History

Established in 1993.

The owner and his wife purchased this location 22 years ago. This was their second Shell Service Station. They now own three Shells, all have full service automotive shops attached. The owner has a background in automotive service and prides himself in keeping a clean, bright, safe facility that offers friendly staff, ASE trained technicians, and a very high level of customer service. I’ve been in the automotive business for 14 years, been with this company for over 8 years and at this station for over a year.

We pride ourselves in providing quality work, from ASE trained technicians at a fair price. We keep a very clean station and we even have an island attendant to help customers with air, fluid checks, tire repair or just pumping gas.

I had to get a smog certificate for my automobile and this station was recommended by a relative. I was happy to keep the business in my neighborhood. Everyone there was very nice and they didn’t talk down to me, as I have experienced in many automotive places. They told me it would take about 35 minutes and 35 minutes later, it was done. I would definitely go back.

I’ve been buying gas here since they opened. I like to support local businesses so I don’t mind paying higher prices than I can get elsewhere. Twice now I have had my gas purchase cut off before I was done. Once was for $ 50.00 and today it was for $ 85.00. I own 3 SUV’s and 2 boats. Unfortunately, it’s not like gassing up a Prius but I’m willing to pay to play. I told the cashier that if it happens a third time, I’ll take my business elsewhere. This totally negates the convenience of paying at the pump if I have to go inside to straighten this out. If you are afraid of theft, go cash only and see how long you stay in business.

This morning as I was standing at the pump, a young man walked right past me and gave the couple on the otherside a very warm greeting and then started to clean their windshield for them.
Once he was done, he bid them a warm farewell and walked right past me to go back into the station.
I asked myself, why no greeting? Why no warm salutations? Why isn’t my windshield being cleaned?
My only conclusion was that perhaps the attendant is racist. He definitely saw me watching him embrace the other customer.
I will never give this business another dime!!!
There is something fundamentally wrong with their practices…
I give them a negative 10 stars.

One of my tire valve stems ruptured on the freeway in the middle of the PM commute. Luckily, I keep a portable air compressor in my trunk and managed to limp over to Greenhaven Shell. Although I hobbled in 2 minutes before the garage closed, the fellas still took me in and replaced the stem. And to boot, they were extremely careful with my custom wheel. Thanks guys!

I believe there are only two things that should be taken into consideration while Unilocaling gas stations. A) Gas prices and B) chance of getting shot/​stabbed/​robbed.
A. Gas prices at this gas station are always high compared to market prices. I would say it’s about 20 – 30 cents above what the Sacramento average is there. Therefore this gets an F for inFlation. Granted this place is one of the few. Just had an epiphany, maybe because they are the only gas station in the radius of 2 – 3 miles, they can do whatever they want? At least you get quality gas here.
B. I go here with the confidence that I will remain intact as a human being after pumping da gas. No one will shot/​stab/​rob me and the chance of being solicited by the homeless for a dolllar will also be nonexistent granted we’re not in a down economy, but that’s whole different story…

I brought my car in yesterday due to a non-​working break light that my family and neighbors told me was out and not working. So, the first place that came to my mind for auto repairs was Greenhaven Shell. I’ve taken my car to Greenhaven Shell before and have always enjoyed my experience. The staff are always professional and helpful, from the auto mechanics to the cashiers to the nice young man who fills my car up with gas and washes my car windows (which brought back memories when gas stations had full service!). Both Larry and Steve gave me A+ auto repair service. They were knowledgeable, patient, and provided excellent customer service, even with the 100 degree temperatures! Larry called me as soon as my car was ready. Thank you Greenhaven Shell and staff for the great service!

We are from Reno and we came to visit Ikea and Old Sacramento. Unfortunately for us, we ran into some car trouble. On our way to Ikea, our check engine light came on and steam started coming out from under the hood. We were able to make it to the Greenhaven Shell. Thanks to manager Mark and mechanic Larry, they were able to find a solution to our problem. Our thermostat went out and they were able to replace it. Luckily after only a few short hours, we were back on the road and on our way. They took the time and effort to make sure we didn’t get stranded and they were very friendly. Because of their help, our trip was still a success. Thank you Mark and Larry for all of your help. We will definitely know where to go if we have car troubles in the Sacramento area again.

I pass by this gas station almost every day. It’s a little on the pricey side, but a convenient location for me. This is my go-​to place when I’m running on fumes and need some place CLOSE to home.

