Thomas Edison Language Institute

My daughter attended this school 2 yrs only m. The first years was great and my daughter enjoyed it. But the 2 bs yrs when this school got a new Vice Principal everything went downhill fast. Bullying was in full force. Three 8^th graders attempted to jump my then 10 yr old 6^th grader not knowing she is a black belt. I always tell my daughter to walk away from a situation if at all possible but in this case she had no choice. The VP tried to suspend my daughter because she got the best of the 3 and had the audacity to excuse what the other 3 did by saying «kids will be kids!» Whatever after speaking with the Principal my daughter was not suspended since their were witnesses. At the end of the school year I put her in another school where she is happy and gets along with everyone. Goodbye, Thomas Edison!

The bullying in this school is atrocious! My daughter is a straight A student who has been nominated twice as the most caring kid in her class and received the anti bully award, yet she has to endure teasing from kids three years older than her! She no longer enjoys school and begs to stay home every day now. Not to mention there is always a lice problem here that they fail to tell parents about! I can’t wait until next school year. She will be going to a Charter school along with her two besties.

My childs teacher is really nice and I can tell she likes her job. My daughter has improved her reading skills here this year. They have a few different programs that are pretty cool and unique. The principal is pretty active. Parking lot pick up times suck because of the way its set up. Overcrowded classrooms honestly. But the dual language program is cool if your kid starts there in kindergarten.
