Pep Boys Auto Service & Tire

i recently broke down driving home 2 hollywood fl. stuck on turnpike in st. cloud hrs from home. make a long story short i picked pepboys 2 have my car towed 2. had 2 leave my lexus unseen in their hands & go home.
i have had the pleasure of dealing directly w/hector.i have driven him nuts
he has been more than kind and gracious!
he made a bad situation tolerable.
he should b commended as a great employee.
let me add i was not taken advantage of $$ wize by pep boys.
also i do not write reviews but this one was a must do!

Gee I can’t speak for that guy re: the crackhead, err, cracked head but I stopped in two months ago for a brake check, gratis, and was told the noise was just a vibration and my brakes are fine.
I did hear from a nearby shop that they sold someone a used tire that was older than should be sold but I’ll go to Pep Boys St. Cloud again, this could just be some story.
They seem on the up and up to me so far.

11÷7÷14 took my car to Pep Boys St. Cloud as it was running a little rough. They told me I had a cracked head and it would cost me over $ 1400.00 and that I should get rid of my car asap as it was just a matter of time when I had even more costly expenses. I told them I had to think about it. I got a second opinion from a local mechanic and all my car needed was an oil change for $ 35.00. In addition, had a light bulb burn out and they said they could change it but they would have to pull the entire front end off because of the way the car was built which would cost me $ 100.00. When to Discount Auto purchased a replacement light bulb and the associate at Discount Auto installed it for me total cost $ 2.38. DO NOT GO TO PEP BOYS IN ST. CLOUD AS THEY ARE LESS THAN TRUSTWORTHY.

I have been going to pep boys in St. Cloud since 2012, the service used to be exemplary. When I needed to use their services again this past Sunday it was a completely different story. I called ahead to request an appointment and was told that it would not be necessary to make an appointment, just stop by.
When I arrived there I was told it would be a three hour wait, when I asked them why they did not let me make an appointment the day before when I phoned I was told by the desk manager that contrary to what their on line advertisement said about making appointments they did not take appointments. The same desk management said to me if I wanted to have my car repaired in a more timely manner that I should have showed up an hour before they opened.
Needless to say that this customer will be taking her vehicle to an alternate tire/​maintenance service in the future.

I have recently become a customer of PepBoys, due to the employment of «MY» mechanic, John Trent. John is one of the most honest, reliable and field knowledgeable men I have ever met. Until meeting John I have never walked into a auto repair shop and not dreaded it. Walking into any location where John has worked/​works makes you feel welcome. I don’t know what it is about the employees that work under his management, but they always seem so pleasant, regardless. That says so much about the man they’re working for/​with. I met John about 5 years ago, when he worked for a competitor of yours. When he changed companies, so did I. I’ve always been taught that a good and honest mechanic is hard to find. John is the reason I don’t mind traveling 1.75 hours from Tampa, to get my car serviced. (I should have sung John’s praises long ago, but I guess I wanted to keep «MY» mechanic a secret) Hopefully this review will set any single woman’s mind at ease for car repairs. I have referred about 5 friends to him, and they have all had the same experience as I.
Thank you John for always being honest, thorough and most of all for always making me safe on my commutes.
