Jaimie Scott Dog Training

I really enjoyed working with Jaimie! He is super professional and friendly, and his rates are very reasonable. I contacted him after my 2 year old lab Shar Pei was in need of some long overdue basic obedience training.
I like that his approach focuses on teaching dog OWNERS methods and behaviors to improve their dogs’ behaviors. After working with Jaimie I have the tools to get my dog to do what I want her to do as opposed to whatever she wants to do. In just 3 concise sessions Jaimie taught me ways correct my dog’s problem behaviors which gave me immediately noticeable results. She has continued improving as we continue to practice all the things he taught us.
Jaimie provides tons of training resources and reference materials on his website and in review PDFs that he sends after each session. He makes himself very available for questions and is quite prompt with is email responses.

we are extremely satisfied with the results we have gotten after a couple sessions with Jaimie and continue to enjoy the progress as we continually employ the different techniques Jaimie taught us to address our concerns with our dogs. we had originally planned on having Jaimie help us with a new dog Jäger which we had for a couple months when we decided to work with Jaime but ended up asking him to help us with our other dog as well. our new dog Jäger was aggressive and unpredictable with visitors to our home, uncontrollable on leash and would run away any time there was an opportunity while our other dog Cassius had never been good on a leash and could be skittish around some people.
After working with Jaimie over the course of three sessions, we are thrilled at the progress we have seen. we can now have guest over with out worrying about what we will do with the dogs, walking them in the morning has become a positive experience without them pulling and Jäger waits at an open door where a couple months before she would have sprinted out. we recently took our dogs to a pet friendly beach which would have not been possible prior to our training sessions.
I really enjoyed Jaimie’s style of training you as the dog owner rather then training your dog which made sense to me since we as owners are the ones who will live and need to interact with our dogs. we would definitely recommend Jaimie to any dog owner.

I also cannot say enough good things about Jamie. We were pretty lost trying to deal with some dog aggression issues when we contacted Jamie. I think the surprising thing that I learned, was that the training was not for the dog, but for ME! We had to put a lot of work into staying consistent with the training and the pinch collar (which I was not a fan of before I realized it’s purpose) both have helped tremendously. In 3 sessions, we have made enough progress that we comfortable working on our own now, but I know we couldn’t have got here without this training. I would definitely recommend his services to anyone looks for dog training.

I cannot say enough good things about Jaimie! My husband and I were getting no where training our very reactive and leash aggressive dog. I was having to walk him very early in the morning or late at night to avoid seeing any other dogs.
Our first session was so informative and really helped us to understand how to work better with our dog. Jaimie walked us through the basics and helped us to see why Gus was reacting the way he was. Since then we have had 3 more training sessions and with each one we see continual improvement.
I really appreciate Jaimie’s kind but firm approach to dog training, I feel 100% comfortable with his methods. I would recommend Jaimie to anyone, he is the absolute best!

Jamie is awesome! We did classes, videos, training at a dog resort and nothing worked as good as what Jamie taught us is 3 sessions. We had 2 dogs at the time and he covered any issues we had with them. We now have a new puppy and she is a charm due to the lessons Jamie taught us and the good behavior of our other two teaching her. So instead of fixing a problem we are able to redirect her before it ever becomes an issue. I highly recommend Jamie for anyone who wants a well behaved dog using positive training methods!!!

A few lessons with Jaimie is a must if you are or if you’re going to be a dog owner. You may think that what you can read/​watch on the internet is sufficient but it’s not the same. The lessons we’ve learned from him and worked on with our dogs are invaluable. We have a couple of great border collies who are happy, structured and well-​behaved. We get a lot of compliments on them when we go places and a big part of that is simply practicing the things Jaimie has taught us.

We called Jaimie after we tried to enroll our 10-​month-​old Golden in an intermediate training class. We had been through the beginner/​puppy series of classes (twice) before we moved to Sacramento. We had the basics down, but needed help with leash walking, pulling, and getting him to listen to our commands the first time we gave them. When we tried to sign up for an intermediate class elsewhere, we were told that we had to first complete their beginners class (and once again practice sit, down etc. for 6-​weeks and $ 180?!)!! So we found Jaimie on Google and gave him a call. He came to our house, and for 90 minutes he showed us how to interact with our dog at home in a way that gets him to respect us. It was exactly what we needed. He showed us how to give commands correctly so that we only had to say them once, helped us mark boundaries to keep our dog out of areas we didn’t want him (like the dining room when we’re eating or the entryway when we are greeting company), gave us activities to do that stimulate our pup mentally and physically, and talked us through a ton of other behaviors that we could easily change to reinforce to our dog that he takes the lead from us. After Jaimie left, he sent us an email that covered EVERYTHING he had gone over, which we really appreciated, because it can be hard to remember all the little things after and hour and a half of information. Now he have a reference guide on our fridge that we can easily refer to when we need a refresher. It was exactly what we needed and with our knew knowledge we are immediately seeing results! We couldn’t be happier.

Working with Jaimie has been a pleasure! In just 3 sessions, he was able to solidify the basic elements necessary to train my puppy to follow my lead. His techniques are not overly aggressive and focus on consistently sending your pet clear messages that you are the pack leader. This philosophy is one that I believe in wholeheartedly. As my puppy and I continue to work on the basics, I already see other behavior issues resolving themselves. Additionally, Jaimie clearly cares about my puppy; he quickly answer emails or phone calls when I have questions and follows up to see how we are coming along.

I absolutely love Jaimie Scott! He has been a reliable and professional dog behaviorist/​trainer when our two dogs (two huge 100lb+ akitas) certainly came in with behavioral issues. He was able to handle the situation with ease and easily received the respect from the dogs who seemed to act like award winning model dogs with him present. These dogs had been in the shelter custody for a substantial number of months and I didn’t know how many additional behavioral issues they would have with the lack of exercise and socializing, but Jaimie stepped in and knew exactly how to decompress them from this situation. He was calm, collected, timely and professional. Thank you Jaimie!

Our rescue dog, Dug, had been with us for a few weeks that were hell. We were at the end of our rope. We were doing all the «Dog Whisperer» stuff, but nothing seemed to work. Dug was a nervous pee’er and appeared to be under stress. When he relieved himself on my wife’s leg that was about the last straw. We heard about Jaimie and decided that Dug would go back to the shelter if things didn’t change. One session with Jaimie and Dug (and his owners) were on a new course. Needless to say Dug is now happy and a big part of our life. We can’t say enough good things about Jaimie and his methods.

I asked Jaimie to help me with some in-​home behavior issues I was having with my one-​year old lab. We met at my place and Jaimie established that all these behaviors were rooted in the fact that my dog doesn’t know that I’m the alpha — but my dog definitely understood that Jaimie was the alpha! That day, he taught me how to establish that relationship and I haven’t asked Jaimie for any more sessions because I don’t think we need it! Within a couple of days of Jaimie’s visit, my pup and I had a whole new relationship and we’re both much happier because of it. I recommend Jaimie to any dog owner in need of training advice. And his prices are so reasonable!
