I loved my experience at Joey Biscotti.
I was walking around Safety Harbor, looking for some coffee. I asked the locals and they said, «we have Starbucks.» Where are the cute local coffee shops? I asked. They replied…“We don’t really have any, but have you tried the bakery?“
Off to the bakery I went. It was very small but as soon as I walked in the smell of deliciousness greeted me. It smelled like sweet and warm and chocolate and just yummy, I don’t really have the words to describe it. It was nice and cozy in there which was perfect because it was really cold and windy out.
The place is really small, there’s only one table which is already half full of pastry display trays full of ready to purchase treats. We sat in the only 2 chairs, pushed some of the for sale items out of the way and made ourselves at home. :)
You get a free coffee with your purchase of anything. It’s a Keurig machine in which you make the coffee yourself, nothing special. Honestly, I could have cared less that what I originally wanted was coffee since I was too busy stuffing my face with delicious little treats.
I got the sampler. It came with 4 small pieces of their best sellers: I’m pretty sure what we got were the White Chocolate Raspberry Swirl, Pumpkin and Caramel Apple, Lime Coconut Cake and Chocolate Toffee Cake Pudding. Each one more delicious than the last. Very moist, well balanced, not overpoweringly sweet goodness. My favorite was the lime coconut cake one, I hope I’m calling it the right thing… my second favorite was their chocolate toffee cake. The other 2 were delicious as well and I don’t even like sweets too much.
Services was great, we were greeted by Steve (I believe), Joey’s business partner. He was really nice and took the time to answer all our questions.
Can’t wait to go back!

Charming place located in a nice walkable section of Safety Harbor. I stopped in to get a special dessert for Christmas and Steven, the owner suggested doing an assortment rather than just one big thing. It was a perfect idea… everything was delicious and the dessert box was empty about 4 minutes after the family finished dinner!
But, even the people who said «I’m not a sweets person…» wound up DEVOURING the salted caramel cheesecake bars.

Delicious, delicious, delicious! I tried the pumpkin cinnamon bread pudding and would have to rate it as one of the most amazing desserts I’ve had in a long while. My sister had the cranberry orange bar and was thrilled too.

Outstanding place with amazing desserts. Owner is extremely friendly and gave us some great info about the area. Their award winning toffee coffee brownie is spectacular!

IMO Best Local Desserts/​Bakery place in Tampa Bay goes to Joey Biscotti! Yes, I said it! There’s another place that had a bunch of hype for their sweets. I’ve been twice. Yes they are good, but this is extraordinary, original, insightful, and such a sweet heaven. If you haven’t gone, make sure to go. There’s lots of cute little local spots in Safety Harbor, keep this one on your list. You won’t forget it after you try it.
I tried some of the key lime coconut bar and the pineapple cake with coconut pecan frosting. Oohhh myyyy! Can’t compare!!! They said they have won awards for their coffee toffee and their chocolate cake. There are so many inviting options. You can also get free coffee with your purchases. I couldn’t quite get that since it was evening.
This cute aqua little bakery will change your life for the better, or the worse because you will keep wanting it.

A delightful discovery on Main Street in Safety Harbor! We were looking for breakfast and stumbled upon this sweet (wink, wink), cozy spot. The owner was extremely welcoming and his pastries were delicious. We can’t wait to go back and try the desserts, several of which won top honors at this year’s Tampa Festival of Chocolate.

The people responsible for the items behind the counter at Joey Biscotti deserve a medal. The storefront size: menu items ratio is as good as it gets. They don’t just do the standard items well, but there’s a long list of innovative treats, that will make you laugh and cry simultaneously.
You’ll laugh at the name of the Stoner’s Paradise.
You’ll laugh as you’re overcome with joy when you learn the ingredients consist of chocolate, peanut butter, marshmallow, and more.
You’ll cry as you think of the caloric intake, and the eternal struggles of being an adult.
You’ll be discplined as you buy several items, but vow to only nibble, and stretch out your intake over several days.
And then you’ll realize how weak you are, when the 6 items don’t make it 24 hours in your house.
Joey Biscotti — the buttons on my pants are grateful that you’re not closer to my house. My heart is deeply saddened, though.

Took a walking tour of quaint downtown Safety Harbor, and made JB a destination after lunch. Glad I did!
The shop is very small and easy to miss. There is a variety of good looking brownies, cakes, cookies, and of course, biscottis, all fairly priced. The nicest fellow works there; Mr. JB, himself?
I got the giant chocolate, peanut butter, coconut, and oatmeal cookie for $ 1.50. So moist, chewy, & delicious! AND any purchase gets you a FREE K-​cup coffee! Love single cup, fresh brewed coffee.
Will be back again for homemade, yummy desserts!

