This used to be my favorite place until today. I know you guys said your busy and had X number of customer in the back and we’re backed up. But that is no reason to come to our table and start throwing the plates of food on our table, after I asked politely if we can have our side dishes out since the entrée was going to take longer and when I told the waitress why she was being rude she acted like she didn’t do anything wrong asked for a manager and said there was no manager asked for someone in charged and said nothing and walk away. I walked out of this place, no reason to treat your customer rude because you can’t handle the stress of business. I used to love this place but not anymore have been going here for the last 6 years with my family and freinds. But they just lost a faithful customer.

Authentic food and sweet ladies :) 5 Stars. Location: Ambiance: There are little cubicals for each table in the back that gives you semi privacy from the table behind and in front of you. It’s a cleaner looking Korean restaurant :) Food: #1 Chicken Stew consists of: rice, dates, garlic, and ginger stuffed into a hen and boiled for a long period of time. I have tried this chicken stew at YD House and they just can NOT compare!(This stew is known for its ability to help keep cool in the hot summer.) This is my #1 comfort food after a long day. #2 Budae-Jjigae(Army Base Stew) consists of: ramen, kimchi soup, cheese, mini sausage, spam and several other ingredients in there. This is served on a wok on a portable gas stove.(This stew was created back when Koreans were given hot dogs/cheese/spam in the army and has been popular since then). #3 Pat Bing Soo consists of: shaved ice, sweetened condense milk, mochi, red beans, and etc. This is my favorite on a hot day light and sweet! Will I return? — Yeap, just went there for the nth time today!

Recently started going back to Pine Tree since we are always passing it and never had time to stop. I think their service is wonderful and the banchans will fill you up before you start your meal. We ordered Mandoo, pork tonkatsu, soft tofu soup and bulgogi all were very tasty. love the kimchi and the Korean black sweet beans call KONGJABAN yummy sides. They will ask you if you need a bowl of rice or ask for lettuce to wrap you bulgogi or pork dish LOVEIT!

Great customer services, friendly environment. They’re always checking up to see how we’re doing, I thought that was sweet. The food are delicious. I’d prefer pine tree house over YD house, no offense. :)

I haven’t been here in a couple of years but it is still my favorite place to get soondubu in the Sacramento area. The beef combo soondubu was perfection — the soup is sweet because of the seafood, the beef is sweet, and the spicy level is perfect. They also have a good variety of options here from kbbq to soups. We also ordered the manduguk(dumpling soup) — the homemade dumplings were delicious! It is served in a clear broth that is has the right amount of flavor. Great choice if you’re looking for something that is not spicy. The banchan(side dishes) served here is better than most and they are not stingy with it. They served at least 10 – 12 different dishes! Where else are you going to find something like that? The steam egg is probably my favorite! Big big reason to why I always come back!

Ive been to all the Korean restaurants on this road. And this one has the best Ban Chan. Try the Jeon-gol or any of the other dishes. But it’s the ban chan that sets this place apart.

I went here with some friends and we ordered many dishes. I would say it was a great experience and I definitely come back, especially for the dish of Bulgogi and spicy squid. It is a legendary! Food Bulgogi and spicy squid($ 33) was served with sweet spicy marinated squid and pork bulgogi with bean sprout. It was big enough for two or three people just this one item. Anyways, it was still cooking on your table while you are eating, when you almost done the dish, they then make use the pot to make kimchee Fried Rice with leftover juices. This is the BEST Korean food dish I have ever had. Like I said, it is a legendary! Seafood tofu soup was served with shrimp, clam, mussel and calamari. It tasted very good and the tofu was very soft and tasty. I would like to try it again. Seafood pancake, hmm… how should I put this? First of all, my bf and I were not big fans of Korean Pancake, but it was standard good. Bulgogi was served with tender prime beef marinate with special sauce. For this item, I personal don’t really like it. I would say I can do a better job than them for this item. I like their service. The staff was very nice, very good service and sweet.

BANCHANFORDAAYYYS! Yes, that’s probably my favorite part about my meal here last night. The many many variety of banchans!(side dishes) Heck, I can probably come here just for the banchans itself and not order anything off the menu, ha! Gotta love that delicious dried squid that I had to ask seconds of. This place definitely offers the most(and the best) banchans. Anywho, of course my party of 12 ordered hella food. Sooo much food that I don’t even think I had the chance to try every dish. Though their famous seafood boiling pot was probably my fave,(I think that’s the name) but it sits on a mini gas stove and cooks in front of you. From what I remember there was ample amount of octopus mixed in with vegetables in a very sweet and spicy sauce that was so, SOGOOD! Other dishes I also enjoyed was the spicy fish mixed in with bean sprouts. Can’t remember the name either(since I didn’t do any of the ordering), but it was chunks of fish meat chopped up embedded in yet another sweet but spicy sauce. The food was fantastic and left me feeling uncomfortably full when I left.(You know, that feeling when you’re already full but you still continue to stuff yourself!) The service here was great! No complaints. The waitresses took good care of our party and came around often to check up on us. Food came out fast and they even offered three sets of banchans for our party. Will definitely be back when I’m craving Korean food!

