I’ve always wanted to come here. Finally made a stop here and it was worth it. I had the grilled chicken sandwich, which was really good. You can taste the grill on the chicken which to me is a plus. The cheese was melted perfectly and the fries were on point.

My family and I went to have lunch here for the first time. There was one like taking orders and it was a larger family in front of us so we was waiting for like 10 mins. We finally got our turn and I order a bacon cheeseburger and fry, a 2 piece chicken strip and fry for my baby and a. Catfish combo for my bf. It took close to 30 minutes to come out and we waited another 10 mins for my baby food. Our food was very hot wich is awesome but my burger had no season at all and the chicken strips didn’t have any as well plus they was super dry. My bf said the season was ok. His came with about 15 single fries menwhile me and my babys had tons… hmmm…they give one filet. I don’t know what it is but since we left we been having a lot of gas lol. oh and the lady was trying to over charge us… not once but twice… luckily my bf caught on because I’m nearly blind and didn’t see the prices well. I only said something because I felt like 23 $ was a lot for what we ordered. Maybe next time will be better.

I’m a believer that there are three types of burgers in the world; fast food burgers, «burger joint» burgers, and restaurant burgers. These are«burger joint» burgers, and they are damn good! Honestly they may be the best«burger joint» burgers I’ve found in Sac so far. Not to mention their killer fries. I know what I like and I order it pretty regularly so I can’t testify to the complete menu. They also have hand mixed real ice cream shakes. Definitely worth it if your in the mood for a no frills well made burger, fries and a coke.

First time was a slam dunk on the fish sandwich with catfish extra crispy, hush puppies and Cajun fries. The milkshake was ok, but I’m a water drinker mostly anyway…

I passed by place after my training and decided to give it a shot. The food was good! Burger was flavourful(beacon cheese), cook to how i liked, medium, Vegi was nice and cold and fresh. Bun was toasted too, a plus! Fries(Cajun) was not over cook with good flavor too. Everything came out fast and hot. Awesome. I would recommend. Owner, was quiet but very nice. I love small business!

The Chef burger & fries were amazing! Wasn’t too busy and the food didn’t take long at all. Will definitely be coming back :)

My wife and I have been visiting our granddaughter who is in the UC Davis medical center, just up the street. We would see this place as we drove by and decided to try their fish and chips. I had the combo with 1 piece of fish and 4 pieces of calamari. They have 3 types of fish to choose from Cod, Catfish, or Pollock, I had the Cod. The fish was much bigger than expected. At least as big as 2 pieces you might get from other fish places. It was crispy on the outside and very juicy and flaky on the inside. The calamari was cooked well. Very tender and not rubbery as calamari can get when overcooked. The fries were very crispy and had good flavor. I’m giving 3 stars because the place could have been a bit cleaner. I didn’t see any roaches as a previous reviewer said, but still could use a bit more attention. Overall, I’ve had better fish and chips, but this wasn’t bad for the price.

I’ve been here twice in 2 months and both times my cal burger has been tasty. I also like how crispy their fries are. We did order onion rings and those were ok. The quality of the burger is what keeps me coming back. The place is clean and the owners are friendly. Worth the drive for a good fast meal.

Ehhh this place was aight nothing special really, came here yesterday with some co workers we had an hour lunch and it took em 30 minutes to bring out my food i wanted to yell«DEBRA!!!» Its a(ray romano) thang lol i mean the food was pretty decent i aint gonna lie the service was just slow! Friendly but slow. There was dirty tables it wasnt that busy so it was kind of confusing to why it was so slow in the kitchen. I got the teriyaki chicken. It was a pretty big plate to be honest with u but i went at it like a savage :) killed the whole thing i dont know if i ate it all cuz i was starving like marvin or cuz i got hungrier that every one around me was eating except me! I would give this place a second chance but considering that i’ve lived in sacramento for over 20 years and seen this place hella times but yet yesterday was my first time ever going there i highly doubt that i will go out of my way to go back, but i aint a hater if u live near by or like to wait a long time to get your food to ur table then this it the place for u pal lol

I had a very good experience here. Not much to look at but for me it’s all about the food and they succeeded in impressing me.

Just passing through town… Unilocaled the nearest food place. This was it. Had turkey burger, strawberry milkshake, and onion rings… if ever in the area again… I would come back! Turkey burger was juicy and flavorful. Shake was legit. Onion rings were«ok.» Service was attentive and on point. I have a respect for the owner operator mentality. However, bottom line the burger was great.

Stop in just because I had a taste for fish. HAPPY I did. Fresh and full of flavor; first thing that tasted good to my mom all week after the cancer treatments. Thank you Stockton Grill

It is just way too convenient that the dispensary is right behind this diner. Nevertheless, Stockton Grill has never been busy the times I have visited, even during lunch hours. While sometimes there are loiters in the small parking lot, who I presume are patrons of the other business, they keep their distance. Since the inside is a little worn, I immediately lowered my expectations from what my fellow Unilocalers had hyped about. I definitely was wrong to do so. The Triple Burger was overwhelmingly meaty for me personally — don’t know why I got it, as I’m not the biggest bacon fan — but the pastrami was tender and flavorful(disclaimer: have never really tried pastrami, even though I’ve visited New York. I know, I know, shame on me). I wish there were also more vegetables and tomatoes, but perhaps I am just trying to make myself feel better after consuming 1,000 calories. The beef is juicy, not greasy, and perfectly cooked(aka not bloody). The Chef burger is hearty and sweet. If you’re not willing to take risks or just want an ordinary good burger, go with the Classic burger. But my personal favorite is the Cal burger. The textural and tasty differences between the soft, fresh avocado and the crispy bacon just make the burger that much better. The fries do not come with the burger, which is nice for us since #YODEO(you only die early once). If you decide not to opt out, you will learn they are perfectly crispy and salty, with the just right ratio from fried surface area to fiery, fluffy flesh(yay, alliteration). Do not even get me started on the sweet potato fries. They are — oh look, there I go anyway — the best I’ve ever tried, ever. The salty and sweet combination is heavenly. The employees are really nice and friendly too. Is it less racist to say that I usually expect worse service from affordable Asian restaurants if I’m Asian myself? No? Alright then, good thing that was just a hypothetical statement! I hope I don’t make it a habit to come here after every work shift. If anything does happen, the hospital is just right around the corner.

Update part 2: Craving fries, but since the fries were HORRIBLE on my last visit, I decided to get a burger also(you know, in case the fries were bad again! LOL). So I got the«Cal» burger that has avocado, bacon, and cheddar cheese. It was surprisingly, really good! All the veggies were fresh(especially the fan of avocado) and the(possibly frozen) patty was cooked a perfectly juicy, medium-well. I’m sold! I got the Cajun fries(fries w/season salt) which were ok, but definitely better than the last batch I had here. The burger/fries/drink combo came out to $ 10 and some change. A little pricey but if you want something other than Subway(across the street), I recommend the burgers over the fish.
