Russell’s Quality Carpet

Scheduled an appointment for Thursday between 10 – 12 for carpet cleaning, moved furniture out of the house, vacuumed carpets and then at only at 12:06pm got a call that they’re having van issues and will call back as soon that gets looked at. Never called back! I called different company on Friday morning they came at 1 pm the same day.

I got the groupon, and they came and said that my carpet was too dirty and they needed $ 10 extra per room for deep cleaning. Paid that, yet, my carpet in one of the «deep cleaned» rooms turned out dirtier than when I left it. There were some red stains from who knows what, that weren’t there before and also I’m pretty sure they aren’t very careful when they clean, because I found a tack in the carpet that they didn’t pick up or move somewhere else, they just ran it over. A blue tack in white carpet is pretty noticeable, but they just decided to run it over. Some of the other areas did get cleaner, but most I did not notice a change. If the «deep cleaned» rooms actually looked clean, I’d probably add more stars, but the one room that got dirtier actually makes me angry.

Bought the Groupon, took about a week or 2 to schedule an appointment, moved all my furniture, and they never showed up. Nobody answered the several phone calls (used the number on the website) I made that day. No calls prior or after the scheduled appointment from Russell’s. Luckily, I got a refund from Groupon.

Had an appointment, confirmed appt, didn’t show up. When I called I was told that they would send out another tech and call me once it was confirmed. I never received a call and now they are not answering phones.

I called and made an appointment after I bought a Groupon. I called back the day of the appointment to confirm they were coming and the times. They never showed up. I called back to find out what was going on, left message. No response. Requesting refund through Groupon and will not buy again. I would give zero stars if that was an option. Don’t waste your time buying through Groupon and find another company.
And WOW, after reading the reviews. What a combative company. Very poor service to go after your customers the way that they have on Unilocal.I am surprised they are still in business.

I had in appointment today at 10 AM. I moved all my furniture for them to clean around my four-​bedroom house which I had a Groupon deal for $ 89. They never showed up. I’ll be asking Groupon for my money back Monday. They are nothing but ASS CLOWNS!!!

I’m still in shock over their customer service. I bought a Groupon, and made an appointment. I vacuumed my house, moved furniture and waited for 4 hours (I was only given a 2 hour window, but waited an extra 2). No one showed up, and I did not receive any phone calls. I called them and no one returned my call. I called 5 more times over the next week and a half! I left a message each time and no one ever called me back. I got in touch with Groupon and told them what happened so they refunded me my money. Then low and behold that same day they finally called back (I know it’s because Groupon had to get their money back from them). The woman acted completely clueless, and said she had no idea that I was stood up, or that I had called 6 times. She said she heard my message that I left an hour ago, ummm nope, the last message was left 24 hours earlier. Then she made a lame remark about there might be something wrong with the phones, please! It was seriously the worst customer service I have ever received from a business. Sorry I can’t give a review on the actual carpet cleaning, but I would never deal with this company again!

Absolutely terrible. I called on a Monday and was scheduled for Thursday afternoon between 12 – 2. Thursday afternoon I get a call saying they are having some truck trouble and they’ll be there a little late, closer to two. no problem, I was fine with that. Two comes and goes, no phone call, no one shows up. I finally have to call them and they say «oh I thought they were there by now»… They call me back and say they’ll have to come tomorrow… Ok fine, things happen, I’m fine with that. Well the appointment window for Friday comes and goes, and again, no one shows up. I spend all afternoon in contact with the OWNER who keeps blowing smoke and making promises. He promised he’d be there by 6:00, never called, never showed. My husband finally called him and after a bunch of excuses he promised he’d be there before 7:00 am the next morning. Surprise, he wasn’t! I finally got a phone call from a tech at 8:30 saying he was there, and saying how much extra he was going to charge me for pretreatment and stain treatment, etc!!! Are you kidding me?! After all that they couldn’t even throw in the extras! I DID not agree to any of it, so he just cleaned them and left, and they carpets look awful. I will NEVER do business with this company again, they are a joke.

Purchased a groupon for our carpet cleaning. They were 2.5 hours LATE. Was not apologetic at all. Completed the 2500 sq ft carpet area in 1 hr. He said the carpet will be dry by morning with fan and AC on, needless to say it was wet for 3 days. The carpet was ok, but it wasn’t too dirty to begin with.

