They do not cater to textured hair. I went in for a consultation and not 1 but 2 stylist told me my desired look would not be achieved by the Brazilian, 2 days later, I got the same treatment at a different salon and my results were phenomenal.
I’m leaving 2 stars because no matter how rude it may seem, I’d prefer someone be honest about their ability to do my hair instead of attempting to talk me out of it and then attempting to charge me double the price to ensure results you told me I couldn’t achieve in the first place.

Theo fixed my bad haircut from a different salon. I didn’t think I’d like my hair this short but, I actually like it. I think I’m sticking with him! He’s great! He takes his time and listens. Definitely would recommend him.

Just got home from this salon. Bought a groupon for 100 dollars. Scheduled appointment for 9 am took time off work and got to salon at :8/​45. Was told the the girl the scheduled me with could not make it in due to family emergency. They offered to book with someone else but they would have to call me as only one or two stylists do groupon, wow… Is Groupon a dirty word! Got appointment at Luxe will update review after that appointment.

I purchased a groupon for an $ 84 Brazilian Blowout. This was my first visit to this salon but not my first time having this service. I called on Thursday and was able to get an appointment for the next day at 1:30 with Lauren Patterson.
The salon is very trendy and sells great high end products including Kerastase (my favorite) and Oribe which I’ve heard great things about.
As soon as I approached the front desk I was warmly greeted by the receptionist. I took a seat and waited for my stylist Lauren. She was super friendly and helpful. The salon was super busy. One thing I always look for with a stylist is if I like their hair. I can honestly say EVERY stylist in the salon had great hair and many different styles. Also all the clients they were working on looked as if they were all going to have a great turn out on their hair.
Lauren did a great job on my Brazilian Blowout and was helpful on advising me on what products to use. She also quoted me a great price on a balyage that I want to get done. I preset an appointment with her and can’t wait to go back!

I would highly recommend this salon to anyone. I had my first Brazilian blowout and I love it! Theo did a great job he was so friendly and gave me lots of tips to keep my hair well maintained. He also cut my hair and it looks great. I’ve never liked it short but it looks amazing. He is awsome! I will deffinetly go back.

By far the worst customer service I’ve experienced with a hair salon. Manager has poor customer service skills, and doesn’t seem to sincerely care of her customers satisfaction. Stylist are poorly skilled, don’t listen to the customer’s needs, and overall terrible business.

From a simple cut and color to wedding hair, Mosaic salon and Allie are the BEST! I went to see Allie on a recommendation from a friend and I’m so glad that I did. She explains things so well, takes her time and always leaves my hair feeling healthier. For the most important day of my life (Wedding Day) she took her time and made my hair perfect! My whole wedding party went to Mosaic salon on my wedding day and they did beautiful styles for all of us. I always look forward to an appointment at Mosaic salon because I KNOW my hair will look great! I would highly recommend Mosaic salon and Allie!

My haircut with Theo was a great experience. He takes the time to talk to you about how you want your hair so you feel comfortable. You can tell he pays a lot attention to details and takes the time to style your hair. Overall, great experience, highly recommend!

Livier Brambila has been doing my hair for years now and she truly is the best! love her! not only did she fix my dry/​damage hair but she got the color that NO other hair styles could do! truly recommend her…

Excellent!!! Theo transformed my lifeless, tired hair into sculpted perfection. I arrived not having any clue what I wanted… just a few photos of celebs. I instantly felt comfortable consulting with him. He listened to my ideas and took all my ideas and photos to create a great hair style. Theo recommended long layers to add movement. The outcome: best haircut I have ever had in a long time. Theo is tremendously skilled, acutely observant, and as you’re sitting in that chair, you feel like you’re chatting with your best friend. I adore my new look!
Overall the salon is very nice, and the staff is friendly. Highly recommended.

Thanks Nick for the past 2 – 3 years of haircuts. I recommend Nick for any hair style that you’re looking for. I would keep going here, but ended up moving to SoCal. Maybe if I’m ever around Sac and need a haircut, I’ll be sure to set up an appointment.