Can’t believe I waited so long to post this review, everything I ate was right on the money! I mean this is what makes a regular eater a foodie… whatever that means lol. I would not have known of this place, but came by the suggestion of Lindsey as a part of UYE (Unofficial Unilocal Event). The store is small. quaint is a more fitting word, sounds kind of vintagey and that’s the vibe I get there. This is type of place that you would easily pass over if you’re always driving, but wow… the desserts were just perfection. The interesting thing is they did not make anything too sweet (overkill) and it had an authenticity made-​from-​scratch kind of taste. Definitely will return.

My husband and I decided to explore the west coast of Florida (we live near Orlando) and ended up in the lovely town of Safety Harbor.
If you are ever exploring Safety Harbor — DON’T MISS JOEY BISCOTTI’s! Because we couldn’t decide on one or two things, and because we had to bring something back for our folks to try, and because EVERYTHING smelled and looked so good…
We got one of each of the biscotti and a cup of coffee to do some dunking. Perfection.
We got a pumpkin muffin that was moist and delicious and had the best crumbly topping ever. How do that do that?
Finally, for Sunday dessert with the folks, we got a 6 different treats and had a blast doing a tasting. Of course, everyone had their favorites, but we all agreed that each one of them was delicious.
To top it all off, the owner was warm and welcoming and a pleasure to spend time in this lovely little bakery. No one does «small batch» like Joey Biscotti.
Worth the trip and we’ll definitely return. If you are ever in or around Safety Harbor, be sure to find Joey Biscotti and try something!

I have passed by this place a million times. Never went in until today. I got a piece if chocolate toffee cake. Yes I said toffee. It was yummy. I will def stop here again.
The gentleman inside was very nice.
You should stop in and try it if you are in the mood for something sweet.

I had only been here one other time with a bunch of Unilocalers after a UYE and was impressed with what they had and decided that I had to try it again while I was in Safety Harbor. I got the chocolate truffle brownie and can’t wait to try it. My wife got the PB carmel & chocolate and it looked really good too.

This is my kind of shop! Thanks Lindsey for taking us here for that UYE, I wouldn’t have found this place otherwise.
Joey Biscotti is tiny… Like if there’s 6 people inside, you’ll be stumbling over each other while trying to decide what you want to order, and hoping no one opens the door into your butt. I was torn between a bunch of different things, and was excited to see they had sampler boxes. I was then sad to see they were mixed with chocolate sweets. I was happy again when the woman behind the counter offered to switch some boxes around and give me one minus chocolate. I was even more happy when the things I tried were delicious!
In my box, I had a cranberry bar, a key lime bar, a piece of salted caramel cheesecake, and a caramel apple bar. The only one I wouldn’t order the full-​size of was the cranberry one. The others were phenomenal. I’m not a cheesecake person, but I would dive into theirs again. It was a little salty, a little sweet, and super rich. The key lime was the perfect mix of sweet and tart. I contemplated walking back and ordering full-​size ones to take home with me, but decided against intentionally giving myself diabetes that day.

Holy melt in your mouth Mexican Brownies Batman! This place has got it going on. Stopped into this cute little bakery to pick up some sweet treats. So much going on I didn’t know where to start.
We opted for two of the sample packs as well as some biscotti. I mean, when a place names themselves after a specific treat, it would be wrong not to try it right? We got the 8 pack for $ 15; 2 each of 3 flavors and then one flavor my husband wanted and one I wanted. All of them were delicious and hard not to scarf down.
They happened to have some samples of the Mexican Brownie near the register. So two of those immediately got added to our growing bag of loot upon the chocolatey goodness melting on our tongues. They were ooey-​gooey-​fudge brownies that melted in your mouth but magically stayed in tact.
Give JB’s a try for your next party. They make some fabulous treats and will help you celebrate any special occasion in a very special way.

I am not a huge sweets eater, but if I lived closer to Joey Biscotti I would likely be enjoying desserts a lot more often.
After a big lunch at the Whistle Stop Grill just down the block, I was walking along the sidewalk and spotted the sign for Joey Biscotti. This is a European-​style small-​batch bakery and sweets shop that puts about 20 different items in the main display case and also showcases jars of flavored Italian-​style biscotti cookies.
The owner had just slid a tray of something new into the oven, and he came up front to visit with me and help me make a selection. Since I was enjoying an afternoon of exploring I told him that I needed to pick something that wouldn’t melt in the car, and ultimately he helped me to pick a pineapple coconut cake thing that was drizzled with a caramel icing.
The prices were very affordable, and everything looked delicious. When I finally enjoyed the cake it was extremely moist and the flavors of pineapple and coconut were fantastic. There are lots of parks in the Safety Harbor area, so I can imagine picking up a little something at Joey Biscotti and then sitting in the shade as you enjoy your treat.

Brownies and cookies and cakes oh my! This bakery is small but they have lots of goodies to choose from. Was torn between the salted caramel bar, oh so good looking brownies or the oatmeal peanut butter bar with chocolate and caramel on top. Oatmeal peanut butter was the winner!
The owner let us sample the Mexican brownie. And love that they offer free coffee with any purchase. A nice touch! Very clean bakery but dangerously addicting!

