For the last 17 years, Parties for Peanuts has been the premier children’s entertainment co. in Northern NJ. We have something for everyone — clowns, magicians, costume characters, popcorn, cotton candy and snow cone machines, chocolate fountains, bounces and other inflatables, pony rides, petting zoos, balloon deliveries, balloon decorations, rides, DJ’s, caricaturists and much more!

Based in Saddle Brook, we are a mobile company, and will travel to your home, restaurant, school, park, or wherever you’re celebrating. We play songs and games, pose for pictures with the children and the cake, provide a gift for the birthday child, lollipops for all the kids, do balloon sculpture, and face painting/​tattoos.

Our staff is trained, experienced, background-​checked and great with kids! Our costumes are first-​rate, and kept in excellent shape. The lollipops we offer are kosher, usable for our observant clients as well as the general public. We take great pains in assuring that everything we do is of the highest quality.

History

Established in 1998.

In 1993, Howell Mayer did a friend a favor, and worked as Santa for Christmas Eve. He loved it so much that he decided to supplement his acting career by performing at birthday parties. After working for 2 entertainment companies over 5 years, he decided to start his own company in 1998 and name it Parties for Peanuts, with the goal of making every event a wonderful lasting memory. We carefully custom create every event, as we are keenly aware that every child and circumstance is different. Originally based in Fort Lee, it started small, with about 5 costumes, and has since grown to over 70! And still growing. Since moving to Saddle Brook in 2005, we now have a spacious garage to house our many «friends» as well as our 3 cotton candy machines, 2 popcorn machines and snow cone machine, and can deliver these directly to your party.

Business Owner

Howell has owned and run Parties for Peanuts since 1998, having gained experience as a performer playing characters for 5 years prior. He has done Santa more times than he can count (Okay, 795!) and has imparted his years of experience to his personally trained staff. He also works part-​time as an actor, appearing in many local productions as well as films/​videos. He graduated from Ithaca College with a BS in Business Admin., and was part of the Bombers’ Division III championship baseball team in 1980. He runs his co. out of Saddle Brook, NJ, where he lives with his wife, Gabi, and dog, Romeo.
