Specialties
Mathnasium of Saginaw helps students in grades 1 – 12 understand math by teaching the way it makes sense to them. We will teach your child how to understand math in an individual setting through our unique approach that enables us to effectively explain concepts well and lend a helping hand to every student.
Our goal is to enhance your child’s math skills, understanding of math concepts, and overall school performance. At the same time, we build confidence and help families see measurable progress.
History
Established in 2012.
More than forty years ago, math educator Larry Martinek was inspired to find a better way to teach children math. Larry set out on a mission: to find an approach that would provide children with the strong foundation they needed to succeed. Over the next three decades, he painstakingly developed and assembled a blend of methods and materials.
Then, in the spring of 2002, education industry leaders Peter Markovitz and David Ullendorff made Larry and his curriculum the driving force of Mathnasium.
Today, more than 40 years after Larry first developed it, the Mathnasium Method™ is providing children all over the world increased confidence, critical thinking skills, and mathematical ability to last a lifetime.

Amal K.
Business Owner
With many years spent raising 2 children, 5 years teaching middle and high school Math and Science in Saginaw Public School System, and over 7 years teaching math at Delta College under her belt, Amal understands how stressful math can be for a child — and that it doesn’t have to be. In her role as a mother and school teacher, she has seen first-hand the importance a solid understanding of mathematics plays in a child’s academic career and that mathematics is an important building block for a strong foundation for problem solving and success in various careers and fields. She has an amazing ability to make learning fun, and an excellent rapport with children. Amal has earned a Masters in Arts in Teaching Mathematics from SVSU in 2012, a Bachelor of Arts in Education major in Math minor in Science from SVSU in 2003. Amal is excited about opening a Mathnasium center in Saginaw. She looks forward to making learning math fun and exciting for all students.
