Top Hand Ranch Carriage Company

The horses and carriages are beautiful and the staff & driver were great to work with! The rates are very affordable and I was surprised to discover that they offer carriage rides throughout Sacramento (not just Old Sac).

We use this company yesterday for a carriage ride from old town down to the state capital and back
Was a lovely experience
Horses are well behaved and appear to be very well taken care of
Our driver was pleasant and just let us enjoy our tour

We just used them for our wedding! They showed up on time, the driver was so nice, and overall it was a great experience! They are very affordable and I would definitely recommend them for any special occasion.

The ride is a bargain. Relax, enjoy the ride and the view. Cheaper than any limo! Our driver was very courteous, even if it did take a bit of time while the driver was grooming the horses and adjusting their harness in between changing passengers.
It’s amazing to see how well mannered the horses are with all of the distractions. But it looks like these guys know what they are doing.

We were in Old Sacramento with our 6 year old grandson on Friday afternoon, June 14^th, 2013.
The young woman driver was rather unfriendly. First of all, she was busy talking to someone else on the sidewalk and finally asked us if we wanted a ride, as if we were annoying her. We climbed into the carriage and then were scolded by her for climbing into the carriage BEFORE she had taken her seat. Ok, that’s fine but why didn’t she say so before? she was standing next to us. She then said it was a security issue… no problem with that… just tell your customers !
she never said another word after that, never smiled or even acknowledged the 6 year old boy with us. It could have been a much more pleasant experience with a different driver. I noticed another driver, an older gentleman, who was smiling and chatting with his customers. Too bad we were not lucky enough to get him.
I guess she did not care about getting a tip. My husband who is usually a very generous tipper did not leave anything.
the $ 10 fee for all 3 of us was reasonable. However, I think it would be nice to have the driver give some explanation of what we were seeing. I had this type of ride in other cities and the driver gave a little history lesson, nothing extensive but it makes the tour more interesting. Here it was total silence on the driver’s part.

Wow! I wanted to surprise my GF with a carriage ride from our B&B to the theater. Thought maybe it was a long shot — but it happened! Wonderful ride through Midtown to our destination!
