Rocky Mountain Window Tint

I was so excited to get my windows tinted on my brand new Audi. I’m up in Grass Valley so I sat around for 3 hours waiting to get a call saying they were done. Instead I’m told they cracked the window on the drivers side on my BRAND NEW CAR! So pisses! Now they have to keep it for a couple of days till new window shows and when I pick it up they didn’t even give me a discount! The owner is a rude SOB! They have no idea what customer service is! NO STARS FOR THIS CRAP COMPANY!

Found this place online and here on Unilocal by searching best window tinting in Sacramento. The people there were very professional and very nice in terms of customer service.
I like how they don’t use razor blades and everything is laser cut and precise for each window they are tinting. You can tell their staff is highly trained and they don’t leave a mess in your car like other shops do.
You will pay a little more but you are getting high quality and the best job

I have been a customer for years — brought my last 5 cars here over a span of many many years. I always liked the service and the beautiful outcome of the tint job once completed. My last car being an SUV had a few issues with the tint being cut a little too short for the window. It always bugged me but I never had the time to go back to have them redo it. So since have moved on from SUV and recently bought a new 4-​door sedan so I brought it in to have it tinted. I love David and Lindsay at the front desk super nice, caring, and personable.
After leaving the shop I noticed (like others have posted) a scratch on my bumper. I felt a little sick seeing it after just have had bought this car a week prior to bringing it in. I was disappointed nothing was said or at least maybe the guy doing the job didn’t realize he did it. I know for a fact it was not there when I brought it in. My suggestion is for the guys working on the cars to be more careful and do a little better clean up job when the cars are completed. :(
Overall I would totally recommend this place as I do think they do a really good job. Prices are reasonable.

Wow! Was a but weary at first with the negative reviews so I decided to check it out. The customer service, is all you can ask for. The young lady at the front was informative, helpful and addressed all of my concerns in regards to tinting my Toyota Tundra. I felt very comfortable with the amount of money I spent. It also helps when the owner talks to you about the value and money you spend rather than taking your money and «see you later» attitude. Great place and respectful people!

I had a great experience. I was scared at first as I was taking in my Brand New Lexus RCF. But they were great! No upsale tactics. All up front and up to me. The women that helped me (i forgot her name… so sorry) was extremely nice. She explained everything thoroughly and made sure I understood. Overall, the experience was fantastic. I will enjoy my Complete Front Xpel Clear Bra and window tint!

Beyond disappointed. This company was recommended to me from someone who had used them before. So, I went on their website and submitted for a quote, over a month+ later I’ve yet to hear anything! First impressions are everything in customer service and they didn’t make a good one. I’ll be getting my windows tinted somewhere else.

I just wasted an afternoon trying to get my windows tinted here. I had an appointment at 2:00, showed up at 1:30 to get checked in and came back at 3:30 and they hadn’t touched my truck. The whole job was to take 30 minutes. Why even take appointments? Waste of time.

Rocky Mountain Window Tinting and Maita MAZDA worked together to get our 2013 MAZDA3 doors fixed after they were damaged at Rocky Mountain.
I want to thank David Kurokawa and Darrell Lewis at Maita Mazda for working with us to getting it done.
After complaining to David about bubbles not clearing up after the recommended 5 days, they did go away after 10 days. I believe it was the cooler weather that kept the bubbles from clearing up sooner.
So all said, my wife and I are very satisfied customers with our doors getting repaired and the tinting job Rocky Mountain did.

This is the most dishonest company that I have ever dealt with. I brought my car in the other day to have the rear window of my hatch tinted. Several hours later, I received a call from the receptionist, who was very polite and helpful btw, informing me that my car was ready to be picked up. When I arrived, I was told that my car was being «touched up» which I found a bit odd because I figured after working on my car for the past 7 hours (no exaggeration), it would be completely finished. 15 minutes later, I saw the owner, Dave walk out from the shop with this look on his face like he was hiding something, but I didn’t think much of it. I ended up talking to him for a few minutes, but he didn’t seem as polite as he had been when I first met him earlier in the morning. Upon first glance, everything looked fine, so I paid and went home.
After I parked my car in the garage, I just happened to pop my hatch and found the main window defroster wire dangling. Now my rear window defroster won’t work and there are also a few «fingers» in the tint that won’t come out. The window defroster wire on my particular car has to be soldered on with a special tool that only the dealership carries and I doubt that Rocky Mountain would be nice enough to cover my bill for something that they obviously caused. Before you say anything, I must point out that I made sure that the wire was properly attached prior to bringing it in to their shop.
Any company that isn’t honest about their mistakes isn’t a company worth coming to.

Our family has been coming here with our vehicles for years and the tint is done professionally and in a timely manner. Tint comes with a warranty and we have never had a problem with air bubbles or fading of the tint so when my son bought a brand new GTI it was a no brainer on where we would be taking it to get tinted. For his birthday we went to our old friends at Rocky Mountain and they did an excellent job, as always.
Their quality service, products and prices cannot be beat! It’s easy to get an appointment, service is fast and they even offered my husband a ride to his appointment at kaiser while he waited. Turns out he didn’t need to take them up on it but thought that was nice if you had something to do nearby, while they have your car you could kill some time. They also have a Keurig machine there in the waiting room with some pretty darn good choices including chai latte that this non-​coffee drinker was pretty grateful for! You can’t beat their prices or quality. Conveniently located off the freeway come check these guys out. They even have sample vehicles with all the various %‘s of tint to take a look at if you are still deciding and not sure of what you want. We opted for the darkest 5% and some solar UV on the front driver and passenger windows and our sons car turned out fabulous… see the pics.

