I usually always come here for a great grilled chicken salad but today it was kinda gross because I didn’t see the cashier change his gloves after handling all the cash in his register. Kinda gross, especial after I saw him handle my food. Eww. His name was on my receipt as David Thao.

This place is my absolute go to at the mall. The fire escape is my usual choice, and I always make it a meal. The fries here are legit! I always cover them in the seasoned salt that is located at the end of the counter. Something about watching my food getting prepared in front of me adds to the excitement of eating. Seating is a hit or miss in this food court, since you have to gauge based on how busy the mall is, and if your stuck by the kids play area be prepared for a noisy meal. In price comparison to other meals available in the food court it is on the mid to higher end, but totally worth it!

First time trying this spot with the bf. I was craving a philly cheesesteak so we decided to try this place. I ordered the first sandwich, can’t remember the name but we ordered a large(8.90 for sandwich only) and upgraded to a meal(came with large drink and fries). Wendy helped us and I give her 5 stars for customer service. Sweet gal! The sandwich was okay tasting, I felt like it could’ve had more flavor. The sandwich had mushrooms, bell peppers, steak and provolone cheese. They also asked if I wanted mayo, tomatoes and lettuce in which I said yes. Fries, it was ehh. Felt like it was soggy. And they used old oil to fry it. Portion could’ve been a bit more as well. Overall, I’d give this steak escape another shot. Better luck next time!

THISPLACEISSOYUMMY. Whenever I’m at Arden and I’m hungry, this is the place to eat! Been doing so ever since I was little. Out of all the food places that are in this area(Carl’s jr, Taco Bell, hot dog on a stick, panda, Thai kitchen, Japanese cuisine) this place has been here the longest. Bomb fries and bomb sandwich.

Read your reviews Steak Escape! Obviously the old fashioned is your best advice. Go back to what it used to be and you’ll never worry about losing your returning customers. My recent visit was so disappointing and I have eaten here for many years. Your bread sucks and your portions sucks!

Horribly bland. Meat to bread ratio out of whack. Decently priced.

I used to love this place. Ordered my usual Grand Escape combo. Prices are now at $ 12.68 for a Large Sandwich, drink, and fries for very sub par taste. The service was decent, could have been more professional. I used to go here when I was younger, but this might be the last time. Very disappointed.

We wanted to try something new, and we stop at this place. I understand the other reviews about how great the sandwiches are because we try a miniature 6 inch sandwich and chicken was ok. But when we open our steak salad, greasy, steak was just horrible. Anyways I go back and show the lady how the lettuce was bad. They got mad of me and do u think I was gonna ask for a new one? no thanks. They were rude and did not even apologize. NEVERGOINGTOEATTHERE If you feel like eating sandwiches, subway is right next to them.

A little steak sandwich spot in the food court @ Arden Fair Mall. What happened to the old staff? It’s not the same, but still delish! Just wished it was like before though, than 5 stars wouldn’t even be enough for this spot. The one and onlyyyyyyy thing that we get here is the FIREESCAPE! It will be the best thing you eat here. We ask for extra jalapenos and salsa. They bread is freashly made in the back. They have some pretty good fries, and if you like cheese and bacon, they have something called«Loaded Fries» and it is loaded with cheese and bacon. The girl refilled our drinks for $.75, i’m not sure if it is the fixed price or not. Everything is done right infront of you, they are fast and make it to your taste. You can ask them to add or subtract stuff if you’d like. Anyways, forget everything else on the menu get the dam FIREESCAPE!

Ugh! Why did I eat here? This greasy fast food sandwich place will send you straight to the toilet and remind you quickly why it’s never smart to eat at the food court in the mall!

I would come to Arden Fair mall for nothing but steak escape, that’s how much I like it. It is kind of expensive as all mall food tends to be, and it’s probably not fresh a lot of the times you go there, but eh, it’s still something unique that you can’t easily find other places. The staff is usually pretty dull and lazy but I’m not here for the service(neither are they apparently). The first time I had the fries I thought it was the coolest thing ever. It really does need to be cheaper though for me to keep coming back in the long run. Other than that– when it’s made well and it’s hot and fresh, it’s hard to find anything that compare except maybe a philly cheesesteak from Tony Lukes or Jim’s. That’s right– philly.

People said’” Steak Escape is the best”. I must have gone to Steak Escapes evil twin. Service was nice, but the grill cook looked soooo unhappy. After the ladies at the end screamed our order at us we received great sandwiches and under cooked fries. Extra cheese sauce is close to a dollar. After $ 20 you can feel dissappointed or semi satisfied. I suggest sandwiches only.

First of all i would like to say that… they dont make em like they use to! I bought the reg size steak sandwich and after the last two times id been there i remebered to order extra meat since they had gotten skimpy from a few years ago, maybe quite a few years ago… I do go to malls much. In anycase the sandwich, fries and a drink with a side of ranch cost me over 13 $ …kind of expensive but im never dissapointed once I sit down to eat… delicious every time! I could eat it every day. Got my Dr. Pepsi as well. Suggestions…Get extra meat.

So every time I go to the mall with my fiancé he always wants to eat at Panda Express. I’m not a huge fan of Chinese food, nor food courts at the mall. I don’t know why, must be a crowd thing. Anyway, after reading reviews on here and always seeing this place at the Arden Mall I decided to try it out while my fiancé wanted Panda Express. I ordered the Cajun chicken sandwich and it was so good. I really enjoyed it. I’ve been on a Cajun kick lately. It’s chicken, onions, Cajun seasoning, and american cheese. It’s not spicy it just has a kick to it. I want to go back and try a Philly cheese-steak sandwich. They also have a buffalo chicken sandwich I want to try. My only downside was the fries. My fries we’re beyond soggy. They we’re under cooked also. They make everything fresh but I think they timed the fries wrong. I don’t like to complain, so I ate some. Next time I do want to try the loaded fries(they come with cheese, bacon, and something else) and I will make sure to tell them to fully cook the fries :)

Used to be one of my go to chains. After experiencing some fine authentic cheesesteak the chain pales in comparison. Provolone on a cheesesteak, Bah Humbug. Anyways I will happily give them my business because they run a good restaurant. I will just define there sandwich as a steak hoagie. BTW this review is in good fun as I do recommend them.

I really did not think I would write a review of a restaurant inside the mall, but I think I need to write a quick recommendation for Steak Escape in Arden Faire Mall. Steak Escape has recently won an award for safety excellence being among the top 10 out of over 7500 restaurants inspected by Sacramento County. I really am not big on food safety, as I practice an «I don’t want to know» policy on what restaurants do to my food, but I am giving them four stars for their great customer service and commitment to customer appreciation. This month marks their 20th Anniversary in operation at Arden, and they are offering a pretty amazing meal deal for only FIVEDOLLARS! You get a cheese steak, fries and soda! I love places like this because that is their original 1990 price tag and restaurants are a tough business, yet this place has made it through all this time with the customer support and they know it! I wish only that this place was more conveniently located, as I only eat here when I shop since it is on the second floor of a mall that is always packed. If you are really feeling hungry, they also have a food challenge for $ 22 which gets you a free shirt and pic on their wall of fame(beneath my pic of course) if you finish it within 30 minutes, but you can keep the shirt if done within the hour. If you do the challenge, let your food cool down first and keep the fries in the cup as it will stay warmer that way. Anyways, this place must be good to be getting a four star review from my stingy ass, so next time you find yourself in the mall, stop in, and have yourself a treat.
