Ask for Vicky! She’s by far my favorite hairstylist!
She’s very accommodating when it comes to scheduling. She would try her best to squeeze me in. She knows I don’t like thinning out my hair because I have thick hair, so she would try her best to work with my hair and the result is always great!
Highly recommend her :) my hair cut is usually around $ 18-​$ 20.

Vicky is great when it comes to the way she colors your hair. The color stays and looks good. She trim and style it.

I am a frequent customer for hair cut, shop is new and clean, the owner Vicky and employee Hoang usually cut my hair, they both are professional, very good job, they are friendly, I definitely keep come back Salon Studio 8 for good hair cut and good service.

Great service and very talented staff! I came in when I messed up my hair with bleach and Vickey helped me get exactly the color I wanted.

My first review was very accurate at that time. My daughter and I have been going to this Studio 8 Salon for the last 10 months. But things have been changing slowly each month and today was the last straw ! We had an appointment but waited 65 minutes after arriving on time today. The salon has a high staff turnover and the workers are slow and seem confused when the owner Vicky is absent. The staff also complains and talk about their long work hours. Its a gossip place with low morale. We left because the salon was short staffed and it still was going to be a longer wait for us. People have things to do and their time is valuable; this business doesn’t appreciate that fact. I can take my business elsewhere and I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Bad job. unprofessional … rude people. Not worth spending your money. Found lumps and pieces of hair in my nails and was told that you can’t see it. Lady was going between me and another ladies nails back and forth. Im not sure how this place has good remarks but it is not a good place to trust with your nails. #horribleexperience

First of all, I found this salon on here because I was already in Elk Grove so why not. Second, my first time here and Vickey fit me in her busy schedule because I was a walk in. Third, she made my hair looook so much healthier by cutting and making it thinner. I didn’t want to cut it shorter but I needed to. She is my go-​to hair stylist from now on. Plus the price was reasonable! Thank you Vickey! People keep complimenting on my hair

Superduperfantastic! Its simple, my hair grows like unwanted weeds, I come out looking like brand new fresh sod from Home Depot. Model home status!

I asked for a trim and my hair came out looking uneven and chopped up. I thought it would look better if I waited 2 days but it didn’t lol so I went across the street and got it fixed. He told me he started 3 weeks ago, and I’m sure he’ll get better. I’m glad I told him not to trim that much.
The place looks clean and everyone’s nice.

I absolutely love my stylist LENA and her work, she’s very patient and professional excellent with customer service I mean it can’t get any better.

February 23^rd was my 10 year anniversary and my husband surprised me with gifts I’ve been saying I wanted for a while now. One of the gifts happened to be a gift card to get my hair done at Studio 8 Salon. I was super excited to see this because I’ve been getting my brows done by a lovely lady named Lena for a while now. I get really nervous when getting my hair done because I’ve had bad experiences before, so I took a few pictures to show Lena exactly what I wanted. I swear I asked her like 5 times can you do this? Each time she replied; yes with confidence. The time came to wash out my hair and let me tell you she washed it really good. And at the last minute I had asked her to straighten my hair, she was not bothered at all at my last minute decision. At this point its 7:30pm time to close the shop and she kept it so professional I think I was the one apologizing for having her stay late. Lena told me it’s not a problem at all; she wants to make sure all her clients are happy and satisfied. Then she finished my hair all I could say was WOW! I was so impressed; she was spot on with the look I asked for. I couldn’t thank her enough I mean my hair looked amazing. When I went to work the next day I had so many compliments on how beautify my hair looked I swear everyone loved the new look. Thank you so much Lena I REALLY LOVE my hair. And to all who took the time to read this review go check out Studio 8 and ask for Lena she does my eyebrows, upper lip and now my hair and I haven’t had a complaint at all.

Look for Linda! She is the most amazing hair stylist. Found her after my hair was messed up from another salon (yikes). Luckily she corrected my hair, evened out my cut and gave me a flattering a line. Cannot tell you how greatful I am. It’s been 3 weeks and my hair is looking healthy, can barely tell what happened to it. I’m due for a touch up next week and I’m looking to seeing you. THANK YOU LINDA!!! You are the best!!!

Had the best experience. Im always nervous getting my hair colored and even more when its a new place and person, but i was very impressed with linda she did exactly what i wanted and more !

The salon was clean and had great products. While getting my hair washed linda had her assistant help wash, it was awesome. Head/​scalp massage what a plus so relaxing .
Linda took her time but didn’t take hours like other places. Ive spent 3 hrs some places. Not here .
And i must say my hair feels and smells amazing .

I want to share my outstanding 3+ years ongoing experience with Lena for cutting my hair. Couple friends and family members come to Lena to get hair cut, and professional hair color/​style. I come to her every 2 – 3 weeks to get my hair cut and I cannot remember a time when I was not satisfied with their service.
Lena is the most honest and professional hair stylist I have ever met. She will listen to your request and make sure that you are satisfied with the service. My family and I have been going to her since she was working from another salon (2011).
She is excellent and a top hair stylist that you would want to take care of your hair cut/​style needs. I wish I could give her more that 5 star but this place overall (Vickey and Lena) knows how to treat their customers and a top professional in the business.
I highly recommend Lena and Studio 8 Salon!!!