Came here a bit before closing, ordered the chicken teriyaki. Expected a standard kbbq type chicken dish. Ended up getting a fatty piece of chicken with mediocre sauce. Service was terrible as well, one of the waiters ended up yelling at the staff behind the counter. Also brahs I don’t wanna be listening to country music while in eating Korean food. Worst part was they charged me $ 17.35 for a terrible plate of food and crappy service. There are tons of better asian restaurants than this one, alot of them are damn near half the price with better service.

BANCHANSFORDAYS! I don’t think I have ever had this many side dishes before. The kimchi was delicioussss! I love how they give the steamed egg as a banchan, which was cooked to silky perfection. I ordered galbi tang, which was good but not as concentrated as other places. Service was friendly as well. There are dividers between tables, so you will get some privacy while eating. The table across from us had some really good looking food on some fryer. I will definitely come back here to try whatever that is! XD

When you walk in, it’s a pretty quaint place with divider to give you some privacy. The waitress was friendly and nice as she greeted me. I ordered the bibimbap-korean-mixed-rice-with-meat-and-assorted-vegetables and it came out with some other side orders and soup! The presentation is awesome. Overall the price is good but the food is good but not great. It definitely worth me coming back!

The service was the only good thing about this restaurant. First of all, I kind of thought the whole place smelled like fish, but tried to tell myself that they must have just cooked a bunch of fish at that particular moment. Well, I don’t know, but the whole place smelled like fish the whole time we were there. The décor is kind of cheap looking and uncomfortable. No booths. Dirty floors. Peeling wallpaper everywhere. TVs blaring in multiple rooms on multiple channels, at a level that is audible from anywhere in the restaurant, along with the sound of an old lady(the owner?) who is continuously coughing something productive into a bar towel. But the thing is, the ambiance was the same at the best Korean restaurant I’ve ever been to in my life, so I had to let it all go, and hope Unilocal was right about this place. It wasn’t. I got the beef bulgogi, which is normally one of my top 5 favorite foods in the world. Here, it was barely edible. It was served on a hot griddle in what basically looked like grease soup. The meat was not very flavorful and was not very tender, was a little overcooked, and was wrapped in bland soba noodles, which I happen to hate. So I had to pick around the noodles, let the oil drip out, mix it with my rice, and suck it up. He probably would have gotten the beef bulgogi too, but wanted to get something different, so got the pork instead. The pork was horrible. Disgusting. I’m sorry, but it tasted dirty. Either the oil was old, or the meat was bad. I wanted to try to eat some of it so that he could have more of my beef, because I felt bad, but I just couldn’t do it, and then it turned out that I couldn’t eat my beef, anyways, or any of the thousand side dishes that were served for free… So they did have more side dishes than anywhere I’ve ever been to, but they all had the same(vinegar) flavor, as if they had all been sitting in the fridge together for a very long time. The dishes were a little pricey at around $ 18 each. I would gladly pay that for good bulgogi like I’ve had at most restaurants, but this was just low quality greasy food, and so not worth $ 50(including tip, since it’s not the server’s fault that the food just doesn’t taste good). Overall, it was super greasy, not fresh, and pretty bland.

SURPRISEFOODADVENTURE #12 (How it works: One person picks a secret location to go for a food adventure and only tells the other people the address of the place. Everyone meets at the address and food adventures happen!) I am kind of in love with this place. Pine Tree House is definitely up there on my list of fav Korean restaurants in Sactown. A friend of mine came to visit recently, and he was craving Korean food, so I suggested we go to Pine Tree House since I had been here previously and enjoyed the experience. The biggest thing that is a standout about Pine Tree House is the banchan/side dishes. You know how you go to a Korean place and they have some decent banchan, but they don’t have that one particular side dish that you like? I would wager that it’s highly unlikely that you’ll run into that problem here. They have ALL the banchan! Japchae(sweet potato noodles) is one of my favorite banchans, but they so rarely have it as banchan at certain Korean restaurants, but lo and behold, Pine Tree House has japchae. I’m sure from the pictures, you can tell just how many different side dishes they offer, and best of all, they are unlimited!(Though you will probably have to flag down a waitress to ask for refills.) The food also hits all the right spots. I feel like you can’t go wrong with any of the BBQ items or the kimchi pancake. The tofu soups are also scrumptious. My friend and I discovered that they have stone pot noodle soup dishes made with udon, so we ordered the seafood version, and this was divine! It was a chilly day, so they hot soup did a good job of warming us up and the flavor was really nice. They were also fairly generous with the amount of seafood they gave us, which I appreciated, since a lot of places tend to skimp. The udon was tender, the clams were plentiful, and my tummy was happy. tl;dr: Yay! I’m a fan. Definitely my go-to Korean place in Sacramento. The key for me is the amazing selection of banchan, though be warned, you may have to flag down the waitresses to get their attention for refills!

