I just can’t figure out what kind of idiot authorizes the closure of the bike trail during Bike Month! Seriously you couldn’t wait a week to start the work? According to the closure signs, you were already a month and a half late closing it anyway. Smh.

Trail condition north of Interstate 80 Overpass: a good paved bike path, despite some obnoxious grafitti.
South of Interstate 80 Overpass: You are in Del Paso Heights, which is one of Sacramento’s not so delightful ‘hoods. Denizens of the area will be seen on benches along the way, drinking their 40 oz of «nutrition». I would not bicycle here unless armed and in a group.
In the American River Parkway area, you will find homeless people.