Get me away from this place ASAP! I might just develop diabetes if I stayed there any longer.
Located on Main Street, this unassuming bakery is such a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. As soon as you walk in, you can feel your blood sugar rise. Everything, and I mean everything, is so tempting. I walked in only wanting to purchase one item and walked out with three. I just couldn’t decide.
I went with the lime coconut bar, carrot cake and some gooey square (think pineapple coconut cake with German chocolate frosting).
I have to admit that I’m writing this review from the parking space across the street-​I just couldn’t wait til I got home… I know, I have a problem :(
All of my selections were superb! Every single one and I honestly do not have a favorite.
The owner was so kind and informed me they can make a special order cake, given 48 hour notice.
Run as fast as you can to Joey Biscotti and make sure you take your insulin right away. You too won’t be able to stop at just one bite.

I was in Clearwater for 3 days. We took a drive over to Safety Harbor and stumbled upon this very charming bakery. I met one of the owners, Steven, who was very pleasant. Not being able to decide on which treat we wanted, we got several (can you say gorging?). We started with the Lime Coconut Bar with Bittersweet Drizzle. OMG! I have NEVER tasted anything so good. The lime gooey part was like the consistency of custard and was beyond delicious. The chocolate drizzle on the top was the perfect compliment to the lime. If you go here and can only get 1 thing, I definitely recommend this. It was just SO good.
Next, we dug into a piece of the Sour Cream Crumb Cake (ok, I recommend this too!). WOW! Also, beyond delicious. The cake was so moist and flavorful, and the topping you just couldn’t get enough of. I was in love!
The third thing we got, I forgot the name of. If I had to describe it, I would call it like a cobbler. It was in a tin and was enough for several people to enjoy. It had all kinds of different berries in it — with a wonderful topping. More extreme deliciousness!
The next day, we HAD to go back. Had to. Not an option not to visit this place again! It was Friday and they were open till 8pm so it worked out perfectly. This night we met the second owner, Joe. These guys are the kind of people you want to be your friends. They were warm and welcoming and just very pleasant. At Joe’s recommendation, I got the Apple Pie Cheesecake Bar. It was an excellent recommendation! It was exactly what the name says it is, like apple pie, but with a thin middle of cheesecake. SO GOOD. My friend had the award-​winning Chocolate Fudge Cake. I have never eaten cake that good.
Besides all the delicious, mouth-​watering treats, you also can enjoy a FREE cup of coffee. There’s a table out front to sit at, and a table with a few chairs inside. The shop itself is very clean and charming. The prices were extremely reasonable. There were some things that were $ 2.50, $ 3, $ 4, and the tin of cobbler was only $ 6 and was quite enough to share with others. Nothing was expensive. I was so glad that I stopped in here; I enjoyed talking to the owners.
If you are anywhere near Clearwater or the surrounding area, this place is a must-​visit. I’m actually glad I don’t live in Safety Harbor, because if I did, I would be at Joey’s every day getting something different — and I certainly don’t need to be adding to my already-​large-​enough-​frame! It was great while it lasted!
Besides Joey’s, the town is really cute and charming to walk around (plenty of free street parking all throughout the town). There’s a nice harbor with manatees, tons of birds, and beautiful boats. You can walk out on a pier and enjoy the view. Go here. Go now. It’s all good!

This is the first bakery I’ve been to that serves goodies like the ones my mom loves to make. That’s a good thing, ‘cuz she’s a hell of a baker, but lives 45 minutes away. Joey Biscotti is a much quicker drive.
Before coming in, I’d already had my sights on JB as a potential 2^nd stop for my UYE (unofficial Unilocal event). I think it was my gut instinct (haha) but I was right. The desserts here are phenomenal!
I had the Mexican Fiesta Brownie and Jessica S. went for the Lime Coconut Bar with semisweet chocolate drizzle. We both enjoyed our own treats but exchanged bits and sampled each other’s.
My brownie was perfectly dense and sweet without overdoing it. The cayenne in this dessert gives it a little bit of a kick, but it’s not horribly spicy. Definitely a unique item.
The lime coconut bar was Florida in a square. The textures and tastes were lively and decadent, with the lime taking a spotlight as the fresh, bright top note. The chocolate drizzle acted as a sweet sidekick, and together they made a lovely pair.
After nibbling on these, we split a Gooey Pineapple Lover’s cake with coconut pecan frosting. Sounds sinful, right? Ohhhh, it was. Moist cake, swirled with the taste of pineapple and pecans, carried me off to a land where dessert is every meal of the day and calories don’t matter. Then I took a sip of coffee and woke up from my daydream.
Speaking of coffee, you’ll get a free cup of it with your purchase. They have a cute little Cuisinart brewer with K-​pods, and all of the fixin’s, for a good cup of joe to accompany your sweets.
It’s also worth mentioning that their goods are on rotation here. It’s best to call ahead to see what’s on the menu before you come in. The prices are definitely fair for the freshness of the ingredients they use, and I think rotating their items gives them even more value.
I can’t wait to see what surprises they’ll bake up next!
