Culinary Outfitters Catering & Smokehouse

Culinary Outfitters was a pleasure to work with for our Catering and Beverage services for our Wedding. Ashly was our event manager and she was an absolute joy to work with start to finish! We planned our wedding in a very short amount of time, so when I found out they were available I booked them immediately. They provided a tasting for us several months ahead and that was such an experience! Ashly coordinated the tasting at the restaurant and we were blown away by the presentations and flavors from the chef.
We did a heavy hors d’oeuvres and cocktail wedding reception outside at the garden terrace at the Pena Peck House in downtown St. Augustine. They were very familiar with the venue so that made things even easier for us. We also were able to order our cutlery, drink-​ware and bar service through them. They are a one-​stop shop!
With our wedding being in December we were worried about the potential cold weather so we came up with a custom menu that included a soup/​salad bar and they worked that in gladly. We went with Chili and Clam Chowder for our soups and their famous Culinary Classic Salad on one station. The rest was heavy passed hors d’oeuvres which consisted of: Mini Beef Wellingtons with Bearnaise, Pierce’s Maryland Crab Cakes, Citrus Rum Glazed Shrimp Skewers, Spring Rolls with Dipping Sauces and the Smoked Salmon on Crostini with Dill Cream. They had 4 servers passing appetizers and the food was absolutely PHENOMENAL! Not only was the food wonderful, the staff was so friendly. Our guests could not stop talking about the top notch service and food quality.
I highly recommend Culinary Outfitters and specifically Ashly (event manager) if you’re able to request her! Ashly was a true gem and you can tell she takes pride in every single detail for your special day. Her smile and enthusiasm are contagious. Thank you Culinary Outfitters for such amazing food. With a small wedding like ours it’s the little details that matter, and we certainly choose right by going with you!

We were looking for a caterer so went for lunch. It was great. we inquired about their caterering services for a planned event. We were told to go online to pick a menu and call or email. Two telephone calls and two emails and two weeks later with no response. Guess they don’t want or need our business. Disappointed.

Just came here for the first time, and the place was packed! The servers were attentive, polite, moved quickly, and were so nice to offer beverages to the people waiting! Once we were seated, we were greeted by our server, Aaron. He was super nice, very familiar with the menu, remembered our order without having to take notes, and kept our sweet tea filled at all times. We tried their burger special, a brie and bacon marmalade burger on ciabatta, as well as their slow cooked chicken entrée; one side of their Parmesan Rosemary fries and a side salad. Everything was absolutely delicious. I think the burger special might be the best burger I’ve had in town. And finally, we finished with the pumpkin soufflé. Again, absolutely delicious. It wasn’t too sweet — just sweet enough, and the perfect subtle pumpkin flavor. We completely stuffed ourselves because we didn’t want any of the tastiness to go to waste! Definitely stop by when you’re looking for a delicious, generously portioned lunch with great service. Also, they’re open on Fridays. I don’t know why Unilocal says they’re not!

We were in town seeing the sights and a guy from Tampa recommended it. I’m glad he did. We ate at least 6 – 7 different restaurants, including the touristy ones. This one blows them all away. I’m fairly picky and this place has great food, great service and reasonable prices. We sampled Tomato Pie, crab bisque, salmon salad, potato salad and French fries. All of them were great. The flavors were well balanced and the food was cooked perfectly.

Get here early on Wed if you want some great ribs. I’ve dined here several times and it’s all good. They have a great burger & a great Mahi sandwich. Good sweet tea too.
Friendly service & large open kitchen. Seating is limited but our wait at 1pm was about 5 mins.
They have great sides, Black beans & yellow rice, Board walk fries, potato salad etc.
Key lime pie was very good.
Open for lunch Monday through Friday 11am — 3pm. Some additional parking in the rear. Try it out, You won’t be disappointed.

I absolutely love the smoked salmon at Culinary. They know exactly how to prepare it so that the smokey flavor doesn’t overpower the fish. Another few of my favorites are the tomato basil pie, crab bisque, and their dry rubbed ribs. Definitely go on a day that you have time to eat, as they are always busy. Prices are affordable. Open kitchen. Great wine selection.

We went here for lunch during work a few days ago and it definitely met expectations. If you’re going to eat in during lunch I definitely recommend allowing for time to get a table. It is a busy and popular spot so it takes a few minutes. I had the southwest chicken wrap with a side of potato salad. The wrap was crispy and warm, and the filling of the wrap was savory and delicious. I’m a huge fan of potato salad and theirs is uniquely perfect. The potatoes were cooked just right and the sauce was light with just enough dill and salt.
I will definitely be back as often as my work schedule allows — looking forward to trying the ribs on Wednesdays!

Wow, the Nicoise was amazing! Nicoise with a lot of Fresh Seared Tuna, probably 6 ounces at least, fingerling potatoes, boiled egg, lightly poached beans, a balsamic and olive tapenade ‘painted’ on the plate and Bibb lettuce. I didn’t know what to do with the grilled lemon slices though. The beans were tied in a package by a chive. $ 11, can you believe it?
I wanted to try Mom’s selection of squash pie, but it was gone!
So dessert brought a fruit tart with crème anglaise for me and Tiramisu for Mom. I make my own Tiramisu and like the lady fingers heavy on Marsala or coffee liqueur which I find cuts down on the fat of the Mascarpone. Theirs was more of a Tiramisu cake, not soaked in coffee or liqueur. Not my thing at all, but the berry tart with crème anglaise was superb. Lots of fresh berry flavor, I think it was topped with a raspberry coulis which really kicked it up a notch.

I can’t say enough about these guys! We had them cater our rehearsal dinner at the St. John’s County pavilion & it was phenomenal. My family all flew in from up north, so we wanted something distinctly southern. Mary et. al produced a delectable low country boil with Ah-​MAZ-​ing key lime pie for dessert. Everyone stuffed themselves. Not much more I can say, other than Mary’s staff were professional & produced a stellar meal. Love love LOVED it!
