Labelle Antiques

This store is Amazing (*.*) I have been shopping here for years. What I LOVE about Labelle Antiques is the stores coziness and merchandise set up, all the items are fabulous to look on & there are many items for all sorts of tastes, so the store is very pleasing to buyers. The staff is helpful and friendly (*.*) Love This Place!

We used Dawn when we needed to get rid of things left at my grandmothers house. She drove almost 2 hours, and we went through the house with her. I already knew the general value of what things were worth, and I did catch her trying to lowball us on some old kids toys, and glass resistor caps from old electrical wires. She was very polite to me, and paid us cash on the spot for what she bought.
She is an antique broker, she is going to haggle and try to get the best deal. However, she was totally open to haggling back.
Also I had some items that she suggested I hold onto, because the value of them was down, but it was coming back up. Sure enough a few months down the line I got a lot more money out of them on EBay.
I will use Dawn again, but as a customer you have to be knowledgable of what you are buying or selling.

Clean and neat place with a wide variety of vintage Americana at reasonable prices. Unfortunately, I have to agree with the other reviewer on here. The owner has a shockingly poor business acumen. After my purchase, I was honest with her and confronted her about unobligingly saying something under her breath to her assistant about me as if I wouldn’t see it. It was because I am a decorator and earmarked over $ 100 in merchandise at the counter, but wasn’t ready for her to begin writing me up until I was finished shopping. She said «If that’s the kind of customer you are, then I won’t miss you.» I was floored by that response and can’t imagine returning.

I’m on the fence with this review. I’ve been going to this antique shop for the past couple years and it’s always been my favorite in the area. The store is organized, clean, and they have a great selection of antiques. However, yesterday a staff member (presumably the owner) had a very poor attitude. I made an offer on a piece and she snickered and sort of had a «fine, whatever» response. I honestly would have rather her just politely decline my offer. She also misunderstood a question I had about the piece and got all flustered. It was really uncomfortable, and now I had a bad taste in my mouth. It’s really unfortunate because I love the store, but I will probably hesitate to shop there again.
Plain and simple – if you don’t like hagglers, you probably shouldn’t be in the business of selling antiques.
