The Ledges of St. George

The back 9 is on the edge of Snow Canyon and is incredible. The front 9 is okay. I’d definitely put it my list of favorite courses of St. George with Sunbrook and Sand Hollow.

Beautiful course & a steal for the price. I played during the winter, so I believe the price was a little less than usual, but even their full rates are pretty good considering the quality of the course. I played out here while on vacation, so I’m not going to be a regular, but this is the kind of course that would be challenging even if I played it all the time. The greens are quite challenging. The view of the mountains is quite beautiful.

Surprisingly good, especially for the price. The front nine is a little flat (Florida like almost), but the back nine makes up for it with lots of elevation changes. Early in the season the greens were reported to be a bit rough, but last week they were in good shape, and plenty slick. Decent approach shots left pitch marks on the greens that most patrons appeared not to be bothered with fixing, but the Ledges is hardly unique in this.
Overall, not that tough tee to green, but plenty challenging around the greens, possibly explaining the high slope rating. Definitely worth adding to the list of must plays in the St George area.

This was the first time my buddy and I played golf in this area and this course, being part of the St. George 6, met our expectations. The conditions were nice and the staff was friendly.
With the exception of 1 oddly designed par 5 hole on the back, which was so blind from the tee boxes that you didn’t know which way or how far to hit, the layout was pretty nice and fair, providing a good challenge and a decent number of risk-​reward shot choices.
Scenery was okay, but much better on the back. The front was more straight forward and simple.
Not too much of a wow factor, except for some of the incredible houses that lined a few parts of the course (from a distance, so you didn’t feel like you were in an alley).
Overall, my buddy and I would recommend this one, but enjoyed Sand Hollow even more — better, more lush conditions and dramatic scenery. We wished we didn’t play at Coral Canyon.

course in great shape. not too hard, but some nice challenges and lovely surroundings.

Great Course! Not Easy… Not Super Difficult.
There are a few Really Challenging holes but for the most part the course is pretty forgiving provided you stay on the fairway. If you hit it into the ‘ruff’… your chances of finding your ball are pretty slim.
The greens were in pretty sad shape… but we are still sort of in winter coming into spring so I suppose that is to be expected.
… Other than the shape of the greens… they are Big! Just because you hit the green doesn’t mean you’re anywhere near the pin or that it’ll be an easy 1 putt. These are challenging… a few of them… are like what you might see with a windmill and a bridge on it… tough! Up hill and over dale to get to the hole. One hole is like a cascading, stair step affect.
The fairways are beautiful and well kept.
The views, scenery and homes on some of the holes are Quite Spectacular… like when you get to the top of 11… #11 is tough… all up hill.
Overall: We want to go back and play it again… preferably when it’s not 20−30mph winds, cloudy, a bit rainy and 50 degrees outside.
PS… The Fish Rock Grille at the clubhouse is closed on Sundays but the snack bar is open.
