Good food, fresh baked bread and very friendly service.

Our all time favorite local restaurant! They are closed on the weekends, which I LOVE. They are the epitome of a small town local place. The bread is awesome as a starter, the menu is easy, and the staff is friendly. We come here frequently, and love the atmosphere. I highly recommend a weekday meal here with your family !

66⁄100 in 2016 challenge I have been going to Chimento’s for a long time now. I had not been there recently though and hubby was looking for somewhere close and not to busy on a Friday night and he thought of here. This place is in the heart of downtown St. Cloud and has been owned by the same couple for as long as I can remember. Small parking lot with tight spots but there is street parking. When you walk in you get the down home feeling. In a good way but it is time to update the décor. You are welcomed as soon as you enter. They are genuinely happy to see you. You walk up to the counter order, pay your bill and take a seat. Before you even finish paying, they have gotten your drinks and brought them to a table for you. You follow where they bring your drinks. I do like this service. They also bring bread and garlic butter with your drinks. Great garlic butter. Good ice tea here. I ordered the pasta with mushrooms and hubby ordered the eggplant parm. sub. Mine came with the house salad with their homemade dressing. I love the dressing. They sell it by the bottle. The food came out fairly quickly. Hubby sub came with a bag of chips and 2 banana peppers. My pasta was for sure not freshly made. It tasted like it had been reheated in a microwave, the top pasta was hard and cold. The bottom was not warm. The pasta was served with the mushrooms on top and the sauce on the side. I like the sauce on the side idea because you can add what you want. The sauce was hot so it kind of made up for the temp being off on the pasta. The sauce had good flavor to it. It was a tad watery. I thought the hubby’s sandwich was on the small side but he enjoyed it. I didn’t go to the bathroom here because I know from being here previously that you have to leave the restaurant through a side door, and walk down a hallway to use it. I think it is shared with other business in the strip. It has changed from what I remember. They are trying to keep up the hometown feel which is good but not sure then can. It was descent but not sure how soon I would return again.

Just got home from my first time eating there on my husband’s birthday, and I am disappointed. First of all it’s not a typical restaurant where you have a menu and a waiter/waitress. You order at the counter when you walk in, you pay, and then you go sit down.(like fast food). The food was brought out to the table, but that’s the last time you see that person. We did leave a tip on the table but I’m pretty sure we weren’t expected to.(They also bring the food to the table at Bojangles or Whataburger and you don’t tip there.) The décor is pretty bad, wallpaper border peeling up all over the place, weird paint stains with old pic over them. The place looks really old and it probably has been there a very long time. It was very clean, and I can totally forgive everything else if the food had been good, but unfortunately the food was the worst part. The salad was OK. The bread was 2 plain sticks of Italian bread(shaped like a hotdog bun but it was bread) and some plain butter or margarine for spread.(there was no garlic spread as somebody else put in a review). The bread didnt have much taste. My husband ordered the lasagna and meatball dinner. He said his lasagna was a tasteless square block of ricotta cheese with pasta and some cheese melted on it, there was zero meat or sauce in it and it had no taste. The only meat was the 2 meatballs on the side and they were OK.(Neither of us ever had lasagna before with no meat, unless it as vegetarian. I guess the meatballs were the meat). I had the Eggplant Parmesan dinner. It tasted salty and had an excessive amount of mozzarella melted over it. I’m not sure what was under all that cheese, it didnt taste very good. My husband tasted mine and he said he tasted eggplant but I didn’t. The tough and dry noodles had a small blob of plain sauce on top but the sauce didn’t have much taste either. overall we left saying ‘wont be going back’. Also I’d like to add that the prices were not cheap. I had water and our total bill was around $ 30 plus we left a tip. When we first went in I noticed that the posted prices were higher than their website menu, guess they need to update that.

Came here for lunch. Got the spaghetti with meatballs special and wife got the ravioli. Just your average diner. Sauce tastes prepackaged and meatballs although decent, were a bit dry. Pasta was overcooked for my tastes as I like it al dente. Thank God they had Tabasco sauce and salt and pepper on the table as it allow us to add some seasoning. Service was okay and décor is family run diner. Prices were good. Bread looks to be made there, but it wasn’t baked fresh as it was cold(as if it came from the fridge… which is a shame). Overall, we left still wanting something else to eat.

First time and really enjoyed this place. Moving to St Cloud in November and we’ve been trying different places. This is definitely in our top 10.

