Went to subversions for the first time the other day and was stoked at how kind and laid back everyone was. Even though I was only buying some grip tape the manager hooked it up with some free stickers and joked around which definitely made me feel welcome (as if I was part of the crew). All in all a cool skate-​shop with good merchandise at a reasonable price. Plus who doesn’t like a skate shop a few blocks from a rad skatepark.

I was just in there today with my daughter, buying a new setup for my fiancé. I had very little knowledge of what to get, and was nervous I would feel stupid for not really knowing a whole lot about skateboards. From the minute I walked in, Ken was beyond helpful and patient with me. The selection was awesome, I trusted that Ken would put together something for me that would work for my fiancé. Since what I was getting was a birthday present, I wanted to make sure that I was getting everything I needed. I pretty much let Ken have the say in what to get, I trusted his opinion because he gave me options and explained the different products he had to me. My 5 year old was busy looking through a basket of vintage purses while we were busy, and not once did I get the feeling that she wasn’t welcome in the store. Ken did a perfect job getting me set up, and even threw in a little purse for free for my daughter. This is what small business and shopping locally is all about, I will definitely be back for some records. Thanks again for all of your help!!!

Rad folks selling the best skate brands, records and apparel. Reminds me of the cool shops in the 80’s. Check out the records for the best punk /​hardcore selection in town and the 1 dollar cd box for some forgotten gems. Ken can tell you about the best upcoming punk shows and local skate spots and parks. Sacramento is lucky to have such a good shop. Don’t forget to check out McClatchy skate park a few blocks away.

Went here for the first time yesterday. Great shop, very friendly and easy to talk to staff. Not «boutiquey» as many other shops have become, but rather a real skate shop. Good inventory, reasonable prices, and free stickers. What’s not to like? Go check it out.

This place is Awesome!!! They sell skateboards, decks, wheels, hats, shirts, and vintage clothing… oh and records! It’s down the street from the new skate park. It’s got a laid back feel, my boyfriend was shopping for skate stuff, while I looked at the cute… super reasonably priced girls clothing and earrings (comics themed)
