Mimis Cafe

If this review was just based on the food, for a chain restaurant, I would give it 5 stars. Unfortunately, it’s not just about the food but my overall experience at Mimi’s this past Sunday.
My boyfriend and I went to Mimi’s on 6÷12÷16 for our 2 year anniversary breakfast. I was extremely excited to be going to Mimi’s as I hadn’t been in 10 years and it had been a family favorite when I was little. However when we walked in, the front of house, a black haired girl, ignored us and began whispering to her coworker and giggling. Yes! Whispering — like full on, hand covering mouth, head turned sideways whispering. Meanwhile, some other guests walked in behind us and we all stood waiting to be acknowledged. I can’t stand when receptionists do this!!! It’s like the guests are inconveniencing you to do your job! When she finally remembered she was at work, she said our wait would be 10 – 15 minutes and kept giggling.
Luckily the smell of fresh muffins was enough to keep us around and when we finally got our food, we realized they had brought us the wrong crepes. Our server was kind enough to take the plate off our tab since the crepes we ordered apparently looked just like another crêpe plate but had completely different filling. The eggs Benedict were good and the new upside down pineapple muffin is to die for!
I hope Mimi’s gets a more mature front of house as it really sets the tone for guest coming in.

My girlfriend and I wanted to try to something new and this was a successful brunch! We were immediately seated and greater with smiles, our waiter Vicky (hope I spelled it right) was very loving and warming she even gave us complimentary muffins to go just for being first timers. I highly recommend the chicken and waffles, chicken was very tender and very fresh!
Keep it up and delicious Mimi’s Café!

If I can give this place zero star for my review, I would! My husband, brother-​in-​law and I came here on a Saturday around 11:30am for brunch/​lunch. We were seated in the front room. We sat for about 15 minutes with a waiter and waitress who clearly saw us looking around to order, but no one greeted us not came by to give us water. The worse part, the waiter was waiting on the booth sitting next to us and he didn’t turn around to say anything to us at all! WTF?! What kind of service us this? Is it because we’re Asian? Is it because we looked young? Did you not think we can afford to eat there? Did you think we won’t tip well? Well, I got news for you! You just lost this set of customers forever ! Oh by the way, I always tip well (at least 20%) if you provide great customer service! AND I will be sure to let people via Unilocal and word of mouth to never ever come here. We left and walked out. On our way out, I made sure to tell the hostess what happened.
Do not come here unless you want to be discriminated and sit there without service! We went to the Cheesecake Factory instead and service was FANTASTIC!

My sorority sisters had a dinner party there. The service was great and so was the food, as always. I have been to the Folsom location also & we got the same great service & food.

Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere, esp if you’re a group. We made reservations for 12 a week before. End up waiting 45 minutes. Girls up front apologetic but zero hospitality while we waited. No updates unless we walked up to ask. Manager nowhere to be found. Food was below standard of your typical Mimi’s fare. My wife’s pot roast was overcooked. My in-​law ordered a salmon salad and got a grilled salmon. Waited some time to get the right order. What a mess for our family get together.

My family enjoy’s the fresh food, pleasant environment and the especially friendly service at Mimi’s. We are members of Mimi’s E-​Club which gives us a nice savings on any meal as long as we order a beverage. I can’t say enough about how great Mimi’s is, you just need to try it for yourself!

The worst service I have ever experienced my waiter was so racist me and my boyfriend were the only inter racial couple and she watched mine and my boyfriends every move and even told other waiters to watch our table she sat our check at the table at the same time as our food and then once we paid she told the other waiter we paid! Then I called the manager that night cause it bothered me all day and I talked to her about everything that happened she took down all my info and said she would mail me gift cards to apologize which I never asked for or needed but now 3 weeks later I have received anything that is horrible service I will never go here again I’ve been going to mimi café for 10yrs or more!

Came here on a Thursday around 10am, it was not empty but not busy. We were a party of 5 and we were seated right away. We all ordered breakfast. I got the Ham and Swiss Crepes and it came with potatoes… it was delicious. My friends got the avocado Omelette and the waffles etc… they all enjoyed their meals. Service was great, food was delicious, everything left me wanting more. I will be coming back for breakfast and to try their lunch and dinner options.

We went last night for a friend’s birthday. We had a party of 9 including 2 toddlers. My 3 y/​o niece was dressed in a mini mouse dress and the waiter Matthew, came out kneeled down and bowed to her and said she was a princess. She immediately got shy and buried her face in my arm. Haha He was awesome. A bit hyper at first but kept the energy flowing with our group. He asked everyone for the drink orders then was back in a flash to take our food orders and deliver drinks. He brought out baskets of bread then our apps. My sister and I ordered the brie appetizer, it was good. I had the French pot roast. So yummy, I wanted to lick my plate clean haha. My niece and nephew got adorable puppy pancakes (breakfast is served all day) The food was really good. I will definitely go again. If you’re a newbie let them know and they will give you a free muffin to go. OMG so good, I had it for breakfast. At the end of our night, Matthew was sweet enough to walk us to our car and carried my friends birthday gifts so we could carry our leftovers.

