G and G Distributors

We ordered a bunch of different sized vases for a wedding my company is doing in December. I was very impressed with the pricing and relieved to find the sizes I needed. But when I got to the shipping part, it cost us more to have them shipped than to actually purchase the vases! Not to mention every single vase (total of 20) looked like they had water spots on them and/​or were used. I had to scrub the water spots or whatever the heck it was off of every single vase. Very frustrating to have paid so much money to get them and have all of them look like crap. Not very impressed with the quality of the glass but after spending a few hours cleaning, I finally feel like I can present them to our customer without them thinking we ordered some cheap plastic vases. I wish this company took more pride in cleaning their product before shipping them to customers.

Great place if you are a Home Décor and party planning passionate individual as myself. They sell ribbons, party accessories, artificial trees, flowers, vases, glassware, and sooo much more! Great accessories for weddings and again, party planning. They sell in quantities for the most part. Returns are very limited, you must be a member and spend $ 30 a pop at each visit to make any purchase.

I’ve both visited the store and ordered on-​line and it’s true what they say about customer service — in the store itself, the «workers» on the floor couldn’t be nicer or more helpful, but the staff in the office act suspicious, bordering on rude.
You’ve got to watch them if you order on-​line — if they don’t have items in stock — either sold out or on back order — they charge you for them anyhow and show them on the packing slip. You actually have to call them to get a credit back for the unavailable items. Best case this is bad accounting practice, worse case it’s theft.
The selection and prices are pretty good — kind of a mix of quality so if you’re unsure and can go into the store to look first it’s worth it since their return policy is not so good.
I’ve noticed that their packaging both for online shipments and in the store is cheap and they jam as much as they can into each box so you end up with squished items. For on-​line ordering I’ve had better luck with AFloral and SaveOnCrafts.

I am only giving G&G one star because some of the sales help was so lovely. The management behaves like it’s doing you a favor. The front office employees are rude and abrupt. There are no real bargains here even if you are «in the trade». This kind of shopping experience is what pushes you to shop online where the prices are better and you don’t need service with a smile!

I shopped at G&G Distributors 4 times in the past few months. The staff are all Spanish (who I must say are very nice); besides the Asians who own the store. You would think that after spending $ 1000 (but I spent triple that amount) that they would offer some type of in-​store discount – but they don’t. My fiancé wasn’t feeling the fact that they didn’t give any type of discounts so each time we shopped he asked Kathy who happens to be in charge if they would give us 10% off because after all, their prices aren’t that great. And, each time he asked she said «no». We figured they are very cheap, and do not appreciate your business at all. I do not like how they treat you when they ring up your sale; and, I believe they think they are the only distributors in north jersey that have a big warehouse so they believe floral design folk are at their mercy. But not me! I woke up and began to search for other distributors. Also beware of their return policy. You can’t return or exchange a darn thing!!! That’s absolutely crazy! We had to beg her to get store credit (we had our receipt) for one item that was in perfectly great shape. She didn’t even want us to exchange it! They don’t appreciate your business shoppers, so find some place else. I did. You can find better deals at Hobby Lobby and other wholesale outlets. I’m not shopping there anymore. I’m done with G&G Distributors.

I was looking everywhere for feather butterflies for my wedding supplies… and found out about their website through following one of their Ebay product listing.
Shipping is a flat $ 5.95 per order and there is a $ 30 minimum order. Butterflies are the cheapest I can find online (even cheaper than Oriental Trading Co) and they have a lot of varieties of butterflies and variety of sizes too. I also bought a mesh for decoration to make pew bows. I have a feeling I’ll order more items from them for my wedding supplies :)

The last time I went there, I was looking to purchase some Christmas decorations for a tree, ribbon, garlands, etc. A family member has a florist store and a membership at G&G. So I make use of her card every now and then.
Their selection is enormous. You could literally spend your entire day browsing. There are some nice items to be bough. But there are quite a few chintzy items.
Don’t expect some amazing customer service or superb quality. If that’s what you’re looking for, you are in the wrong place. Go to Neiman Marcus, Pottery Barn or Pier 1 Imports instead.
The manager can be quite obnoxious. Don’t pay her much attention. Make sure you keep an eye on her while she counts your items and inputs the quantity in her computer.
Also, note that they charge a 20% restocking fee on ALL returns and exchanges. A lot of the items (including all flowers) are non-​returnable. I assume they don’t want «DYI brides on a budget» using the flowers for a day or two and then returning them.

For anyone planning a wedding or shower event, this place is bank! It’s like a Michael’s on steroids. Tons of flowers, ribbons, gift wrap, vases, accessories… you name it, they have it. Prices are good amd you really can’t beat the selection. There is a minimum yearly membership fee.

