An okay place to grab lunch. We were expecting some juicy burgers, but we’re disappointed. Their burgers were not bad. Their patties were seemed to be squished so flat so it gets crunchy? I’m not sure what it was, but I wasn’t a fan. 3 stars because their fries were really good and their custard was decent.

I have eaten here two different times and each time I order a single hamburger. I think it’s almost a joke when I lift up the bun to see Patty that resembles lace —

My wife and I come to St George every couple of years from Orem/Provo. My uncle recommended this place and come at least once every time we come.

Say Whhhhaaaaaaattttttttttt!!! Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburger?!! That’s awesome! I immediately fell in love with this place for the obvious reason. I couldn’t WAIT for my turn to order so I could proudly declare«I’m Freddy & I’d like to eat please!» I got a little nervous when I noticed that the cashiers weren’t taking anyone’s name when they took their orders but, instead, were just issuing the customers numbers like they were In some sort of concentration. .. never mind. I’m quick on my feet though! So, when I was finally up to order, before the cashier could say a word, I interrupted her with — «Quick! Guess my name! What do you think my name is! Quick! Quick! Guess it! You know it! Guess it!!» I was so excitable that the folks I was with had to calm me down a bit :) The cashier(I forget her name) said dryly — «Don’t tell me. Freddy??» Yahtzee! Nailed it! She was super playful, too! She called over to her manager & said — «Hey, guess „guy“ here’s name?» Her manager, without having met me, didn’t miss a beat. «Ugh, don’t tell me — Freddy?» These two are as smart as they are delicious! I engaged in witty banter with the staff a bit longer before receiving my scrumptious Veggie Burger. It was top notch but I’d expect nothing less from a Freddy! The staff here is awesome & a joy to be around. We made jokes about how«I’m Freddy & I could have you all fired» & «I’m Freddy, why are you charging me full price?» We played that game till we were all exhausted! I’m kind of happy my girlfriend, Sarah, wasn’t here for this one(shhhhh). I love her to pieces but sometimes she has a difficult time conversing with others when she’s not immediately the focal point of attention :( If she’s involved or around any conversation that goes on for longer than five minutes & at some point the attention doesn’t make its way to what she’s eating, wearing, working on, thinking or feeling she actually gets physically ill. She starts to wheeze & grow flush in the face — this makes her self conscious & often leads to outbursts(table slaps, plate flips & chair kicks). Then I’m forced to pay for dinner AND damages. Not today though! Witty staff. Delicious food. Treated like a prince! Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburger gets FIVESTARS!

I know that it is common for dissatisfied customers to exaggerate so I’m going to be generous here. The milkshake was made using hand dipped ice cream and they had a ton of flavors, so plus there. The rotors on the blender were no wiped down from the last use so the guy dipped them into a metal blender cup that was apparently filled with(used) water, sitting next to the machine… negative mark there. The burger meat was seasoned well… plus. it was pressed so thin that it was actually crispy and reminded me of what you scrape off a grill after the burger has been removed… it was not a patty, it was a wafer… negative mark. The ‘double burger’ was still under 4oz of meat. I’m not kidding. A healthy ten year old could eat the triple burger and still finish the milk shake. We spent $ 19 and went snacking 2 hours later. You’ve been warned.

My second time here at this location. Got the original double. meat wasn’t seasoned at all, my burger tasted very blend with some really burnt part. Ordered a hot caramel sundae but got one WITHOUT the hot caramel, we took it back to the man in black uniform who took our order(also made the sundae) didn’t even apologize, whom I believe is the Manager of the place . Unbelievably RUDE. I enjoyed other Freddy’s locations but NOT this one for sure.

Good burger not the best I’ve had around st. George area. The fries were way too seasoned salty and too much pepper but the cheese sauce was good. Really good pickles and Freddy sauce or fry sauce.

