I have been going here for years and love everything they have and I don’t mind paying a little extra because the quality of food is top notch. I went today and got a lg sport tea and a med size kale salad and the total was 15.50. I asked the girl why it was so much. She said that their prices of changed and that each container is a certain amount and not done by weight. This medium size container for a kale salad was $ 11.50!!! Like I said I don’t mind paying a little extra but this is just a rip off. I know that Napa Valley caters toward the tourists but this is not fair for anyone. Shame on them for ripping people off like that.

I am still not impressed by the quality of this bakery. I have visited this place a few times and I always notice flies hopping from one pastry to another… Staff are helpful though. Centrally located.

Model Bakery has some pretty fantastic English muffins, the best I’ve ever had. Try them lightly toasted with their strawberry jam and butter. It’s bliss. Perfect crisp, with a hint of sweet and salty. I didn’t get to try much else, but it’s clear just from a short visit that this place is oozing with quality. But really, do yourself a service and go for the English muffins next time you’re in St. Helena.

I stopped by for a latte and pre-made prosciutto & sweet butter baguette, but WOA. I’ll definitely come back when I’m in the area.

Overall 3.5 stars. We stopped by after a long day touring the wineries. Overall, cozy sized bakery that was nice and cool which was great considering it was over 90 degrees outside! There were 5 small round tables inside with a couple outside tables. Considering the heat we took the inside seating. The selection of baked goods was limited maybe because we went towards the end of the day on a holiday weekend? We ended up ordering the English muffin with jam, a chocolate chip cookie, a lemon crème brûlée and a couple of iced drinks. Our server was super nice and friendly which thus kicking up the stars a bit, but the baked goods were nothing special to me. The chocolate chip cookie is more crispy rather than chewy which works for me, but not so much for my friends who are more used to the crispy edges and the soft and chewy center. The lemon crème brûlée was not too tart which was nice and had a good crust, but it was not $ 8 amazing good. The English muffin was my favorite of the 3 as it was different and combined with what tasted like a homemade jam it was quite a nice balance between savory and sweet. The highlight of this place is the fact that they offer Stumptown coffee. Yum! We ordered 3 cold brew coffees two in normal and one in chocolate. It was smooth, had deep flavors and was nice and a good pick me up to give us the extra boost of energy to battle the traffic coming home. This is a must try! Of course it’s not as good as the original Stumptown, but pretty darn good. We also ordered a strawberry Italian soda which was refreshing as well. Overall, great service, coffee, and good English muffins paired with the fresh jam :) wished there was more variety, but Overall ok

Fantastic breakfast and experience. The ham and cheese croissant is worth ordering. Great to stay and enjoy or take away on the go.

Fun bakery with interesting breakfast menu served until noon. Unfortunately we missed that, but we were able to try some of their baked goods and coffee. I liked that they serve coffee in more rationed 8oz cups rather than the ginormous«tall» or «small» 12oz you get at other chain coffee shops. Great salads and english muffins too!

Over priced and weak coffee. After paying $ 8 for 2 coffee and a basic muffin day old, we were told to go to the Chevron gas station for a bathroom. Very poor

We came here by accident. We needed our afternoon coffee and pastry. Plenty of available tables and chairs when we walked in so we sat by the window. We ordered their walnut bread and coffee. We liked their walnut bread.(It could have been better if it was warmed up a bit, but oh well, maybe we’ll ask next time.) The interior was OK — it does need a bit of an upgrade. Fortunately, staff was sweeping the floor when we came in – floor was dirty with crumbs and such.(Ugh.) Anyway, lots of choices here — breads, pastry, etc. We’ll have to come back to find out what they were because as we were having our coffee and walnut bread, more people came in and the place became packed that«browsing» at their bakery selections would not have been a good idea. We’ll return if we are back in the area and checkout their other pastry selections, etc.

By far the best breakfast sandwiches in the area. The signature English muffins is crispy and buttery. Fluffy eggs and high quality cheese make it absolutely delectable!

This place is a nice bakery with good food but this review is regarding their customer service/staff policies. I live in town and frequent regularly with my family but today when we got a sandwich for my daughter, she complained that the bread was wet. Normally I tell my kids to eat it as is but I felt the bread and it was drenched with the bread wet even on the outside of the sandwich. I went up to the counter and told the gentleman at the register and he said he could get me two slices of bread but would charge me three dollars. I said that seemed ridiculous given the state of the bread on our sandwich and he just said that was their policy. I had no choice but to pay as the previous slices were simply not edible. If that is your policy, I suppose I need to find a new bakery.

