W F Gormley & Sons

A dear friend passed away and we learned that Gormley was handling the burying activities. Though we are unrelated and live in Los Angeles, Patrick kept us informed as to all the proceedings. He located where her parents are interred and arranged for her to be buried in an adjacent location. She had no family of her own. We are indebted to him for all the extra effort it gave to her burial and to the time he took to call and let us know what was happening.

Had a wonderful recent experience with W.F. Gormley & Sons.
1. Extremely responsive: Whether at 8 am or 11:30 pm, my call was always answered. And not just by an answering service but by Patrick Gormley himself, who was managing my father’s service.
2. Respectful of religious + cultural traditions: I come from a religious, immigrant community and the team at W.F. Gormley was very respectful of of our three-​day affair, marked with multiple services at multiple locations. Not only did they give us the space to practice our traditions, but the team did their best to assist us in observing them — whether that meant carrying hymnals, arranging flowers, or arriving at venues in advance of the family.
3. Kind and compassionate: The team at W.F. Gormley was so warm and compassionate. This may seem like a small thing — but the chaos of these emotionally fraught events (bickering family, multiple events in tandem, coordinating vendors) can lead to a lot of frayed nerves. The genuine warmth of the staff at W.F. Gormley was surprisingly comforting and surprisingly rare (based on my recent experience).
My father’s passing was the first funeral of my adult life and I took on the challenge of arrangements totally blind. I’m so grateful to say I could not have asked for an easier, more seamless experience than the one I had with the team at W. F. Gormley & Sons; every single person I interacted with was so full of patience and consideration and grace. It’s clear to me why this business has thrived for over 100 years.

WOULD NOT USE ANYONE ELSE… I have used Gormley’s for my father-​in-​law and my brother-​in-​law. Recently a close friend had a family tragedy, I recommended they call Gormley’s, as I expected their service was professional and caring, and helped the family through difficult issues. they are the best

We recently had a funeral for my father-​in-​law and my sister in laws had a better understanding of this place and their services, because of their previous experience with them doing my mother-​in-​laws funeral as well. As for me, I didn’t know what to expect.
Patrick was assisting us and was very helpful along the way. A problem occurred when a little bit of miscommunication occurred with Patrick and my sister-​in-​law about the flower stands so we ended up not getting them, even though we wanted them. We called them around 10 at night, after the first mass, and then at 9 am the next morning… they were ready and there for our funeral service. I couldn’t believe it! They were able to provide within just a matter of hours overnight! That was a huge plus.
He was very patient from the beginning, from when we were picking out the casket, to the end, when he stayed through our whole service… when it wasn’t even in English. He is such a great successor to this business and I hope it thrives. Thank you so much for helping us through such a difficult time. Will definitely recommend.

When our father passed away, Patrick and his father came immediately and from that moment, they were responsive, helpful, professional, and wonderful in every way. More importantly, they have been patient and understanding. During this time of grief, I haven’t always been thinking clearly and have repeated questions and have asked for clarification. Patrick always answered his cell phone when we called, and responded to emails instantly. Unflappable, steady and kind, I felt that Patrick was with us every step, as we planned for our father’s cremation, memorial and burial. I cannot recommend this amazing family business more highly. Thank you for helping us through this difficult time.

I have nothing but good things to say about the staff at Gormley and Sons. Patrick is the person who has been helping us through this difficult time with the passing of my mother. He and Glenn have done a great job so far making all of the arrangements for us. It is difficult to decide who will help arrangements in such a difficult time. That’s why I am posting this review. So others can have the comfort of knowing their loved ones will taken care of. I highly recommend them to anyone.

Nicely furnished, large old historic home, beautiful chapel, very professional staff who help to guide thru the process without trying to upsell. 1 star taken off because they don’t have a projection system for slide shows but they are working on it.