So, the question here becomes immediately is this place better or equal to Five Guys? That answer is no, but perhaps the question is unfair. This one had a much more extensive menu(especially with desserts) and is definitely angling towards a 50’s malt shop feel. Still, since they take pains to call themselves the 2nd best burger in St. George, according to The Spectrum, let’s take it blow by blow. Soda fountain: 5 Guys has Coke Zero. This place does not. Peanuts: 5 Guys yes, here, no. Fries: 5 Guys is admittedly a mess there. Here, they have nice shoestrings. Some would call this a push, but here I give them the nod. Décor is push, with both of them kind of dull and stacked in red and white. Menu is a mess here, but it’s not a fair comparison directly. Still, this one is actively confusing, so a point deduction. With 5 Guys heavily in the lead, we look to the main stars, which are the actual burgers. The burger I got was split in half, across the thickness, apparently in order to make the«double» I ordered. I have no idea why they would do that, but they did. Flavor was solid, but a definite step down from 5 Guys. Both are about the same speed, but 5 Guys will bring it out to you and here, they call your name over the PA. It was nice to try it, but this one is definitely more towards the middle, in terms of sort of higher end burger joints chains. I’d rather go here than Smashburger, but not by any great amount. 5 Guys is still the runaway winner for best upscale chain burger.

Stopped here on drive back to LA from South Dakota. So glad we did! The food is super yummy. The concrete(shakes) are excellent! I had the Hawaiian delight and I know I’m gonna crave it again soon! Only reason gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because the burger patties are pretty thin.

The food and custard were fantastic. I wish they cut their fries a little thicker but I understand that shoestring is their thing. I love this place

We received Outstanding service from Katlyn tonight! She was so polite, helpful and understanding. We ordered a concrete with MALT thinking it was the powder, but to our surprise it was a syrup which did not taste good, so we went back and had her just make it as a normal malt again with the syrup(thinking it would be better as a blended malt) and again it did not taste good. So we went back a third time and she happily re-made another one with the malt powder and it turned out PERFECT. So FYI if you order a malt from Freddy’s request it be made with the POWDER if you want it to taste like any other malt you have had.

Freddy’s has a great old school atmosphere. The steak burgers are unique but very good, they have a slightly different flavor from what you get from other burger joints but that’s what makes it a fun experience. The fries they serve are shoe string and are good for what they are(I’m not a big fan of shoe string fries). The ice cream is defiantly what makes the place a must stop when I visit St. George.

Fries: a 5 star — soft shoestring fries with a crisp with their seasoning Peanut butter cup banana shake: 5 star — tasty shake. Burger: 3.5 star. Got the bacon cheeseburger and it was a bit dry but flavorful. After first bite, I added some peppers and it tasted better. Atmosphere: 5 star. Great place to stop and eat.

Not too happy with my food here today :( My hamburger was burned all the way around and had a wild meat taste. We wanted tomatoes but it was served without. I think the Hotdogs need to be sliced open and cooked instead of served round. Fries are small cut and you have to get a few to make a good bite ;) The frozen custard was nice and creamy. We had the Hawaiian sundae. Also we shared an apple pie shake. Touted to have a whole slice of pie inside!

Unfortunately we’ve had a terrible experience with this restaurant. The«general manger» TONY is extremely rude and I’m shocked he is managing this restaurant. Very unprofessional. I hope he’s nicer to his employees at least. Won’t be going here anytime soon:(

Freddy’s had me at skinny fries. I’m a sucker for skinny fries and not only were these thin, crispy and delicious, but they gave me a portion with my combo that could have easily fed two people. As for the burgers, I would opt for the double on all occasions. I got the single and was disappointed by the lack of meat thereof. The patties are unique and thin. Trust me, big or small, man or woman, child or fully grown, go with the double. I would go back. I would recommend this burger joint to friends. I will vouch for the fries, no doubt.

I’ve only been here once and I’ve only had the Concrete Turtle. Just from that 1 item I can tell that I’m gonna love this place. Who doesn’t like the classic burger and fries joint with ice cream! Prices are pretty decent, but definitely seems worth it. Staff were very nice and quick. Must go back to write a more in depth review.
