Meet the Business Owner

Kari S.

Business Owner

Kari Shipman is a fashion stylist,

community activist and a proud Sacramento native.

She’s working to make her city a better place to live,

and using fashion as the vehicle to get there.

Since starting Juniper James in 2009, Kari has worked with other community leaders and organizers to put on charitable fashion-​focused events and worked to promote and develop Sacramento boutiques and designers. Her internship program gives fashion students a caring mentor who provides hands-​on learning experiences, while teaching them positive business ethics and responsibility.

In addition to styling her clients in locally designed pieces and from locally owned boutiques, she also embraces secondhand, and stresses the importance of eco-​conscious choices.

Local television, print media and social media have embraced Kari as a sharp, well-​connected fashionista with a big heart for her community. She is a wife, writer, musician, mentor, film fanatic, and above all, a lover of people.