Purchased a living social deal for carpet and tile cleaning. This was the first time I’ve ever used a carpet and tile cleaning company and after this experience I plan on purchasing my own carpet cleaner and doing it myself. The carpets came out OK, I watched him the whole time and he was not very thorough, especially on the stairs. The tile still had stains in the grout, he said it would eventually go away as the chemicals dried, but they never did. The technician also said he would do the stairs (which were not included in the deal) for an extra $ 60, but he wanted me to pay cash and when I told him that I did not have cash on me, he asked me to make the check out to him personally and not the company. Seemed a little strange. Definitely never using this company again.

This is the worst experience for a crept cleaning. A guy came really late and said his equipment was not good for an apartment, he had equipment for houses and couldn’t make the carpet cleaning. This happened late morning and after that time it was impossible to reach the company either with phone or e-​mail, none was responding my calls and e-​mails! And finally they arranged cleaning for next day which destroyed my moving out schedule. Next day a new guy came with exactly «same» equipment and asked for me extra money just because my apartment is in second floor. This company is a big liar and greedy. I DON“T recommend them to anyone!

I’ve used Russell’s Quality Carpet & Tile Cleaning once before and they did a good job so when they offered a $ 99 Groupon deal for carpet cleaning, I thought it would be great to get. When I called to set up an appointment, I informed I wanted stairs done as it’s not part of the deal. They charge $ 2 per stair. I also informed of having two showers cleaned as they offered another $ 39 Groupon deal for tile cleaning. When the technician came, he inspected the house and informed me it would be $ 50 for pre-​treating the carpet and $ 40 for the stairs. I was not expecting the pre-​treatment and having 17 stairs, it should have been $ 34 at $ 2 each. He said I have larger than normal stairs??? Then he informed me he would have to come back to do the tile cleaning. What??? I scheduled an appointment to have my carpet and tile cleaned; they should have allotted the time for such a job. I can’t complain about the carpet cleaning as it was done well. But when he informed me of the price at the end, it was $ 200. What, did he just make this price up??? $ 99 + $ 50 + $ 40 does not equal $ 200. I guess the tip was being included??? I went ahead and paid but didn’t get a receipt. He said he’ll come back to do the tile and give a receipt then. So I said ok. When he did come back to do the tiles in the showers, the same technician gave a very fair price on adding a third shower. He said he included the $ 39 Groupon deal in the pricing. The tile was done but wasn’t quite done as well as I expected. At the end, I paid him directly, not Russell’s, and still didn’t get a receipt. He said he would drop it off later. I had to call him a couple times to get a receipt for just the tile cleaning. I called Russell’s and notified them I didn’t get a receipt for carpet cleaning and was informed I would be sent one but I still haven’t received it after several weeks so I doubt I will. I am not sure I would recommend Russell’s Quality Carpet & Tile Cleaning as they contract others and who knows who you will get.

Purchased a Groupon and called numerous times over several weeks to redeem/​schedule appointment. Never got any calls back and the email link was continuously not working… needless to say Groupon processed my refund. I cannot recommend this guy, he does not apear to be interested in any new business. Why he offeres a Groupon is beyond me.

I have used Russell’s Quality Carpet three times over the last two years (twice for carpet cleaning and once for tile cleaning) and have been EXTREMELY satisfied with their price, quality and professionalism.
I’ve never had any trouble reaching them via telephone and they are very friendly and accommodating. They’ve always given me a really good deal (even without a Groupon). And they’ve always been available on the day/​time I’ve requested.
Most recently (today) they gave me a two-​hour window in which they would arrive and they arrived right on time. Russell even called to let me know when he was on the way. He did a GREAT job (again!) at a GREAT price.
I’ve used other carpet cleaning services in the past, but now that I’ve found Russell’s, I won’t go looking anywhere else!