Pros: Always enjoy coming here to try different dishes. Food is flavorful and the staff is nice and welcoming. I definitely recommend the pork and squid stir fry, pork wrap(kul bossam), and pork neck stew(gamjatang). The Side dishes are also great most of the time. It’s pricey but I am always full and satisfied every time I leave so I am quite fine with it. Cons: As I mentioned, I like the side dishes but I think that I can do with one side dish of pickled radish rather than three different kind which taste really similar to one another. It would also be nice if the staff comes by every so often to refill water or side dishes. I normally have to go to the front or wave them down for more water, napkins, etc. Overall, if you’re looking for authentic Korean dishes and flavor, I’d say this is the place to go. It’s a good thing that I don’t live too close by or I would be broke by now

I’ve been here twice and I’m shocked that I forgot to write a review the first time! Both of my experiences here at Pine Tree House were positive, but at the same time I have also experienced better. During both visits, we were seated in the back room past the saloon doors. It’s a nice private room but can get pretty loud if it’s full. And the other downside: the servers rarely come to check on you. That makes it hard to ask for water refills, or more banchan without feeling like you have to get up and go to the front of the restaurant to flag somebody down. As for the food? Delicious, but I haven’t had a bad experience with Korean food. it’s always good! But there’s always a difference between good and better, and this was closer to the«good» side. The seafood pancake was a little more oily than I’d like, and the dipping sauce a bit lacking. The spicy chicken bulgogi and tabletop grill bulgogi are both really good though, definitely a must order! Their side dishes change each time but I love the spicy lettuce, potato, tempura zucchini, and spicy radish… okay I just love all side dishes(except the mushrooms, sorry). Pine Tree wouldn’t be my first choice for Korean food but I wouldn’t be against coming back either!

I wasn’t sure if I would like this place. I wanted Oz’s Korean BBQ but they have gotten ridiculously expensive. I am so happy the love of my life suggested we try this place. No wait but a full restaurant. $ 35 and we had so much food we could never have finished. Top rate food. Attentive service even though they were packed. If it had been Oz’s, $ 120 and no taking home left overs. Actually, on a Saturday night, if it had been Oz’s, we would still be waiting for a table. No unfriendly rules here. They happily brought the box and filled it to overflowing. Great food. Great value. They treat customers right. Please eat here and keep this place is business.

For authentic Korean food, I always like to come here, because it is always delicious. The spicy pork bulgogi is my go to but galbi beef and regular beef bulgogi are also delicious. The place is very clean, and the owners are very sweet. The assortment of banchan is also pretty fantastic. Overall, if you are looking for good Korean food, check out the Pine Tree.

Compared to many other Korean restaurants in the area, Pine Tree House is just average. I got the spicy pork bulgogi, and was disappointed in the portion for the price of $ 15.99. The food was only warm when it arrived at our table. Side dishes were good, and included jabjae, which many places don’t offer as a ban chan. The kimchi had the right amount of sourness to it, which I like. However, this is my third time here and it just gets a little more disappointing each time. I feel like the servers here give service according to age, and maybe race as well. They don’t give as great service and aren’t as attentive and friendly towards younger age groups. We saw our server twice: once when she took our order and once when she dropped off the food, both times without a smile or any sort of acknowledgment even when we said thank you. It just wasn’t a comfortable environment to enjoy our dinner in. We felt uncomfortable and UNABLE to ask for more side dishes since the servers were no where in sight. HOWEVER, an older Korean gentleman who sat across the restaurant was greeted well, got checked up on many times, and had 2 extra side dishes than we did(yes, pathetic & sad, but I counted). This place has great potential, I just wish they can be a little more professional with their service and perhaps make their price to food proportion ratio a little better. Also, I’ve seen great servers here before, but 9⁄10 times, we end up with a server that makes the restaurant look bad. The server today, her name was Cindy.