The owner is such a slimy salesman. You call him and describes his store like it is neighboring Arden fair mall. Come to find out its centrally located the the ghetto. The owner is full himself and tells you lies like he has special contracts with (insert luxury dealership name here) and exclusively does their tint. Furthermore all of his car stereo and auto accessories are second rate outdated garbage and he will push it on you like no tomorrow. Do your research and do not fall trap to his aggressive sales tactics. I will never again return here .my tint bubbled after about 8 months but I was so turned off by the owners personality I decided to not even bother and happily take my business elsewhere.

I recently had my windows tintinted and was very pleased with the work being done in a timely manner. The receptionist was very helpful and professional. I am very happy with the way the car looks and would refer all my friends and family.

I’ll review a few different things here —
Customer Service — Great customer service from Lindsey at the front desk and the rest of the guys in the shop.
Work — I had them vinyl a removable hardtop for my car. It didn’t come out the way I anticipated so I had to take it back for re-​work. Second time I got it back it still wasn’t up to my standard so I had them remove it. They removed it with no questions asked. This particular piece was very difficult to do and I have no hard feelings that it didn’t work out. They tried and that’s really all we can do.

Talk about a hidden gem in our community.
I’ve been coming here for ever since 1995 when I bought my first car. Not wanting to pay for the factory tinting, I asked around and several friends told me about Rocky Mountain. Over the years I’ve brought three other cars here and they were tinted quickly and professionally. One of the car had bubbling in the rear windows after 10 years so I returned to the shop for a warranty work. They ended up re-​tinting all of the back windows so I was able to sell the car with a higher price.
Keep up the great work and I will be bringing my future cars for your excellent workmanship and warranty.

I’ve taken a few vehicles for work to get tinted here, and I’ve been happy every single time. Getting an appointment isn’t tough, the work is done in a short period of time, and they give you a written guarantee and warranty for the life of the vehicle. David Kurokawa is a professional and he knows how to treat customers. They also do alarm installs, but I haven’t had them do any of that work yet, but if it’s like the other work they do, then I have full confidence in them.

This place has been solid for me. In the last 19 years I have had three vehicles tinted by RMWT. All cars were done professionally and with a short turn around. Customer service is great and I always feel informed to make a good choice about what to put on my vehicle.
Their work is guaranteed for life if the film bubbles on it’s own. You will have to pay out of pocket, as I did once, if you scratch the film yourself. (Thanks unnamed friend with a freshly tuned snowboard).
Luckily, I am still friends with my snowboard pal and I have learned to overlook his gaping human defect of minimally scratching my tint eight years ago. I credit RMWT with making my friendship last a lifetime.

! I recently purchased a new car and it happens to be my first car so I had been looking around for a local Sacramento area to get my windows tinted. I wanted something affordable but really good quality!
I found a couple good places that had affordable prices but from what I herd and saw from my own eyes, you don’t wanna settle for cheap price because your tint job will look cheap as well! I came across this place because many of my friends recommended it, so I checked it out for myself and called in.
The receptionist is a nice lady who kindly told me all their prices and times available and she quickly assisted me to set up a time and day to come in and get my windows done.
They are 150 $ for the back three windows, and 200 $ for all five (for a regular sedan that is). They have many options to chose from as well! I loved the .5% tint in the back, very dark and cannot see anything through the windows, for the front I have the clear with a uv tint or whatever it’s called LOL.
The day I was suppose to go in I was super late! I called them ahead of time and the same receptionist answered and she said it was okay. Only downfall is that when looking for this place I had a little trouble cause there sign is soooo small. But better late then never.
I dropped my car off and came back 4 hours later to a beautiful tint job! Very impressed and loved the service! Everyone here is so nice, and the best part is your windows come with a life time warranty! I deff recommend this place to everyone.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!
I brought my car here and whoever worked on it went digging around. I got my car back and my center console and glove box had been ruffled through, then to add insult to injury my window tint had bubbles.

Had my 2007 Acura TL tinted back in August 2011 by Rocky Mountain. Service and staff was professional and exemplary. The owner even brought me in to the shop to show me the work before it was completed. The staff was knowledgable about my car and even recommended moleskin for my windows — I did not feel pressured into this and already knew it was something my windows should have when tinted. I went for 15 rear and 35 front. The product and lifetime warranty have held since August 2011. Highly recommended!

Had my car tinted, re-​tinted, and re-​tinted at Rocky Mountain just last week.
Let me explain.
I specifically chose Rocky Mountain because they were the only Sacramento area dealers for the particular film I was looking for — Formula 1. I specifically wanted the Formula 1 Pinnacle, and so called for a quote. The receptionist was friendly and knowledgeable. I scheduled an appointment, and they were kind enough to drop me off at work while the car was being worked on.
Upon completion, I took the car and then noticed some scratches on the door window film. I called and they advised me to come in to have a look. They apologized and re-​did the tint. Upon receipt, I noticed that there were some light scratches still on the film! I felt guilty, but called again, and they asked me to come in again. Third time is a charm, and what they found was that they had a bad batch of film that was prone to scrathces, and once they got a good batch, my film now looks great.
So it was a little bit of a «rocky» road getting there, but I’m very satisfied with how things turned out. I was thinking about doing 4.5 stars, but in this day and age, anything less than 5 is negative so I’m giving them a 5 for their customer service, final product delivery, and friendly staff.