I created my wedding bouquet over 30 years ago with flowers from here! I have come back over the years for items for parties, weddings and more! Great prices, helpful sales people, great selections! It is a warehouse so be prepared for shelves of items not cutesy shelves of products!

I’ve used this place often … firstly, in response to the bad customer service: I ask for what I want, I’m told where to go and they are usually correct. It’s a warehouse/​wholesaler — don’t expect consultations from the staff on what would look best for your event.
They have gone out of their way more than once to order items they no longer have in stock, more over… have gone out of their way to explain certain items and caution against misuse of others. I really do not expect the staff to be more helpful. If I expect more from their customer service, then its time for me to go to Nordstroms/​Saks or Neimans. I’m a bit of a professional… people use me for my ideas. I just need to look around, see what I need and make my own decisions. If I don’t find it… THEN I ask for help and generally, unless they are completely new or my accent is too heavy for them to understand, they will guide me in the right direction.
Secondly — with regard to some of the merchandise being chintzy… err… it carries goods intended for (usually) one occasion. Unless you’re willing to pay for the good stuff… most it if is going to fall apart.
And lastly… the prices are good. Generally, with the exception of a few items, their prices are lower than most other outlets, including «wholesale clubs» and Party City. On my last purchase I saved 33% from the lowest price I found online for the item.
Am I happy? Yes. Would I use them again? Yes. How long have I been using them? Gosh… over 25 years (at least). Have I ever found their customer service to be rude? No. (And frankly, unless they cursed out my mother and spat on my children, I’d be back).

Borrowed a membership card from a coworker a while back, anyone can get in the door it seems but in order to purchase you need to be a member. We perused the aisles for a while and finally entered the flower section. The goal of the trip was to find silk flowers for our wedding and boy did we succeed! Picked up (6) bouquets of lovely red ranunculus flowers for about $ 14 apiece. Quality and color was great. I was able to combine two into one large bridal bouquet for myself and tied all of them with twine to hide the stems. Bouquet held up beautifully throughout the entire day and even months later a couple bridesmaids still have the bouquets in their apartments. Mine is currently sitting on our dining room table in a mason jar and more than a couple people have touched them convinced they were real.
The warehouse of course is huge, and they have a TON of materials for anything you need for your wedding or party. But the whole place felt really dingy, I know it’s a warehouse but it was cold and dark and dirty in appearance. The outside is no better, nasty yellow paint on the outside made me think twice about venturing inside. Ultimately I’m glad we went but I doubt I’ll ever go back.

Here’s the deal. I don’t work for G&G but I’ve used them many times over the years. They have an amazing selection of items and great prices on candle holders, vases, table décor especially for weddings at great prices. Yes, there is a membership fee, but its worth it in savings when you purchase. I agree the staff is not overly helpful– think of them more of cashiers and stock people –the good news is no one is hovering over you as you explore the store. Sorry Bella, but having been a frequent shopper at the store, I can see why there is a no stroller policy. Policies are created for everyone– all strollers, even the 4 year olds that people strap into them who CAN grab items and pull them down. There is a TON of stuff, especially glassware and one bump of a stroller or a child in one old enough to reach out or throw a bottle or toy out of it is a safety issue for THE CHILD especially. Sorry you were offended, but a store can set their own policies as they see fit, and that includes strollers or children when they feel there is a safety issue involved. Not every place is suitable for a child, even yours

This store has a ton of great supplies but the employees are horrible. Every time I call or go in, I get an attitude, am misled on the product, or scolded for viewing the product in the bags (which did not match the display i was told it would when I got home). It’s an easy and accessible source for feathers, trim and ribbon, but I’m looking for another option, I can’t stand how this place is run.

Thank you for sharing your story. I think that is absolutely horrible and discriminatory! Actually, a disgrace! Shame on them! Bella, I have absolutely no ties, connections, or friends who work in the store, but I actually feel the need to say sorry. Sorry that that happened to you. That is truly absurd! I can relate to not being able to carry ANYTHING over a certain weight, for a long period of time because I have sciatica and feel your pain.

If you throw parties or are planning a wedding, you should know about G&G!
They sell all sorts of party supplies, ribbons, wrapping paper, vases, decorations, and fake flowers. When you arrive, don’t be put off by the «to the trade only» signs. Basically, they operate like Costco, where you have to buy a «membership» for a reasonable price ($ 10? $ 20? I can’t remember), then you can buy anything you want. Don’t buy the membership before you purchase. When you walk in, just don’t break your stride. ;)
I found this place to be quite fun to wander around. I wish I was planning something and needed supplies!
I’m not giving it more stars for a few reasons:
1) Customer Service: read the previous review from Bella.
2) Quality. A lot of the stuff there seemed really chintzy. Just know what you’re buying!
The store is generally pretty neat and clean, considering it’s a warehouse store.