Love this place. Friendly, a homey feel, and great food. Sometimes you have to wait a few minutes to get a seat as they get busy. I love their sandwiches and chicken parmesan. Sign up for their emails and they send you «buy one get one free» meal coupons. What a deal! Wish they didn’t close the one in Natomas.

Really enjoyed my first visit to Mimi’s. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it. The mimosas were especially good.

Went downhill. Half of blue cheese walnut lettuce black and spoiled. Told waitress and showed her. Seemed indifferent and then said she would let them know. She wouldn’t clear the table until I asked her to. Mt husband sint like his meal. We’ve always been fond of this location. But that was our last visit. Make sure you don’t get the Asian waitress. She gives terrible service.

I always love Mimi’s and this is not my first time at this location, but they seemed to be a bit standoffish due to the fact that I am not Caucasian. We were getting a lot of dirty looks by customers and our waitress was polite but she definitely treated us a little less than others. I was quite surprised because Sacramento is diverse and especially the area we were in.

I love Mimis café!!! This is one of my favorite place to go for breakfast. I wish I discovered this place sooner. Restaurant is very clean and elegant looking. Service is awesome and their food is pretty good. Always busy in the morning but it really worth the wait. I’ll be back again and again and again.

Went here for breakfast this morning. It was a little busy — nothing crazy — ordered eggs and ham breakfast. — they brought out our breakfasts and then said the toast will be right out — it never came out — we were given our check — I asked the waiter to remove the cost for the toast since I never got it — he said that he couldn’t do it because it was included in the breakfast — and I said but I never got it and it shouldn’t be fair that I should have to pay for something that I never received. He told me he was sorry but there was nothing he could do except bring me the toast or a muffin.
I know It seems so silly — but $ 36 for 2 people to eat breakfast and get that type of response just turned me away from the place

Mimi’s is one of my favorite places for lunch. Their Cobb salad is 5 star, but sadly the service can be 1 or 2 stars at times. Their house wines are good and they pour you a decent amount of vino. Sign up for website and you will receive a BOGO coupon every week via e-​mail. Can’t go wrong with that deal!

I came in on a busy Wednesday morning. I have never been there before and so you can imagine my surprise that there was a wait on a Wednesday morning. And no, it was not a holiday and kids were in school. I knew then that I was about to get a delicious meal.
I sat at the bar. Let me tell you… this bartender was swamped and working her butt off!!! Since I had never been before I asked her to recommend something for me. She said to get chicken and waffles. And boy am I glad that I did!!! Seriously SERIOUSLY so good.
The waffle was crispy but soft. The chicken was what really took the dish to another place. Mmm-​mm-​MMM!
I also had a bloody mary which was a perfect compliment to the meal!

Great casual lunch spot on a Saturday. Plenty of parking. Pleasant staff from the door greeter to our waiter to the manager. I invoked their BOGO coupon (sign up for email deals) so the manager came over to confirm & approve its use.
I ordered the western reuben, which substituted turkey & ham for pastrami. Tasted great. I added mustard. It doesn’t come with a pickle tho.‘
My friend had waffle with egg & turkey sausage. .all day breakfast here. Yay!
I’m still a fan.

I wanted to like this place so much more than I did. Service and ambiance were great, but the food is sadly lacking.
We stopped in here because the nearby IHOP had a long wait. At Mimi’s, we were seated right away, but were given lunch menus despite it being 11am on a Saturday.
Luckily, our waiter was accommodating and got us the breakfast menu. The server was probably the most enjoyable part of the experience, and he entirely earned Mimi’s the three stars for this review.
The food was… mediocre at best, and this is coming from an IHOP standard. My friend got the corned beef hash eggs benedict. I got the strawberries and crème waffle. Both were lacking in the flavor department; edible, but nothing to write home about. I wouldn’t recommend the waffle: the «strawberries» were preserves and there wasn’t any «crème» in sight.
Overall, we spent about as much as we would’ve at IHOP, but enjoyed our food less and felt like we got less portion-​wise.

I’ve been to many Mi Mi’s Cafés and this one was just ok. The server was blah, but the red headed male bartender was a character and very courteous (and the reason I upped the stars on this review). The rest rooms needed attention too.
As for the food, my date and I both ordered the ½ tuna melt sandwich ½ Cesar salad and they were great! We took the bread home to snack on later because it’s good!
I like the consistency of Mi Mi’s because each one is a similar experience.

Wirklich super. Mimi’s Café ist ein gelungene Fusion aus amerikanischen Diner und Café mit frischen Croissants, fantastischen frischen Muffins, Omelettes usw. und frischem (!) O-​Saft. Freundliches Personal bei fairen Preisen. Alles picobello sauber. Und die Mall natürlich direkt um die Ecke. Auf jeden Fall eine Abwechslung nach dem x-​ten Denny’s.
