Hands down the best meal in town!
It’s so exciting to have variety and flavor on Main Street again. While competition includes the historic Lewis Café; their menu hasn’t changed in decades while quality continues to decline.
In stark contrast, Blondies offers diverse choices, an ever evolving menu, daily specials that are excellent (Saturday night steak night!), and they aren’t afraid to try something new, like fun lunch specials or occasional brunch. In a world of boring safe menus lacking flavor and fresh ingredients, blondies sticks out.
If you’re turned off by the bar-​on-​main-​street appearance, don’t be. It’s anything but. Great food, great for families, kids, anyone who likes great food.
Seriously, give it a try.
Visiting St. Clair? Passing through? Skip the tacky chain fast food joints off the highway. Skip the greasy food and soggy lettuce of the diner scene, and stop by Blondies. The pizza is about the only thing that isn’t spectacular (it’s not bad, just not worth writing about), but everything else is great. How about a Reuben? Thick cut of delicious meat, it’s not yet another «standard» Reuben. It’s unique and delicious. A great turkey sandwich, a buffalo wrap that is fantastic, burgers that are inventive, fun, and unfairly delicious. Oh and the wings?
Oh the wings. The incredible, amazing, delectable hot wings. Smoked, sauced (get the hot sauce. The blondies sauce is good too if you don’t like spicy. Or get them plain. Just GET THEM), and absolutely mouth watering. Best. Wings. Anywhere.
St. Clair is a bit of a food dessert. Though we have a yummy Mexican joint, prior to blondies, that was about it. Nearby communities like Washington offer a variety of excellent options leaving us behind with fast food. But now we finally have something worth driving to. Make the trip, it’s well worth it!
My only beef? Well they aren’t open on Sunday’s or Monday’s. Which is disappointing. But what are you gonna do?
My biggest hope for blondies as they grow and continue, is that they continue a varied menu and lots of specials. It has such potential, thanks to the skilled kitchen, to be a really adventurous place to try something new. Please, Blondies, keep changing up the menu and giving us great specials!
The service is also pretty incredible. We go most often for lunch. While everyone else is next door eating French fries from a bag, were often part of a small lunch crowd at blondies. We’ve always felt our patronage was extremely appreciated and the service has been so excellent it feels like we’re the only patrons in the restaurant. But then we go when it’s busy, like on a Saturday night. And… Guess what? It still feels the same way. Drinks are always full, food comes quick and hot, and we still feel like the only people there and the whole wait staff is just waiting to serve us. The service is so good it’s almost weird. I’m not sure how, but they’ve somehow managed to procure some really excellent people to staff our favorite eatery, who seem to care as much about Blondies as we do.
