Superb Auto Repair Smog & Tire Center

Came in this morning to get a tune up and air filter cleaned only 73 bucks not bad at all and they had my car ready in less than an hr. I will be returning !

I went in a few weeks ago to have my tires replaced. The guy (probably owner) who did my car seemed like a nice person, and they were able to change 2 sets of tires in about 10 minutes. They will charge you about $ 15 per tire if you want to bring your own tire to change, I did this since they did not have the brand of tires I wanted.
After visiting this shop about 3 times (all tire related work), I can say that the guy who does the work seems to do things in a rush. He uses an impact to put the lug nuts on without hand threading them first, this increases the likelihood of cross threading. He also doesn’t follow the star pattern when he torques them down. Asides from that, their service is good enough that I would recommend a friend here.
I cannot speak about their auto repair services though, since I haven’t had any repair work done here.

I finally took the time this past weekend to get some necessary things done to my car. The work was finished in an excellent time. Very competitive pricing. Workmanship is awesome. Service is outstanding. They have a repeat customer and would recommend.

Autozone doesn’t do the free check engine light code reading anymore. The tech at Autozone said to check PennySavers for a free CEL code read from Superb.
I went online, printed the coupon, and drove to Superb. I walked in the office and talked to the guy behind the counter (owner?) and showed him my coupon. He gave me the «damn, another one of these?» look and shoved the piece of paper back to me. He then told me to repark my truck closer to the garage. I haven’t even put the truck in park yet and this guy opens the door and tells me to get out. He plugs in his reader to the OBDII slot and tells me that there is only one code and it’s P0155.
I’ve done some reading online and knew that P0155 is a bad O2 sensor. I thanked him and then asked how much it would cost to replace a bad O2 sensor. He grabs his reader and walks away and tells me that it is not an O2 sensor and he’ll need to do diagnostics. I asked again that even if it’s not, how much would he charge. He walked away some more and yells «it’s not an oxygen sensor, they’re usually P0130 code!» I thanked him once more and drove off.
5 stars for having a coupon for a free service that you didn’t want to honor, but had to. Minus 4 stars for not wanting business, being rude, and not willing to have a discussion with a potential customer. You’d probably have to speak the same language or be from the same country as these guys to not get ripped off. Next time, I’ll shell out the $ 50 for an OBDII reader.
By the way P0155 is a bad bank 2-​sensor 1 oxygen sensor for an ’01 Toyota Tundra.

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!! they ripped me off so bad! they over charge on everything. they told me I needed a new fuel pump and charged me $ 700.00. I got it done and the problem still wasn’t fixed. then they just gave up, saying they didn’t know what was wrong with it, and didn’t give me my money back!!! also, they have 3 complaints filed against them on the Better business buerau!!!

Had to remove a couple stars. I’ve been giving this place a lot of my business for the past year. Although most work has been completed, I’m not very happy on their pricing. After receiving work done on my car yesterday, I was told that I would need new wheel bearings (told this over the phone). When I arrive to pick up the car, they told me that it was the wheel hub that needed to be replace. They quoted me $ 450 installed for both front wheel hubs. That sounded pretty high, so when I got home, I checked on the internet (
) and they sell the wheel hubs for $ 43 and change, so I bought two. Autopartsgogo have free shipping and when I ordered from them last week, it arrived the next day. So, for around $ 95 I’ll have my parts, so labor should not be an additional $ 355. Superb charges around $ 90 an hour for general labor. For example, I had the right side axle installed (I supplied the part) and it was a flat $ 60. I also wanted to have a new head gasket and new valve lifters installed. I have previously bought these parts many months ago. Superb, like Foreign Auto Repair said that it would be in the thousands of $$$ to do, whereas, Japanese Imports on Jst said it would be less than $ 500. Who do I trust?
Speaking of labor, I dropped the car off around 8am. I get a call at 9:40am and they tell me they installed all my motor mounts. I supplied the parts, so how the hell does this equate to $ 300 for the install? First I was quoted that the $ 300 would include the transmission mount, too, which I supplied, however, when they called at 9:40am, it was to inform me that it would take an addition 2 hours more to install the transmission mount, which of course, meant more money. I told them to skip it, since it didn’t really need to be replaced at this time (both Superb and Japanese Imports stated the tranny mount was still good).
I’ll have my wheel hubs delivered in a few day, however, I’m not going to go back to have Superb install them. For starters, I always have to take the bus from the shop and back to the shop. That’s a hassle. I’m going to have a local business downtown/​midtown do the install. I used to have Foreign Auto Repair on 19^th work on my car, but their pricing is just as shady as Superb. My plan this time is to give Yee’s Auto Tech a shot or at least get an estimate. I read one review and that person said Yee’s pricing was higher than another shop down the road for the same repair. I don’t know, but I don’t want to keep shopping around for the best prices, I just need to have my parts installed at a convenient location to where I’ll be, whether at home or work. If Yee’s price to install the wheel hubs is higher than Japanese Imports, then I’ll just stick with Japanese Imports. I’ve given them a lot of business in the past as well, and they have always came through, just that their prices is a little high. We’ll see.
BTW, I was going to have a smog check done, but I asked them to visually check it out first, as I have a CARB exempt cold air intake installed, but I removed the lower portion as it was raining the last time I drove the car and I didn’t want it sucking up any water. Anyhow, it’s still in short-​ram configuration. Vash didn’t have a problem with that, however, he said it failed inspection because the intake elbow to the throttle body was cracked. He later goes on to say if I came back with the stock intake system put back on, he’d pass me. I told him that I already have a CARB exempt intake installed, why would I want to remove all that to put the stock intake back on? Anyhow, I ordered a new 3″ silicone elbow off of Ebay. Superb’s $ 40 smog check is on par with most shops in Sacramento or at least S. Sac.

I called Yee’s Auto Tech. They said they need to see the car first to give me an estimate of how much it would cost to have the wheel bearing assembly’s installed.
I then called Japanese Imports and after the guy punched my info into the computer, he said it would cost around $ 250 to install the wheel bearing assembly’s.

I had the wheel hub assemblies installed by SacSmog. See my review for them. ***** I’m taking all my business to them from now on.
