First time shopping here. Clothes are cute, and I would defiantly buy again. But! There customer service stinks. Rude, Rude, RUDE!

Madewell? More like, MadeSubPar. I don’t know what’s with this store, but the customer service and quality is a lot worse than the LA store I’m a regular at. One instance was during Christmas when I was trying to get a tshirt on sale, went to go buy it, and the platinum blonde haired lady told me it wasn’t on sale without even looking at the tag. I was severely disappointed when she didn’t bother to check, told me it was marked wrong, and rudely told me off shortly after. I walked away disgruntled, and stopped out the shop to check if said item was on sale on their website. Guess what? It was! For the exact same price. I hurriedly went back in, grabbed the item, and showed her that it was on sale online. Not only did she NOTAPOLOGIZE, she tried to tell me that I was wrong. She stubbornly told me to just order it online since she wasn’t willing to give me the discount in store. Her exact words were«If it’s on sale online, you won’t get the 30% discount on top of that like you do in the store.» WTF? Why not? It CLEARLYSAYS that there is an extra 30% off sales ONLINE. She eventually just gave it to me, still no apology, and rolled her eyes when I finished checking out. RUDE. One of the worst customer service experiences of my life. Only giving this 3⁄5 stars because I recently had go return a pair of 1.5 months old jeans that had already RIPPED(kind of ridiculous for their price) and the nice lady at the front gave me a full refund. Don’t shop here when the platinum blonde lady is working, she’ll make you feel like an unwanted customer and treat you like one.

The clothes are nice and good quality but I will never step foot in this store again. I walked in and was not greeted at all, the phone rang and out came a sales associate who looked me up and down and dos not acknowledge me at all. «How rude!» which I said out loud and left. Good quality clothes will make me buy something; however, good customer service will keep me coming back. Smh

I was SO excited when I saw Madewell(the formally online only store) was coming to the Arden Fair Mall. I was even more excited shopping at the mall one day and seeing that the store was open! Madewell’s sister store is JCrew so you always know you are getting something quality and on trend. The store feels a lot like a JCrew inside as well with wooden floors, wood hangers and a minimalistic approach to the clothing displays. I walked around the store and was offered help by a few associates which was nice. As I started to look around I noticed(and one of the sales associates confirmed) that the clothes run large. I would say they run very large with an XS being more like a Medium at other stores. Unfortunately this didn’t work out for me. I picked out two shirts I liked and went to try them on and they were huge! I couldn’t fit into anything in the store. The store sells great clothing if you are not a petite(by petite I mean thin, not necessarily short) person who is able to size down because the clothing is sized large. They did have some nice accessories inside like socks, bags, jewelry and scarves so I might go back again to check those out instead of the clothes.

I walked into this shop earlier this afternoon after seeing something cute in the window. The blonde sales associate looked right at me with a bad attitude. No smile, no greeting. So I look at a few items thinking one of these two girls working here will say hello to me soon. Well I was wrong. Completely ignored me after looking right at me. If you are going to charge that much for fashion, you better have the good customer service to back it up. A simple hello goes a long way, I spent my money elsewhere.

Let’s first start with the fact that these clothes are actually quality and the name says it all. MADEWELL! I mean you get what you pay for. Do you want a cheaply made shirt or do you want something that will last a life time and perhaps still be stylish in a couple years? That is what I am going for most of the time. I recently purchased a beautiful embroidered top and the material used are natural fibers and the fabric is thick enough so that it will last. almost could pass for a flax type fiber. So good! Highly recommended and the staff are really helpful.

I love this place. Their clothes are timeless, quality, and … expensive. Gosh, their clothes are expensive and their jeans are glorious. My hips don’t lie, and my waist doesn’t usually fit the same proportions as my hips and butt. The jeans are awesome and hug every curve. It sounds like a commercial but it’s true. The problem is, they don’t seem to carry larger sizes. I’m a size 27 and I have to dive to the bottom of the jean pile to get it, which makes me think they don’t cater to the slightly more fluffy crowd. The sales associates are cool too, always willing to help and very friendly. Oh and they’re currently and indefinitely offering a 15% off discount on your entire purchase with a college ID. Oh, and if you bring in old denim(any brand), you get $ 20 off 1 pair of their denim. Dope!

First to review? Don’t mind if I do. I wasn’t sold on this place initially. My bestie is obsessed with it and I would follow her in and as I typically dress rather loudly, nothing would really strike my fancy. Until this past Saturday that is. The prices are a bit much, but the clothing is high quality and often on sale if you make your way to the back of the store. I’m giving five stars because of the customer service we receive here every time we come in, but especially this past weekend. I found a pair of heels in blue suede, with a black leather heel and leather interior, for a steal of a price. So, I fell in love with the shoes. I’m a girl. It’s what I do. They’re beautiful. They didn’t fit and they didn’t have my size. The sales lady did not give up. She was polite but kept offering me options and patiently waiting for my decision. She brought me two pairs to try and she called other stores to look for my size. I ended up purchasing the shoes in my size from a store in Texas. She set the call up her self, and I ended up getting 40% off, and not paying a cent extra for shipping. It came out to $ 53 for a beautiful pair of stilettos made with genuine leather. I would call this a place to find hidden treasures if you look hard enough. And with sales associates that probably have psychology degrees with how well they can read you. Merci beaucoup, Bien Fait!

I have recently discovered Madewell in S.F. and am not a big shopper at this store because the prices are usually on the higher end, but now that this store opened in my local area, I would pop in once in a while to see if I could find any goodies. This store kinda reminds me of J. Crew, but probably targets a younger crowd. Definitely has some cute stuff in there, but I would never buy anything full price. I wasn’t looking for anything particular, but I ended up buying 2 sweaters from their sales rack that were 40% off. Considering this is more of a higher end store, the items I bought were at a pretty good price. Quality of the clothes are pretty good(depending what you buy). I’m in love w/my sweaters — made out of real wool, but not itchy on the skin. I find that the girls working at this store are a little more attentive and helpful than the ones in the S.F. store. The S.F. Madewell is always crowded, hectic, and the girls don’t even bother to greet or look at you. However, the one in Sac is a little calmer and the girls working there know your existence. I do wish that the store is bigger because it does feel a bit cramped, but I guess that’s the layout of every Madewell store. I will definitely go back to this store, especially when they have big sales.
