Established in 1990.

Precision Automotive Service is an independent repair shop conveniently located ½ mile west of Hwy. 99 across from the 47th Ave light rail station. Throughout the years, Precision Automtive has a blemish-​free B.A.R license, is AAA Approved, ASCCA members and A.S.E certified. Our technicians are continually trained to stay up to date on new, alternative, hybrid, clean diesel and CNG vehicle technology. The quality of our work at an affordable cost is what has kept our loyal customers coming back for over 24 years.

Business Owner

In 1978, Rick obtained his Automotive Technology Degree. He has aquired all of the A.S.E Certificates constituting him a Master Automobile Technician for over 25 years. His other A.S.E Certificates include: L1 & L2 — Advanced Level Specialist and Medium/​Heavy Truck Technician and Diesel Technician. Not only is he a savvy mechanic, he also flourishes in the business world — owning the successful Precision Automotive Repair for over 24 years. It’s not easy owning a top Sacramento Repair Shop, but he’s done it with the help of hundreds customer’s from Northern and even Southern California. He was his son’s Boyscout Scout Master for over 8 years, and is still involved with many in the community, including the South Sacramento Rotary. He enjoys fishing and camping with his wife of 27 years, children and grandchildren.

Took my car there to get an estimate on a brake job, rear brakes. Estimate said rotors needed replaced, along with new calipers. Total rear brake job, a grand! Really? I don’t think so. Took car to another shop for second opinion, doesn’t need new rotors or calipers, rotors can be turned, calipers are fine. Brake pads yes. The cost, less than half than what the original shop quoted me!

Review rate kept the same. I was charge for a diagnostic test, man hours put into the car, and a few parts (we could of did ourselves). None of these help fix my car. In fact the problem worsen. The first time my boyfriend (since you obviously know who wrote the review. you call my phone the next day.) bought the car to you guy. You told him over the phone you had to keep his car because you guys were trying to figure out the issue. The next phone called was telling us the price to fix these what you consider major. The third call the lady told us what was done to the car (which to me sound like new wirings and crankshaft sensor) When my boyfriend came, he was inform that the cat converter was going out also there was multiple leaks along with other minor issue. No quote was given. A list was given to us stating what was done and tested. Few days after taking it to you guys my engine light came back on. We fix it then a week after it started, my car didnt want to start we let it go by another week atleast before we had enough. My boyfriend takes it back to you guy you call him and say you guy have to run another diagnostic test. How is that even possible when we paid you to check whats wrong with our car the first time? How is my heater working fine, when i don’t have a heater core attach to my car (how well did you guys test) Yes my engine light doesnt blink on and off, but now my car barely wants to start. And if its something as simple as a starter or my fuel pump why wasnt this fix. Why were we giving a qoute of the stuff that causing my car to not start or can damage my engine over time, Why when took it back to you the second time. You guys couldn’t see anything wrong with it. It start mysteriously working fine when it left your shop then just recent doing the same crap we took it back to you guys the second time around. We gave you guy 500 dollars. Anyone would be irate when throw hard earn money down the drain. I have mechanics telling me similar problems with my car you guy never bother to mention.

I was passing thru Sacramento when my 2007 Toyota Corolla check engine light went on. I googled the nearest mechanic and found this gem of a place! The service manager, Lindsay welcomed me as soon as I walked in. I was upset and fearing the worst about my car. She offered me a cold drink, got me laughing and calmed me down. She was obviously busy with work but put it to the side to personally help me. She brought this machine-​thing to my car to diagnose. Soon she smiled and said it was just a loose gas cap:-) She insisted on cleaning my windows because she wanted me to have ‘good visibility’ on my road trip. I mean, who does that? Lindsay @ Precision does! I live an hour and half away but will only take my car to them!

Everyone who works here is very friendly & knows their stuff (as evidenced by their flawless work). Very reasonably priced, informative, complimentary wash (exterior), and rides to and from if you’d like to return later for your vehicle. Very high recommendation. I rarely use Unilocal,unless a company REALLY deserves it. Cheers

Precision automotive, specifically Lindsey, was the one and only bright light in the 3 month long nightmare we just went through with a truck we recently bought. Lindsey went above and beyond to try to help us out, even arguing with the third parties involved, on our behalf. After dealing with so many different terrible people it was beyond comforting to finally find someone who we felt we could trust, and who communicated extremely well.
After 3 failed used engines we finally landed at precision and they were able to get us back on the road as painlessly as possible.
Their rate may be a little higher than some other places but you truly do get what you pay for here. We will definitely be returning customers!