I purchased a Groupon and was nervous to try a new place, but I had a great experience.
Theo was very attentive and easy to talk to, which is a plus when getting your hair done. He cut and styled my hair beautifully.
Will definitely be going back to him to color my hair.

Aubrey has been cutting my hair off and on for 6 years. I’d use her regularly if I lived in Sacramento. I come from the Bay Area to get my hair cut. I am always pleased with my cut and color.

I’ve been in search of a new salon because my hair stylist of 5 years moved to Los Angeles. Soooo I decided to check out Groupon, I saw the price and I was SOLD!
I don’t know about other Grouponers, I had a great experience. I purchased my groupon on a Wednesday and was able to make an appointment on a Saturday :)
I was greeted with a smile and an espresso. The staff was super friendly, the receptionist even informed me that my hair stylist was running 10 min behind. But hey… You gotta come with patience, I was in no rush.
I was a tad bit nervous because I am so use to my old hair stylist. However, I had nothing to worry about. I am a low maintenance person and Allie was able to read my mind. She did not chop off my hair and she even put in highlights! (My hair is thick wavy and dark brown) it’s a hassle for me to manage but she’s PRO!
Thank you so much Allie! I will definitely come back again!
PS. Groupon peeps… Do not be afraid. They did not over charge me and they were friendly even when I told them I had a Groupon: D

I have been going to «MY» for 13 years when she was with Roberta Schneider’s Skin Clinic on J Street. Now MY has moved into the Mosaic «family» as a skin care specialist in her own right! Anyone who remembers Roberta knows she was the first person to bring skin care to Sacramento over 40 years ago. She was the premier skin specialist. Unfortunately she passed away a couple of years ago. Fortunately, MY trained under Roberta for 13 years and now has her own business. She does not do «facials»…she does «skin treatments» Big difference. And if you want to experience real skin treatments, I encourage you to book an appointment. She has a large, loyal clientele who have followed her for years. She does more than slather lotion and massage your face. Anyone can do that and call it a «facial». Extraction, extraction and more extraction. Gets all the black and white heads out of your face leaving everything so clean, bright and glowing! She does kids too! I have a few friends who have brought their teenagers in for skin evaluation/​treatment. OMG… incredible what she does for these teenagers skin. No one I have ever been to does extractions like she does. No one! Yes, she has products she uses. We buy a few of them we really love. MY uses only the best products for your face and sells them only if you ask. No pressure ever! She tints my eyelashes, waxes my face and performs a skin treatment monthly. My splurge. ! No microderms nor peels performed here… thankfully! Just great skin care for a beautiful face even without makeup. In this day and age of diva’s and such… MY is a breath of fresh air. This talented lady is so sweet and honest. Every client who steps through MY’s door get first class treatment. I cannot imagine a world without her and my monthly skin treatment (cleaning)!!!

My stylist was Oksana and I has the groupon.
I wasn’t treated differently even though I had a groupon. I called and let them know when I made the reservation that I would be using it. They made an appointment for me for the next week (3 days before the groupon expired). If they really hated the groupon-​ers I think they would have told me that they were booked.
Anyway, Oksana was friendly and professional. I told her I wanted to donate my hair without giving her any prior notice, but she was happy to work with me. After chopping off 12 inches, she washed my hair and started styling. She asked how short I want to go, I said I didn’t care too much. Overall, I like my hair. The service was good. The place was clean. A groupon well worth the money, and a salon I plan to be a patron of.
Speaking to an older post that said Oksana cut off too much of her hair– I can’t really defend this. I’ve been there before –asked a stylist to take off an inch and like magic, 3 are gone. I’ve just altered my hair cut expectations, and if I want it a certain length, I say it several times, and show pictures.
Long story short– I recommend this salon and Oksana.

Its been 3 years since my last review of Mosaic Salon. In this time the salon has moved to a new location. I find the new space to be much more modern and up to date. Plenty of easy on street parking and also a private lot in the rear of the building. As always, some of Sacramento’s most talented stylists work at Mosaic. You can expect a world class experience from this salon every time.
My favorite stylist is Theo, he’s been cutting both mine and my mothers hair for almost two years now. We are both very happy clients of his.
Stop in soon and treat yourself to a day at Mosaic Salon, you will be happy you did!
