St George Golf Club

I’ve played St. George Golf Club many times, mainly in the summer when it’s super hot and miserable and the course has always been well-​maintained. Recently, on Sunday I played there in a 2-​man scramble and the fairways and greens were up to par. As for the rough, don’t let the color of the grass scare you away. Right now, it’s pretty dry «looking», but in reality it’s actually almost easier to hit out of than it is the short stuff. The course is playable for all handicaps and for the most part it’s pretty flat as well. Not much exotic scenery to ooh and ah over but the staff is polite and the course is usually wide-​open to play without scheduling a tee time. I’ve had fun whenever I’ve played there, and typically have my best rounds as well. I’m about a 12 handicap and have only been golfing for about 9 months, so that should tell you it’s not the toughest course in St. George, but the price is right for what you get.

The practice putting green is small, but super nice.
There is a chipping green, but nothing too special.
There’s NO driving-​range either.

Played St George GC for the 2^nd time today. Very walkable course, which we appreciate, although we were the only walkers we saw today. $ 25 each walking.
Due to the desert conditions, only the tees, fairways and greens were green. Everything else was brown and dry. Although that made it challenging, it was fine overall.
Sand bunkers were really unplayable. Long downhill walk from the clubhouse to the course, and back up again at the end!
Overall, fast round, good experience, good deal.

I worked at this course for about 2 years and they have really made improvements in the time I started there and since then. I drove by the other day after having moved back to st george, 6 years after I stopped working there, and it looks great. It used to be the worst course in town, but actually looks quite good now. As Ken’s review mentioned, it is pretty flat. The holes are long and there isn’t a ton of water except for one lake on the back 9, but there are some challenging bunkers and length to this course. Definitely worth playing if you haven’t yet.

Very flat course. Municipal course the has no signature hole but was fun to play nonetheless. Decent condition and walkable.