I have an 2004 Lincoln LS that had hard to diagnose electrical and alarm sytem problems. Rick had the car picked up, evaluated and a professional estimate prepared WITH A QUICKNESS that impressed me. I was kept up to speed on the cars progress during the repair, and I found the end cost to be quite reasonable. I requested a complete evaluation of the car, and they were very thorough. MOST IMPORTANTLY I WAS IMPRESSED BY THEIR HONESTY and tact under pressure.

When I got to this joint I was greeted by Rick and Lindsay and taken care of from start with friendly, honest, wholesome care and concern. The tech guy nailed down the problem with a quickness and Lindsay was a pleasure to get information from. I am totally grateful and wish that this shop was in my hometown, I almost would rather make the trip to Sac then use a local from my own area!
I don’t understand the overpricing comments. Definently not over the top prices, just legit care prices.

Not recommended. My female friend had a drivers side window stop working. After learning the total cost of repair she asked me to accompany her to pick up the vehicle. She knows little about cars and felt like she needed help communicating with the mechanics. I was shocked to see a total asking $ 500 to replace a window regulator. When confronted about the high price, the staff at precision automotive service asked what my relationship is to the customer. I thought this was a strange question because it’s nobodies business and should make no difference. I was simply concerned with my friend being over charged. I was then asked what I am basing my claim on. I had my window replaced on a 2007 Lexus rx400h at the Lexus dealership and didn’t pay as much. The staff member explained that all cars repairs are different but I can’t accept that a 2000 Honda window regulator costs more to repair than a 2007 Lexus at the dealership.
The staff assured me that the parts and labor are warrantied and things like that. I’m sure the work was done well and this is prob a very decent shop it you don’t mind spending way more than you have to.
We let the shop know that we would share our review with the Unilocal community and they agreed that people deserve to read an honest review.
So in conclusion, the shop would not budge on price. The customer would not have agreed to make the repairs had she known she was being over charged. $ 277 was charged for a window regulator (same eom honda part was found online for $ 79) and the total for labor was $ 209. The receipt did not show the hourly rate or the time spent on the repair. Just a total for labor. They also gave us 3 pages of recommendations from their «courtesy inspection». I believe most of the «labor time» for the repair of the window was spent looking for more things to fix.
If you’re on a budget I would not recommend this shop. If you’re looking for a positive experience and good customer service I would absolutely not recommend this shop. It doesn’t feel good to be ripped off. It really doesn’t feel good to not be heard as a customer. There’s no arguing that the price they charged was way unreasonable and any good business would understand there’s more profit in ensuring customer satisfaction than there is in ripping people off and having them voice their experience on the internet.

These guys are way OVER PRICED! Took our cars here for basic maintenance work a few times and each time we always ended up paying way more than they initially quoted us.
Recently we came in and they told us we needed a repair that was gonna cost us over $ 3,700!!! Took it somewhere else for a 2nd opinion and turns out we don’t even need that pricy repair! Will not be taking our cars here anymore. I would not recommend these guys to ANYONE!

Way over priced! I went here to have my car looked at they charged me $ 160 for an inspection. They then listed off like $ 3,000 worth of fixes. Somehow when they were messing with my car they broke the drivers side keyless lock, I didn’t realize his until I got home. My cars not super old, but needed a tune up. I left and took my car to the dealership a lot of the things they pointed out were wrong and some of them were known recalls that I got fixed for free. I got all new tires, full tune up, oil change, belts changed, my recalls fixed and the locks fixed for around $ 600. I recommend going to your dealership first before having to deal with people that know nothing about your particular car and have no clue about any recalls your car might have, they just want the most money they can have I mean really, the diagnostic fee was insane, it’s just a car.

I just moved here and drove cross country to relocate. My car needed a repair so I googled auto repair from my new home address and this site was listed. I am so lucky and happy that I found this place!!! Superior and excellent quality services. They are trust worthy and honest and I I will definitely become a regular customer.
You answer to a person, with a name, when you call the shop rather than the annoying, automated voices associated with dealership service centers I’ve also called in this area.
It was a wonderful experience and I will highly recommend this shop to anyone in need of car services.

I finally found the auto shop I’ve been searching for in south sacrament. «Precision Automotive», the name speaks for itself. They’re. Precised in workmanship, pricing, diagnose, nice people. I went in for an oil change. The service manager was exceptionally rude and unprofessional. Instead of recommendations they proceeded to lecture me about my vehicle. When I brought this up to the manager he said he was on her side because she was his employee. No customer should be treated like a child. They should show some respect and appreciate that you have chosen to give them your business.
