, which was nice of her to do. It does make me question the competence of their staff to make such a huge error. I have worked in restaurants for many years and while I know mistakes happen, that is a pretty big one. Veal is one of those foods that when people don’t eat it, it’s usually for a reason — not because they simply don’t like it.

I hit up Caligiuri’s for the 9-millionth time last night. It is SUCH a great deal. Here’s the run-down: Me: Iced Tea(unsweetened), Seafood Bisque, Lasagna, Garlic Knots Her: Iced Tea(unsweetened), Pasta Fagioli, Garlic-Broccoli-Mushroom Whole Wheat Penne, Garlic Knots. Food is consistently good here. It’s probably 3 star good, to be sure there’s better Italian food on Long Island, but there’s no freakin way you’re gonna get as much food for so little, and there’s no way it will be as consistently good. The seafood bisque is just loaded with chunks of crab, fish, and lobster. I mean like there’s barely any cream sauce in there, it’s all protein. The lasagna is FREAKINGMASSIVE. I kid you not, I ate 1⁄3rd of it. And it tastes great. The rest is residing in my fridge at home and will be my dinner tonight, and I couldn’t be happier about that. Same thing with her pasta — lunch/dinner for later! All the above food came to less than $ 30. Insane. The garlic knots at Caligiuri’s are some of the best in Suffolk County. And you don’t even pay for them!!! Another great thing — it’s a family owned establishment and they’re good people. Many times I’d be returning home late from a work trip, and I’d call Patio Pizza and they’d stay open a few extra minutes to provide me with a phenomenal meatball parm hero, which always hits the spot. Without considering price, I’d probably drop 3-stars on them. But when you think value, those 3-stars is really 3.5 and worthy enough of a rounding-up. So four it is. Can’t wait for my next meal here.

When you want to roll big in St. James, I’m talking rolling in to a joint like 8 deep, you roll in to Caliguiri’s. I’ve been coming here for several years to get my eye-talian pasta/carby fixes satisfied. In a zoo of 4 – 5 star ratings, I’m sorry to do it Caliguiri’s but you get a solid 3.25−3.5 stars. It’s not the most authentic Italian restaurants out there, and for that it goes from 5 to 4 stars, and the«pretty decent» Angel hair a la vodka with shrimp on top we had last night, takes it from 4 to 3.5. Caliguiri’s is still a charmer, still packs out like a sardine can and will continue to do so because it’s extremely fairly priced, they STILL provide you with free/the best garlic knots you will get table side and last but not least, when your bill arrives to the table… they STILL give you one york peppermint patty for every person at the table. It’s good to see that the housing market, financial industry debacle, rising oil prices several years ago, Katrina and/or the BP/Gulf Oil Spill disaster haven’t caused Caliguiri’s to do away with these cute little touches. I really would love to give them 4 stars, but it’s a solid 3.25−3.5 and I’m still going to patronize the spot. PROTIP: Go there on Saturdays for their lunch special, make sure to order the lobster/seafood bisque(it’s GOOD) and just nosh on free garlic knots.