This gas station is awesome! There’s a staff there who goes above and beyond to fill up my gas tank! How awesome is that? I asked him why he does that and he says its because he’s being courteous and also it kills time. Wow! Didn’t realize there are still courteous gentlemen out there. Next time, I“ll be sure to look super cute!
The location is around a corner. It’s super small and its unfortunate that there’s limited food and drinks. If you need to grab snacks/​drinks, then you may want to drop by Grocery Outlet or the liquor store behind this gas station.
Other than that, the gas station is pretty clean. Surprising the bathrooms are clean.

Here’s the deal, I’ve lived in the area since birth, and I’ve used this Shell to purchase gas and propane countless times and for some repairs to a few of the cars I’ve owned. The gas is exhorbitantly high and the garage charges about one-​and-​a-​half times what you would pay for the exact, same, service, if you were to shop around. But still, I support this Shell, mainly because it has one quality that no other station has: it’s logistically convenient for me. That, and the people who work there are good people, namely Pablo, who works behind the counter, and Ray, the Service Manager.
Unfortunately, neither Pablo nor Ray works there anymore (at least I haven’t seen Pablo there in months). And the new Service Manager just lost my business forever for this location. He got really rude with me today in such a way that I don’t care how convenient the location happens to be. Gas is cheaper just about anywhere else, and there are too many talented mechanics around who are capable of doing their jobs with courtesy. I may pull in from time to time, just by force of habit, but as soon as I see this new Service Manager, I’ll remember what a dick he was on a day when I needed a small service, and I won’t not spend a cent of my hard-​earned money there.

This station is an A+ in my books. Besides being convenient for me, it is clean and the guys here are super helpful and nice (especially me being a girl and not knowing much about cars). Numerous times they have helped me with my flat tires, filling my oil and just general checking of stuff on my car. They don’t try to over charge me cuz I’m a girl. They give me advice when needed and just make me feel comfortable coming here not just for gas.

Greenhaven Shell is a full service station away from the freeway. I gave two stars because It’s well lit at night and a quick stop on the way home.
This Shell has a full-​service shop and at least 3 mechanics that work M-​Sat. I had my car repaired here for about 10 years with positive results. Ray was the shop manager. He would say hi when I came in or wave hello if I was just filling up the tank. If I had a question or needed my oil checked, no problem, done & no charge. Plus, they would drive you home & pick-​up while your car was in their shop. Now that Shell has a new manager, everything needs an appointment & costs $ 108 just to take a look. He doesn’t know my name, costs have gone up & getting a ride, forget it. It no longer feels like a neighborhood shop where the customer used to come first.

My parents live in the Greenhaven/​Pocket ‘hood (Sac) and one day while trying to leave their place and head home to mine (east bay) my nosy dad that routinely does a «walk» around my car to make sure his girl will be safe on the road goes «Jules, your front blah blah tire looks a little low» I’m like «Dad, I don’t wanna deal with needing quarters, filling up my tank…» No! he says, «this shell down the street offers free water/​air»
Truly, it is free. just press the button. I haven’t seen this at gas stations since I was a young kid. These days you have to fuel up your car or plunk in .75 cents to add a little air. Aside from this, you can also get mechanical check ups done here @ the repair shop or just fuel up on your way to I-​5.

Clean. Good location. Windshield washing stations are turned over and actually contain cleaning fluid (not just water). A full service station. The pumps are never down. No rock chip repair chumps who can’t take no for an answer hassling you while you pump your gas (

If the store were a little larger and if they had a car wash it would be five stars, easily. But it’s the best gas station in the area, and definitely the best Shell in the South Area.

While driving alone from Los Angeles to Central Oregon for a family wedding, the heater core blew out in my 1995 Isuzu Trooper. It was the middle of summer and the car was overheating badly. I called AAA and they recommended Greenhaven Shell so I had the car towed there. Because I had to be at the wedding the next day, and was just passing through, they went to work on my car right away and rigged it so that I had air-​conditioning and could continue my trip.
Ray, who I talked to, was so nice. He moved a bench into the shade so I would have a place to sit while waiting and looked up the cost of parts for me even though I would not be having the heater core replaced there. The cost for the work they did was reasonable. I felt well taken care of and was on my way soon, making it to the wedding on time. I feel that any woman driving alone will be treated with kindness and respect and can trust Greenhaven Shell when having car trouble.
