Mercado Tree Service

A tree had fallen from the back of my lot into my neighbors yard and I called around for estimates. Mercado tree service sent out Derek to give me an estimate. He was very polite and efficient and gave me an excellent quote.
I called them out to do the work and Derek’s crew arrived right on the minute! They completed the job quickly, cleaned everything up carefully, and even did a couple extra little things for me at no extra charge. I was extremely pleased and will certainly call them again.

Update: Now that’s customer service… I communicated with Sandy that there were a couple roots that were missed from the tree that was removed and was overlooked. As she promised the guys came back by my house and removed the roots the very next day. Thank you Sandy and your awesome guys! This deserved the 5 stars that I promised… I wish all businesses work like this with great customer services, no questions asked. I highly recommend Mercado Tree Service for all your tree removal needs.

Mercado Tree Service did a mediocre trimming job on my large oak tree but failed miserably on the majority of other trees they trimmed on my property, leaving them looking butchered and hacked up. In addition to the poor trimming job, their clean-​up effort was horrible with lots of twigs and even some large pieces of the branches left behind. The icing on the cake was that they filled up both of my green waste containers with their trimmings without my consent — when I confronted the foreman about this, he made a lame excuse about their truck was full. I also found out later that they had used my neighbors green waste container as well.
Needless to say, I will not be calling them back in the future when I need my trees trimmed.

They did show up when they said they would at my tenant’s house. However they did not take all the green waste with them and put the waste not only in my tenants trash cans but several of the neighbors and left their trash of bottles and cans. When I called John the owner and told him this he refused to believe me and implied I was lying. Luckily I had photos so he quickly changed his story. He did go back three days later and took all the green waste with him. The weird thing is that he didn’t seem to think it was a problem he left green waste behind in trash cans. Would not use him again.

Outstanding work and service. I texted pics of trees and stumps I needed removed, he provided a quote the same day. His work was thorough and quick and I really appreciated how nicely he cleaned up. I will definitely use Mercado Tree Service again. Great job.

John and his crew have been to my place on 2 occasions, today being the latest. First time was a year ago and he removed a very large oak tree that was breaking and would have come down over my neighbors living room. He removed the tree and ground the stump. Today I brought him back to remove a three trees against my fence line and trimmed all the neighbors trees that a huge canopy’s over my house in my back yard. Just like the first time, his crew came in and quickly and efficiently removed, trimmed, raked and removed all debris from my back yard, leaving the wood stacked for me to burn next winter! He’s always been reasonable and professional in his dealings with me and his crew friendly and courteous. I have recommended him to other neighbors who used him and they all spoke very highly of him and his crew. You could not go wrong using his service!

My husband and I were very impressed with John the owner and his crew. They did an awesome job trimming 7 of our BIG trees and taking out 2 of them and did it all for an affordable price!
They also cleaned up after all the cutting was completed.
I am now recommending Mercados Tree Service to my neighbors!

omg! I don’t know what the heck the guy Joe is talking about! these guys are greeeeeat! First off, they did a few bushes for free for me! They cleaned up very good, they were cheap! they had a safety meeting which I never see anymore! they are awesome! would highly recommend! Best really!

John and two of his guys came and removed a pine tree from my front yard, upon agreeing on a price, he said he could haul the limbs and smaller tree trimmings away, but the larger pieces of wood would need to be left behind. Which wasn’t a problem and I was ok with.
Well today (9÷04÷14) the City of Sacramento called me in regards to multiple reports of illegal dumping that had taken place around the corner from my house. Come to find out… they drove around the corner and ILLEGALLY DUMPED all the tree trimmings from my pine tree. I am now being fined by the City for illegal dumping.
I called John and asked him where the tree trimmings were dumped at and he claims South Sacramento. When I told him why I asked, he denied (surprise, surprise) dumping it in the field and basically told me there was no proof he did it.
Little does he know, there are MULTIPLE neighbors on my street that called and reported the illegal dumping, as well as gave the business name and contact information off the side of his trailer. So good luck denying it!
Oh and in case I have to say this… no, you will NOT be coming back to trim the trees in the backyard.

They are currently cutting down five large palm trees from my house. The guys move FAAAAAAAAAAST. Three trees cut down in less than two hours. Amazing. I would definitely recommend these guys. While they were cutting the tree down in my front yard, someone came by to ask for a business card. I guess she liked what she saw. I am not sure about the reviewer down below. but they were on time, the got the work done, and they were pretty friendly. I didn’t spend too much time outside in the heat (sorry guys) to hang out and chat, but when they talked to me they were very professional and nice. Plus they came all the way out to Tracy. Definitely a win! Would highly recommend!

So I found these guys on Craigslist. I texted photos of my four tree stumps I needed grinding and he replied back with a quote. He said he would call back at 3pm to schedule. He never called back. I texted at 7pm to see what was up. He said he would be over the next day to do the job at 3pm. 5pm comes and goes. I text him to see what the deal is. He says he can do tomorrow at 9:30. He shows up a little after 10. Takes a look at my four small stumps and doubles his price. I show him his quote on my phone. He says he has to go do another job. That’s it, he left. No sorry, no explanation. If the customer service is any reflection of his work, I’m probably better off.
