Love this place. Love the varieties; from dim sum, snacks, sandwiches, roasted pork…

Worst customer service! The cashier lady pull out a full bowl of fresh hot food and she wouldn’t sell them. Said they we’re taken(obviously lying) and put it under the cashier table so no customer can see the fresh food(that’s gross, right?). Never coming here again!

Good food but horrible customer service. Called 2 hrs ahead to place an order for pork turnover and sesame ball party tray. Got there not only my order ready not ready but for them to pack me the ones that were already laying on the counter waiting to be sold. I will never order again.

I always get their number 2 sandwich, but it’s usually a hit or miss. Sometimes their buns can be hard and inedible, but sometimes it week just be the best sandwich you ever eat. Their spring rolls, rice rolls, sui mai, etc are delicious. Same goes for their bbq pork!

The SF Hot Food section is located inside the SF Supermarket. This large deli can easily be found off to the right as you enter the market, where you can order hot Chinese or Vietnamese food to go along with deli sandwiches, barbecued meats, fish and seafood.
Joe K and I stopped here to try some Phở to go. When we placed our order with the woman at the counter, I wanted to get my Phở with shrimp without the shells, but I don’t think she understood what we were asking and I could see she was getting annoyed after asking too many questions. We decided to keep things simple and asked for white meat chicken. After 15 minutes had passed, our order was prepared. This time a very nice man handled the transaction and gave us lots of food for us to take home. The veggies were fresh, the broth flavorful and the chicken was cooked the way I like it — done! However, the chicken still had some skin on it and I had to have my boyfriend remove it or I just can’t eat that stuff(or even look at it).
I may return again to try the deli, since I usually shop in this grocery for their inexpensive veggies and my favorite tea.

I went here on the desperity cause taste of angkor next door was closed and the girlfwend wanted some phở. I can say the only thing im going to come back here for is the cha siu only because we ordered 2 bowls of noodles the wonton combo and the seafood combo and a thai tea the place charged me $ 19 for all of it and the tables were dirty, and we found 2 bugs in our soup we didnt want to find out if there was more. Service was also super slow for us 2 being the only ones there. Im only goin to come back for the drinks or chasiu

Best Banh Mi I’ve found in Sacramento. After I finish shopping at SF Market, I almost always get one to go

Love their coconut shake, fried dumplings with meat inside, and their chicken chow mein! I always order a small party tray of the chicken chow mein for pot lucks, only $ 20! I have also tried their beef phở noodle a couple of times, and it was actually pretty tasty. However, I don’t like eating there due to the atmosphere, because it is more of a food to go place. There basically is no customer service. They just take your order, you pay, and wait for your food.

If i can give no star at all I give one. Customer service is so bad i’ve never seen anything like it no manners at all. They talk in their language in front of you and start laughing. Found hair on my food when I complain They start talking in their language again and just look at me and turn their back. Will not go back in this place again. Never

Good sandwich and dim sum, terrible customer service. The rude lady must be the owner, because if she was an employee, she would be fired pretty quickly.

The dim sum selection is limited but what they do have is very good. Their chicken feet, sui mai, pork turnovers, sesame balls, variety of rice noodles(chong fun), are delicious and cheap. Great deal on the chow mein and fried rice($ 5.95 for HUGE portions). I don’t recommend dine in, unless you enjoy swatting flies with one hand while you eat with the other. Better to get take out.

When I can’t find something specific at Seafood City and don’t want to drive all the way to Stockton Blvd to the other SF(Shun Fat) Supermarket, I drive down Mack to Franklin and end up here. Upon entrance to the main supermarket, to the right is SF Hot Food. You can order banh mi(GETTHEGRILLED/BBQ PORK), phở(I haven’t tried this yet), desserts, dim sum items such as sesame balls(red bean filling), steamed pork bao, pork shumai on a shrinkwrapped tray, shrimp spring rolls with peanut sauce also on a tray, BBQ pork by the pound, roast duck, and more. Of course, you still have to walk by the counters/glass cases of jewelry, figurines, statuettes, lucky cats, fortune plants, cell accessories and other trinkets to get past the registers and into the grocery part of the market. Best part is you can do all your shopping first and then on your way out buy some hot food to take home. So fresh.

We stop by SF Hot Food on Mack Road at least once a week for their roast duck and various dim sum and baos whenever we need a quick bite to eat. Their bar-be-que pork over steamed rice is fairly decent, hubby likes their combo beef phở soup when we dine in. Do not try their Vietnamese sandwiches, mine has never turned out good and the bread is so hard it’s now a joke for me to hit it against the table at home and see how it still stands up to the wood haha. Only other complaint is the lady who works the sandwich station, she never seems to be in a good mood no matter what time we stop in. On our last visit we bought some sesame seed balls and a fresh batch just came out so we asked for the new ones. She dumped our bag empty and threw in the fresh ones with major attitude. We were shocked but I couldn’t help but laugh when we got outside because we weren’t expecting that kind of reaction.

*transferred from 05.25.2011SF Market update. i’m glad to see i’m not the only one who’s experienced this broad’s attitude!* it’s a shame the dim sum, baos, and spring rolls are so good, because the attitude behind the counter is straight up RUDENESS!!! my coworker was rudely told there’s a $ 5 minimum for ATM usage. ok fine they want to compensate for the machine charge blah blah blah, but save the tude. when i walk up a few moments later i ask if i grab my own dim sum pkgs out of the hot case and such, and apparently i pissed off the other lady trying to eat her lunch while customers are standing there. then i ask if the sesame balls are $ 0.25 each, and she shrieks at me «heehhh!!!» so i ask(still in a neutral tone) how much are these? she yells back«10 for $ 2.50!» it’s been awhile since algebra, but isn’t that $ 0.25 each? so i say nothing further and move my 2 pkgs towards the register, to which i get a response of her throwing her hand at my food and yelling again«$ 6.50!» either people are getting sh*ttier attitudes and phasing out manners and customer service or i stepped into another culture shock in the lovely and colorful south sac area. any way you call it i don’t need that extra dose of bs to my day. lesson learned and i’ll start making my own spring rolls at home…

Customer service needs to improve. The cashier there needs to speed up and stop snacking so she can serve her customers in a timely matter. And the attitude on her, calm down!

Me & my fam loves this place. We always get spring rolls, Shomai, pork chop plate & charbroiled chicken plate all for around $ 20. The food is good & fast. Only downfall is the flies in the summer. Another plus is we go grocery shopping with satisfied tummies.

I like coming here for roast duck, roast pork, bbq pork, rice rolls with beef and sandwiches. They’re cheap and tastes great. I’ve never eaten in before though. The people are fairly nice too.
