I’ve got my tattoos done by Freddy and he did a great job. It’s just sad that they closed this shop. Does anybody know where Freddy is at now? I wanna get more tattoo done and I want it done by Freddy.

Everyone knows Freddy is busy so why would someone wait two weeks to get called back about a tattoo lol if it was that serious you would just go I’m and talk to Freddy urself. I have almost all my work done from here. Full sleeve my back and legs. I’ve tried everyone out n there they are good but I have to say Freddy is the best I only go to him now. He did all of my tattoos better than I expected they could even come out!

Wow, I can’t believe that I have to write an update for Heavens Gate that is a negative one. Okay, first let me state that my main man, Jacob, has relocated to another shop in Auburn and has nothing to do with this update. Now, here is where it gets disappointing. My dad wants to get another tattoo and since he and I received such awesome work from Jacob, he figured Heavens Gate would be the place to go for more work. Once he found out that Jacob left, he thought he would go with Freddy(the owner), since people said that he does good work. Well, my dad went into the shop and showed Freddy what he wanted. Freddy told him that he would draw up the design and then call that night to talk about it. Well, he never called. My dad didn’t think it was that big of a deal. But how about when two weeks go by and my dad has to call the shop and find out what’s going on? What was even MORE disappointing than this is the fact that when my dad called back, one of the other guys answered the phone and told him that Freddy was busy with a client and would call him about the design later. Well, what happens? STILLNOCALLBACK. It has been days and my dad hasn’t heard anything back from Freddy. In my opinion, that’s very unprofessional and a little rude. I would think that a tattoo artist would be a little more on the ball than that and actually call their potential clients back(especially if they remember who you are!). Oh well, sucks for Freddy. I just can’t believe that he never called my dad back to even apologize for not getting in touch. My dad has decided to go with a different(and more attentive) tattoo shop. Peace out, Heavens Gate!

I have probably been tattooed about 10 times there, from nearly everyone that has worked there. I love the guys in the shop. It is one of a few places that a girl can go by herself and feel completely comfortable. The guys in the shop will quickly become your new BFF;) Oh and not to mention the tattoos are always beautiful pieces of art. I have to keep my wallet full of cards, because I am constantly getting stopped and asked where I got my work done. It may not be a big name shop in Sacramento, but the art speaks for itself and is a place to go for great artists, great atmosphere, great prices and a great experience:) Oh and the shop owner(Freddy Chavez) he sings!!! lol

I have 3 tattoos from this joint already and am working on a half sleeve. An old friend contacted me a few months ago to let me know that he was tattooing here and I jumped at the chance to get some work done. I’ve got some Greek mythology on my forearm and the Bogeyman and Frankenstein on my upper arm(the beginning of my half sleeve). The artists here are really wonderful, they’re all very down to earth and don’t think they’re cooler than everyone else(or if they do, they don’t let you know it). We’ve all been to that place where the person who’s supposed to greet you almost makes you feel stupid for being there or put out by having to help you, you won’t get any of that here. The guys are very talented, so if you don’t know exactly what you want, but don’t want to pick something out of the book, they can draw you up something fabulous. The owners wife is most likely to greet you when you walk in and she has a great smile that seems very genuine and makes you feel very comfortable. The artists can be a little goofy sometimes, constantly making fun of each other and playing practical jokes on one another, you’re sure to be entertained. Not to mention, you’re sure to catch Freddy singing along with a song or two and if he notices you noticing him, he’s sure to turn it into a parody that’ll at least make you crack a smile. Please don’t let this make you think they’re unprofessional, because that is not the case, they’re very clean and efficient and do really great work! My artist that does all my work is Jed Bueno, and I know Freddy does really detailed work as well, I haven’t seen Steve’s work but I’m sure it’s up to the same standards. The best thing about this place is that they pride themselves on being cost efficient, they charge by the piece and not by the hour so it’s definitely a find. They’re kind of easy to miss located in a tiny shopping center on Fruitridge just east of 65th sandwiched between a tire shop and an Asian market. Parking can be a challenge since the lot is very shallow, but if you ask me, that just makes this place a diamond in the rough, sort of a hidden treasure. If you want some great work done at a reasonable price, go see the boys at heavens gate! Feel free to tell them Raylynn sent you(only certain artists take credit, so you’re better to bring cash).
