At Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan, we work year-​round to provide enriching activities for girls. She might explore the solar system, venture on a nature hike, become a weather watcher, star in a play, enjoy a scavenger hunt, or take an amazing trip.

Best of all, she’ll do all these exciting Girl Scout activities with other girls and caring adults who will likely become close friends.

Is she up for the challenge? Is she ready to explore new activities, help her community, earn badges, compete for awards and enjoy Girl Scout adventures?

If she’s 5 to 17 years old, she can be part of the largest organization for girls on the planet.

History

Established in 2008.

Soon after Juliette Gordon Low brought Girl Scouting to the girls of Savannah, Georgia, her idea spread across the world. In just four years, Girl Scout troops were active in Michigan.

In 2008, 34 Michigan counties united, pooling together their resources and camp properties to form Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan. We expanded opportunities for girls statewide, and we now have five regional centers, located in Jackson, Kalamazoo, Lansing, Saginaw, and Ypsilanti.