I am VERY upset with this company… I scheduled an appointment over a month ago and when I called I talked to the receptionist about the groupon and she said that they would honor the price and I don’t have to purchase it. I also explained to her that I am moving from my house and the carpets HAVE to be cleaned on a specific day and she said she understands and that will be no problem. WELL… It’s the day of my appointment and I had yet to receive a conformation call for my appointment. So I called the company and left a message and no one called back. I called again and it went straight to voicemail so I tried 1 more time and I finally got an answer and when I did. I was NOT happy. The girl on the phone said they din NOT have an appointment scheduled for me today. remember I scheduled this over a MONTH ago. I spent approx 10 minutes on the phone with her providing her my information over and over while she looked for my appointment… NOTHING!.. So she said she would call me back and try to have a back up tech come out and do the job… We’ll see what happens… I really hope they follow through with their word and do a good job because I have to have my carpets clean before move out. Russell if you read this. I would recommend hiring new office staff or training yours to do their job better.
I will update my review IF and WHEN the company comes out… if they actually do.
It’s such a bummer to have a sour taste in my mouth before even having the company out to do their job.

I’m surprised by the amount of bad reviews here. We’ve used Russell’s three times, all with Groupons and have been very happy with their service. They show up on time, are friendly, do a thorough job and charge what we agree upon over the phone. We will continue to use them in the future!

After leaving 4 messages to reach this business I finally gave up. I have a large house that needs carpet/​tile cleaning, I guess I will go elsewhere.

I have purchased two Groupons to have Russell’s Quality Carpet come out to our home. One was for carpet cleaning, the other for tile.
The first Groupon, carpet, was redeemed back in January of 2013. I had purchased carpet cleaning for up to 2500 square feet (our house is a bit larger than this, but we have two rooms that are rarely used, so they were left off the cleaning. I could have paid to add them in, but I chose not to since they just don’t get much foot traffic). I also purchased the stair cleaning at $ 2 per stair, which is a very good investment for anyone with a two story house. Unless you have your own elevator, you use the stairs DAILY, and they do get dirty.
The cleaner who did the work arrived within the two hour window, was very polite, and we dealt with all the add-​ons prior to beginning the work so that no one was confused about prices. I did opt to pre-​treat the carpets as the carpets had not been professionally cleaned in about five years (the carpet is nine years old at this point, 2013). I equate pre-​treating carpet with pre-​treating dirty or spotted clothing. Do it, and there’s a much better chance that the stains will come off. Choose not to, and you may not get the desired results.
I’m going to be very honest, I did not expect miracles, but that has nothing to do with Russell, it has to do with the condition of our carpets. Our carpets were very stained in some places, due to two cats with bladder issues (who are, sadly, no longer with us). One spot in particular was a favorite of theirs and the carpet was very dark and dirty looking due to their competitive peeing. I had had the carpets cleaned previously by other companies and that area refused to come clean. One company had told me that it was virtually impossible to remove cat urine stains completely (though the smell did go away), and believing this to be true, merely hoped that the area would appear a bit cleaner. Another promised the stains would disappear but once the surrounding carpet dried, the stains were just as bad.
Imagine my surprise when the area went TWO SHADES LIGHTER! The staining was gone and six months later, still has not returned (wish I could say that about the other companies who were out here). The look of the carpets in all areas cleaned left me no longer wanting to rip out the carpet and replace it. I’m no longer embarrassed when I have friends over and they need to use the bathroom (the carpet is right in front of the downstairs guest bathroom).
The big difference between Russell’s and other companies, I discovered is in how the employees are trained. Owner Russell came out to clean my tile on Groupon #2 and while asking him about how to care for my tile post-​cleaning, I learned that his background is in restoration cleaning, which is different from the process used by many other companies. Russell trains his employees in the same manner. What does this mean to customers? You are getting a higher quality service!

Despite having initial issues over miscommunication regarding a Groupon and payment, the owner contacted me and was courteous with his efforts to rectify the situation. I appreciate these efforts because there is nothing more important that quality customer service. Thank you Russell for addressing our issues. The carpets looked amazing.

Okay you give us bad service so I ask my husband call and ask for a refund.
You ignore my husband and make false promises of a refund being sent in the mail. So we tell all our friends to not use your company and the hubby leaves a Unilocal review.
You then leave a comment that our year and half old carpets did not come clean because our dog «Craped» (sic) on them and as a result of that comment you get a Unilocal review directly from me.
Normally I am way too lazy to leave a review, but you just messed with my dog.
Poor Finnegan, A dog who has never had an accident in the house in his whole 5 years of life gets his pristine reputation soiled by some guy making excuses and using unprofessional and crude language to defend a bad review.
Look at the reviews peeps, they speak for themselves, as do the responses from the business. Finnegan on the other hand cannot speak for himself so I will.
