I used to go into this store once in a while when it was The Game Trader. Brian was a cool guy and the selection was pretty awesome for imports and rare games. My only objection was the place reeked of smoke and was pretty dirty. In that state, I would have given it 3 stars. Now that the store has been reopened as Game Trader II, now ran by Charlie, I cannot get enough of this place. First, the store has been completely cleaned and reorganized, which is a major improvement over the origin. Second, Charlie is awesome. His knowledge is vast, to say the least, and he has a real passion. Third, the selection is incredible. I know every time I walk in I will walk out with some amazing stuff. From super hard to find consoles, rare/CIB games, the best selection of imports anywhere in the St. Louis/St. Charles area, and other gems. For any collector out there, you need to hit up Game Trader II and make it your new home away from home.

Brian is a great guy, knows everything about his store, his stock, games in general and music. He offers fair prices and often has great deals, he trades for more than slackers or gameflop and offers better cash prices in flat sales. When I lived in Missouri, even when I moved to a pretty far location from game trader I only went there and cd reunion for games and music. Support local, especially in this case when they are better than the chains.

This place feels/smells like you literally walked into a cigarette. But this guy has a good collection and has decent prices on old games.

This review is in-between 3 and 4 stars. An off-the-beaten-path hole-in-the-wall game shop run by just one guy(from what I can tell.) Closed on Mondays now, I think. Yes, this guy has a pretty epic selection of lots of oldschool games and classics. Even a pretty decent ‘recent’ selection as well. But goddamn. When you walk in this place, it’s like walking into a freaking ashtray the size of a room. I get that it’s his own business and that he can smoke in there if he wants to, but Jesus, I can’t spend more than a few minutes in there due to the overall smell and grungy-ness. :( Also the game prices aren’t always the best. You can sometimes find decent deals in here if you look around. But the smell… THESMELL. Gaaaah. Oh yeah and I love the posters. Random, but it reminds me of my childhood when I had tons of video game and animé posters in my room. *nerd cred* lol.

This place is one of the reasons I still live in stl. Best place to find vintage games and systems. Only place around for import games. Most importantly the cheapest prices on used I’ve ever seen.