I love this place! We came here both days for breakfast while visiting the area. Excellent coffee and friendly baristas. The homemade English muffins are mouth-watering, especially with the strawberry jam. The scones are great too! We also tried the prosciutto and egg breakfast sandwich… Yum!

Everyone is obsessed with the English muffins, so I tried one. It was amazing! I don’t even like English muffins and only tried one bc the Unilocal reviews… then I went back and bought six more for my family to try. They taste like doughnuts — airy and buttery. Also tried their sourdough bread and a few pastries. Bread was delicious(soft inside, hearty crust, not too sour). The pastries were good too, and I’m sure on their own I would have loved them, but compared to the bread and English muffins I didn’t care as much about the sweets.

Lovely bakery. Ina Garten review of their homemade English muffins was spot on. Had the turkey breakfast sandwich and loved it! The English muffin was crispy around the edges, yet chewy. I’m a breakfast sandwich connoisseur. Whether it’s on it English muffin, bagel, or just sandwich bread, this was one of the nicer sandwiches I’ve had. I also brought pastries home and have nibbling my way through the box. Who needs chocolates when you can have buttery croissants filled with almond paste, chocolate, bear claws, or cinnamon rolls?

This is a cute bakery with a nice selection of cookies, cupcakes, and other lovely treats. Many of the decorated pastries were festive and decorated for the holidays. They also had sandwiches to go. The service was good because it was quick and polite. Both the tea and the coffee were excellent. The basket also offered almond milk for my tea. Sadly, didn’t eat here, so I can’t comment on the actual food, just the drinks and service. Hopefully, I’ll be back so I can rate the food.

Ok, so let me preface my review by saying that yes, Ina Garten sent me here. I love her! My husband and I were in Napa Valley this past weekend to spend Thanksgiving and on Friday we were up super early because we have a 6 month old. There were people there at 8:30AM but nothing crazy and we were actually able to snag a table inside. We ordered an almond croissant which was flaky and delicious but not warm which would have made it even better but the breakfast sandwiches made up for it. My husband had the chipotle sandwich and I the sausage sandwich. So freaking good! They come on those English muffins they’re known for then the aioli sets it over the top. It’s definitely a crave worthy breakfast. We bought a chocolate rad for the ride back to our cottage for the weekend and it was fresh out of the oven and warm. I had to take a bite and the chunks of chocolate inside were gooey and amazing. We will definitely be returning next time we’re in the area with plans to take home ½ dozen English muffins. They really are that good.

I love Model Bakery — they have the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve ever had in my life. This location is awesome because there’s no limit on the number of bags of English muffins you can purchase and they serve Stumptown nitro! If you’re in the area and haven’t had Model, be sure to stop by this location! Pro tip: there are a few tables but it is often full and turnover is a bit slow. Not recommended for large groups interested in eating in.

Everybody mentions the Model Bakery’s deeeeeelicious English muffins, but my review is going to focus on the true unsung heroes here — the baguettes and sourdough bread! People throw out the term«artisan bakery» left and right, but the Model Bakery truly lives up to that claim! Parking in downtown St. Helena is no fun but if you are lucky enough to score a spot, go inside this bakery and load up and freshly baked goodies. There are two olive oil shops down the block which make the perfect pairing to a big, crusty baguette. We stop in solely for the warm baguettes(insider tip: they’ll sometimes bake fresh baguettes in the late afternoon so don’t give up on your carb quest if it’s after 1 pm)! Coffee, sandwiches and other goodies are also on offer but it’s all about the BREAD for me. The Model Bakery is a popular place so don’t get your tummy ready for something in particular or you may leave disappointed. Be ready to go with the flow; you never know what you will end up with. A great way to break up your busy day of wine tasting too.

Best English muffin I have ever had! I just had it with butter. Mmm Typically New York City has the best bakery items when it comes to muffins and bagels but model out does NYC! The latte was so pretty and wonderful. I can’t believe how often I drink Starbucks. Yuck compared to model bakery! Fresh fruit and friendly service. Worth a stop!

Ok, I’ve been here a few more times since my last review. Their«hot» coffee is consistently lukewarm. But their breakfast sandwiches are always good. It has to do with their English muffins — so good! Their cookies are average. Their granola and fruit cups are good too. I’ve never been disappointed with any food items that I’ve gotten here. Lukewarm coffee is never acceptable.
