What! People must have taste buds of gold. This place was clean and tasted great. Everyone was nice. Don’t get it… I was pleased. I don’t know maybe I caught them on a good day. I doubt it though.

Its a decent place, it was better than some experiences I have had at Golden Corral. I find that the staff is always very friendly. The food is… decent…its quesitonable at times, but theres a large variety. Its a good place with basic American cuisine.

I’m not sure what changed over the last year at this restaurant, but now it’s just terrible food. Before, when I first started coming, it was decent: nothing fancy, but filling and palatable. Now, though, the food is disgusting. 90% of their buffet offerings are WAY too salty. The pulled turkey was tough, the fish tasted like licking a bottle of meat tenderizer, and the vegetables cooked to a putty-like state. The only thing vaguely edible was the corn pudding and mashed potatoes. The desserts are ok, almost store-bought quality. The service at least was good. Our waitress refilled our drinks promptly and removed plates often. The only good I saw all night.

It is what it is… cheap, low quality food to stuff your face on. The deserts are decent quality. I enjoy their weekend breakfast buffet more then I generally like their lunch/dinner offerings. The Hispanic lady who makes the omelets and waffles is great :) Ate lunch there today, wasn’t that impressed with the value for the price. Vegetables aren’t of good quality, and they had very limited meat entrees for lunch. I did enjoy the meatloaf, and their salads are pretty decent; they tend to make most of their food pretty bland for the large crowd of old folks they attract. Unless you weigh over 400, you can probably go here and feel thin, too! :D

My Family went here to eat a good buffet with a variety of food. We were not disappointed. The food was Terrific! A variety of food and the service was great. The server kept our drinks filled and was very friendly to our child. Keep doing what you are doing! For a great Buffet go here! Check it out! We were very pleased.

The staff was extremely friendly but the restaurant was messy. The was food under the tables and even on the floor by the exit. It would be nice to know what kind of fish you are eating because«fried» isn’t a species. The fried chicken lacked seasoning but the meat inside was really juicy. The steamed spinach had chunks of ham in it so that to me means it was«stewed» with meat, which is nutritionally unhealthy vs steamed. The only positive I get from going here is my teenagers can eat all they want.

There was something that was not right from the moment I walked into this place. I couldn’t figure it out until the end. Finally, I figured it out. The lighting is awful. Not that it was dark or anything, but quite the opposite! Most of the lighting is the 100 ‘watt’ CFLs, with nothing really focusing the light, so there are all of these extremely bright lights everywhere. Think of the lighting you would find in your local high school gym, only these were more intense. Needless to say it was bothersome throughout my time here, until I was able to figure out why it was bothering me… then it really bothered me once I knew what the problem was. In addition, the whole décor is just dated. They really need to do a makeover. Bad. Overall, the food was OK. Nothing really to write home about, although their rolls are really tasty. Their ‘chocolate waterfall’ was a nice attraction, but the quality of chocolate was poor. It was definitely watery… not something I think about when thinking about chocolate. They should upgrade the chocolate they use for that machine. The employees were nice and friendly, so that wouldn’t keep me from coming back. The ambiance is horrible, so that would keep me from coming back. The food is average, so that is a coin flip. Needless to say, I wouldn’t go out of my way to come back, but if I am in the area and in the mood for a buffet, I might be back.

Not impressed. This place has gone waay down hill. Last time we went, a cop escorted us to our seats. However, the few I have visted while out of town were excellant. Trying to avoid this place as much as possible.

dirty, crowded, dirty, and the food. not very good; or m/b I thought it wasnt very good b/c I lost my appetite. A policeman stood at the head of the line to maintain crowd crontrol, I guess. I have never, ever eaten in a restaurant that requires an armed police officer to direct people and keep order and I am from Chicago. Whatever, I will never set foot in that restaurant again. Can’t believe the health dept. allows what I saw.

Now I should preface this by saying that I’ve never eaten at a Golden Corral, so I’m not sure if my comments reflect more upon the chain or on this particular restaurant. I hadn’t been to any buffet-style restaurant in a couple years and I wasn’t really planning to start. I’d been staying at a TownePlace Suites in St. Charles, which happens to be next to the Golden Corral. It seemed like the place was always busy, so my curiosity finally got the best of me. I had heard of the Golden Corral before, but not anything more(I’d heard the name, but knew nothing about it — as far as I knew, this was a reference to the men’s restrooms at Wrigley Field). I paid on the way in and was a bit surprised by the cost($ 13.21 for dinner and beverage). I immediately knew that I was not going to be able to recoup that by food ingestion. I also made the classic rookie buffet mistake of not bringing any cash. I paid with credit but when I sat down and was greeted by a server I realized my mistake. A manager let me sneak out to my car between plates of food to go get some cash from my car, so it was all good. Anyway, there wasn’t quite as much variety as I expected. Basic American style buffet(chicken, pot roast, steak, fried foods, salad bar, soup, various desserts, etc.). I am glad that my server brought me some rolls with«Honey Spread»(or something to that effect) because those were the highlight of my meal. My waitress worked her butt off(you’ll need to work out if you eat here often) so I was impressed overall with the service, just not the value. (side comments: they do allow you to carry out food — they weigh it and you pay by the pound. They serve Pepsi products. They advertised breakfast for Saturday and Sunday 7:30am — 11:30am.)
