History

Established in 1897.

The house was built by a German man named Conrad Decker he immigrated to Boston then moved to St Augustine for the social season January/March. It was a residential home for many years. A man contacted me and told me they had lived in the house in 1934 with his family he was the only living family member left. The straight thing is they came from Yorkshire England a hour from where I used to live. Its a small world we live in. It became a Bed and Breakfast about 20yrs ago, we have owned the B&B

for 5 yrs.

Hi My Name is Marie, I was born in Hull Yorkshire England. We moved first to South Africa for 5 yrs, then back to England for 3 yrs. My husband had the offer of a job in Vancover Canada we stayed 2 yrs then moved to Toronto Ontario for 10yrs. We then moved to Dallas fort worth area in Texas which was a lot differant than the cold winters in Canada, we had 3 children, 2 born in Canada and 1 in South Africa stayed there 10 yrs and then moved to San antonio Texas for 6 yrs. Then my husband recieved a job opportunity to live in St Augustine florida we looked around for a Bed and Breakfast and fell in love with the area. We love the History it reminds us of Europe and England quaint cobbled streets if you have not visited St Augustine you dont know what your missing.