PLEASE READ BELOW FOR A MORE IN DEPTH EXPLANATION OF MY EXPERIENCE AT STUDIO 8 SALON.
On Friday November 14, 2014 I came into Studio 8 Salon and requested to have my hair dyed to a light-​medium brown (please refer to photos). I spoke with the Vicky the salon co-​manager and she informed me that she was too busy to assist me and that one of her employees can provide the requested service. I showed both her and her employees the color I wanted and they said «No problem. We will take care of you, just have a seat and we will get you started.» I would like to disclose that Vicky was not the one who dyed my hair but her employees did. I believe her name was Nina. I am not completely sure because they did not introduce herself; but her station is the first chair to the right.
When my hair was completely dry, I wanted to cry. MY HAIR WAS BLACK. JET BLACK. THERE WAS NO BROWN WHAT SO EVER! I told Nina I was not happy with the color. That it looked black and I wanted it more brown. She basically yelled in my face «NO ITS BROWN! ITS BROWN!» You know, at this point it doesn’t matter what color it is. If a customer is not satisfied with the results, then fix it! She did not want to fix it and told me that it would be $ 80 for the service. I told her I was not paying for this and this is when Vicky came to the station. She informed me that if the color does not fade within a week come back. I trusted the manager so I said «yes I will come back in a week if the color does not fade.» I paid the $ 80 and left without tipping.

(edit to fit required characters) I called on Wednesday to schedule an appointment with Vickey to have a color correction for Friday. She was late to her own scheduled appointment and did not even fix my hair and did not offer me a full refund. It wasn’t until I said I would file a complaint with the police that she gave me HALF OF MY REFUND.
Overall, the manager offered to fix my hair within one week of unsatisfied service. I came back one week later and she denied me of service, and told me to come back in ANOTHER TWO WEEKS. Sorry, but I will never be return to this «business». You wasted too much of my time already. No one has time to keep going back and forth.

I love this place! I always come here to get a haircut. I’ve been all over Sacramento to find just the one that suits me the best.
I’m really picky when it comes to getting a haircut, if it doesnt go right 3 times i leave the place and try to find another one. This one haven’t disappointed me yet, I think i’ve tried to get a haircut by everyone in the store and they all did a good job.
Another big plus about this place is the environment, really clean and looks modern. Although «looks» isn’t all, but trust me when you walk into this store it makes you wanna stay. Imagine walking into McDonald vs Bj’s huge difference.
This is the best place to get a haircut especially if you live around Sacramento/​Elk Grove.

Had my hair cut by Grace. She was wonderful and so easy to talk to. I only came in with intentions to trim 2 – 3 inches but when she was cutting, I told her to do whatever to my hair, however she liked it. The end result was great. Majority of split ends gone and my hair is not short or long. When I was talking to her asking about hair stuff and what she put in my hair, she told me and showed me too. Vickey was very friendly and she told me about a mani/​pedi for only $ 25!!! Definitely going to take advantage. Eyebrow & upper lip wax for $ 12 both? Yes please.
For me, the haircut was a bit pricy, if it wasn’t for the $ 18 off, my total would have been $ 36, but understandable cause the service was great.
First time there and definitely coming back!

Today I came in for eyebrows like I usually would and I found out that they can do gel here. I love gel so much because it lasts so much longer than just regular manicures. The woman who did my nails was very kind. I noticed that she was very gentle while getting rid of the cuticles! Overall it turned out perfectly the way I wanted. She was patient with me and made sure everything was the way I wanted before she finished. I’m glad I decided to get a gel mani, now I don’t have to go to two different places for my needs. So convenient!

I went in initially for a pedicure. As they started my pedicure, they asked if I wanted a manicure for just a few bucks more. Okay. I was fine with that. Louthai (not sure of spelling) was very polite and made sure I was very comfortable. She even tried speaking a little to me in my language. Her pedicure technique was very nice and relaxing. My toes came out very nice!
For the manicure, I forgot to ask for her name, but she did a good job as well. Her technique was well done. I did both of my mani/​pedi at the same time. Probably shouldn’t have done that. It might be a little better to relax and do it one at a time. I got a French tip manicure, with my real nails. At first, my french tips looked nice. It wasn’t until I went under the UV lights that something wasn’t right. They checked my nails, and I’m guessing they weren’t drying correctly. So they layered another top coat over in the middle of my drying session. Needless to say, bubbles formed because of the thick coat. I paid a total of 40 $ with the extra 10 $ charge. So it would have came out to be $ 30 for a mani/​pedi but I added «flower design» to my big toes which were $ 5 and the French tip also added another $ 5.
All in all, I do really like this place and will return most likely. Their inside décor is very pleasant and spacious. Thanks for the pretty nails, ladies!

When I’m in Elk Grove, I prefer to get my hair cut by Vickey Vu. She’s such a great stylist, I’ve followed her here from her previous chairs at Hair Obsession (now Threading by Preet), and Neat Cuts, and possibly even earlier than that. Actually, she cuts both of my parent’s hair too, highly recommend. Cut, color, highlights, style, updos, she can do it all! She really does know how to work with Asian hair (especially my super thick, stick-​straight, stubborn cowlick hair) for any occasion. She never rushes, is very patient and listens to what you want the final look to be. I was excited to hear she was opening her own salon.
My first visit to her new place, I went in for a major trim — taking the drastic plunge and chopping off about 8−10″ of hair into a modified A-​line, layers, textured bangs, color and straightening for the start of summertime and before I had a bunch of vacation trips (see photo of before and after the cut). Talk about trust-​building! It turned out great. As a regular customer, it was easy to make an appointment via text or phone call directly.
Studio 8 Salon has a modern feel, but also open and welcoming layout. Very relaxing mood, clean and orderly — even down to the arrangement of the Aveda products for sale in the waiting area! Her attention to detail carries over throughout.
I haven’t tried the eyebrow, facial, mani/​pedi services yet but will be back soon. Do call or text Vickey at (916) 230‑2129. The salon is tucked away next to Western Dental behind McDonald’s.