We’re new to St. Cloud. This is the best Italian food we’ve had in the area. Being from northern New Jersey, we’re very picky when it comes to Italian food. We ordered the chicken parm lunch special and a meatball parm sub. Tasted homemade. Very very good

For a small town local Italian place the prices were great and the eggplant Parm was pretty good! Not the best I have ever had but it was good!

This was my 1st visit to Chimento’s the interior is clean except for the AC vents in the ceiling. The staff is friendly. Lunch is $ 11 – 18 with drink which is high. All the prices are based on base products so every ingredient is extra. I had a Steak and Cheese Sub it was good. The garlic butter and bread were good, the bread was not warmed. It seems busy I will probably try it again sometime. It is about $ 4 more for dinner prices.

I don’t understand why this place is so highly rated, but worth a visit for the weird building. I got pasta fagioli since they didn’t have red sauce and I’m a vegetarian — seriously, no red sauce in an Italian restaurant? Nothing to write home about, but hit the spot. My boyfriend got a chicken parm sub he said was ok. The bread, sure, it’s garlic butter. But Saint Cloud’s not Valhalla, so there you go.

3.5 stars!!! New to St. Cloud and I can see this being one of my regular dinner spots. The pros? –Outstanding service. It was a little weird ordering food at the counter and then sitting and having a waitress for the second half but I will say, our waitress was TOPNOTCH –Prices are great. –Salad dressing is homemade. FINALLY! A place w/homemade salad dressing! A little touch that goes a LONG way! –Garlic butter made in house is good. The bread is also made there. It’s like a pizza dough/crust. It’s dense but soft. Though I wish they didn’t serve it cold. Toasted or warmed would be great. –The cannoli tasted just like when I used to buy them in NY. ONPOINT! I ordered the chicken parm and to be honest I won’t order it again. The breadcrumb/coating wasn’t crispy and it had an old stale breadcrumb taste. However, the other dishes we ordered were great. I will definitely be back!

Went here with my colleagues for lunch. I was craving a meatball sub and they all mentioned the old doctors from my job used to go here for lunch. So we all decided to go ahead and check it out. Its located approx 20 mins or so from the job so it is a drive! I was reading Unilocal prior to us driving here and they rec calling in your order and picking it up because lunch hours is BUSY! As we got there — There was already a line! We were nervous because we didnt have that much time to eat and we were confused because the lady who takes and deliver orders we felt she skipped us to take our order while standing in line. She was by herself serving the foods to a almost packed place! I ordered the Parmesan Meatball Sub and it was $ 6.95 plus tax. After you pay you are then seated to any table you request and drinks and bread basket is already served for you with utensils. The bread was not warm or hot but it was so soft and delicious! The creamy garlic butter was delicious too it had the right amount of garlic in it! My Parmesan Meatball Sub came in and It looked delicious! It 2 pcs 9″ sub thats cut in half. The cheese is melted all over my sub! The meatball isnt as big as I expected though from a mom & pops place. I used a fork to eat my sub and after eating 1 out of 2 of my sub I was already full! Perhaps the garlic butter & bread made me full faster! 2 of My colleagues had the soup and salad special for $ 6.50 or you can opt for the spaghetti and meatball for also $ 6.50. Thursdays they offer all you can eat Spaghetti! This place is closed on weekends though! I would def come back here and try other options! They sell thier garlic butter, Italian dressing for retail! Very homey ambiance and kind staff!

I only eat out at two places in the culinary wasteland that is St. Cloud, FL… and this place is one of them. It’s family owned, and they make their own bread. The whipped garlic butter they serve with the bread is addictive! They serve the BEST Meatball Parmesan sub that I’ve ever had. I tend to crave it if I go too long in between visits. The only downside to this place is that it’s closed on weekends!

Recently moved to Florida(St.Cloyd) and set out to find a local spot… not a chain. My husband and I visited this restaurant for the first time this evening and had their spaghetti dinner special. Definitely a local family spot and we were identified as new faces immediately. They were very warm and friendly, the food was very good and reasonably priced. Three good reasons to support your local family restaurants.

The local spot to eat delicious Italian food in Saint Cloud. All meals come with an appetizer of fresh, soft bread with garlic butter. As for your actual meal, you can pick from Chicken/Eggplant Parmesan Subs, Homemade Pizza, Spaghetti, and much more! Be sure to come here any Thursday night for an all-you-can-eat Spaghetti special.
