Golden 1 Credit Union

Iam on the phone to a smartass female by the name of Lindsay at the call center the time is 915 am and she has me on the phone for no reason asking to much info of my deposits
If I don’t make deposits she can’t help me
Hello Lindsay try social security number and drivers license for verification after you have asked my DOB and address and phone
And when I spell out the name she has the nerve to ask me to pronounce it because it was not acceptable
Lindsay you could not pronounce in English and your working at Golden 1 or is it that my name is MUHAMMAD that you being a smartass
I have already closed my account with Golden 1 and hope every customer closes their account and deals with a bank that is normal and does not employ smartasses with attitude early morning
Get a different job Lindsay if you can’t work with customers or take that smartass person outside of you who goes in early morning to make lives difficult for every person
If you all know why do you deal with people like this and allow the same individual to ruin lives

Worst branch ever. People sit at the teller and chat back and forth and don’t help the customers when there is a line. Only 2 of the 5 help customers with their transactions. Not sure what the rest are supposed to be doing.

I was overcharged at a restaurant and Golden One did nothing to help me. The waitress entered a different amount into the machine after I signed the receipt and I did not notice until I checked my account. The man told me that they would do nothing about it. I am grateful that the waitress did not write a much larger number and empty my account. Golden One sucks.

Good Lord, where do I begin?
I believe in credit unions over banks, but this credit union just sucks.
Credit unions offer better rates than banks. And they are about bringing people together to help each other. (whereas banks are about profiting off of you).
But between credit unions, the difference is pretty much just in service. And I’ve never been so frustrated with the service of a bank/​credit union in my life.
At the end of the day, It’s hard to understand how they get away with such bad service. My only guess is that they essentially have a captive customer base created by California state employees. So, there is no real incentive for them to operate efficiently.
Anyhoo, I’m going to move my direct deposit over to another institution. It’s such a hassle with all the automatic payments I’ve set up (something else maybe Golden1 is counting to keep customers tied to them). But its been such a long string of bad service (and even lost money when they completely screwed up a home appraisal) that I’m going to pull the plug.
If you’re thinking about where to centralize your banking, don’t do it here.

Finding out the hard just how much Golden 1 SUCKS… if you have fraudulent activity on your account, you are basically f@cked — they have no mechanism to help the customer or to flag their system with an alert to suspicious activity… even when accounts are suddenly being zero’d out. And if the fraudulent activity happens over the weekend, then forget it… you are COMPLETELY f@cked. I will be taking my business elsewhere, this institution can’t be trusted with money. They get 1 star only because Unilocal doesn’t allow 0 stars. :/

They have a coin processing machine at this location. It’s great if you have jars of loose change and want to cash it in.

If you’re thinking of coming here, make sure you have an open schedule and plenty of time. Make sure you’re the patient type as well.
This is by the slowest branch I’ve ever visited! 8 – 9 windows, but they never seems to have tellers more than 3. Of all the times I visited here, there’s never been a day when they had 4 tellers working.

Golden 1 has become the worst financial institution around, I guess because they are so big they do not need to provide good service. I have banked with them over 25 years but lately it is so bad. I have had nothing but trouble with them from going into the branch and the teller being more concerned with talking to the UPS man then helping members. They would not help me open a trust account and I have other accounts with them and they would not even looks at my documents and let me know what was needed to open the account, so I went to SAFE and they were delightful and welcomed my money and the opportunity to assist me and my family with all our needs. I write a check every week to our employee and that has been a nightmare if she wants to cash the check, I understand security but it is the same person every week for about the same amount the checks are in the correct sequence but they make it completely inconvenient. Today I called the Contact Center to order checks to the same address on the account and even that simple transaction was a horrible experience, I sure hope they don’t think they are too large to fail. I would think twice about opening an account.

Whatever you do, DO NOT USE THEIR COIN MACHINE. I had $ 8+ worth of dimes, pennies, and nickels, but the machine jacked all the silver and gave back only 23 cents. The machine counted 24 pennies, and the dimes and nickles did not register on the receipt at all. Minus a cent because I’m an account holder. BS.

I like this Golden1 branch. Most of the tellers are super friendly here. Since it’s a Golden1 branch, the line are normally long, but today I got lucky and there were only a couple of people in front of me. Today they have a table of snacks and water bottles for their members which I thought was nice of them. This branch also have a drive thru ATM which is convenient at night.

Great service and fast. They accept no appointment customer too. They also have a drive thru atm!

This is my ‘home’ branch. and I absolutely
cannot stand it! I get a bad vibe from the moment I drive up to it. I think the parking lot is laid out stupidly. There is not enough parking up front. It doesn’t matter what time of day or night or time of the month you come to this branch. plan on staying there for at LEAST 30 minutes or more! This is the main reason why I can’t stand this branch! I will spend the time and money to drive across town to ANY other G1 branch if I can when I happen to have an affair I can’t handle myself here. other than this. I’ve been pretty happy banking here. They’re pretty quick in fraud protection. I commend them for this. my only complaint with this bank is I wish they had later customer service ‘phone hours’ like bigger banks. I sometimes need help with resetting online stuff for online banking at night and the ‘call center’ closes pretty early (in my opinion). This will cause me to have to carry over the issue to the next day.(Then I have to hope I get time or remember to call in before 7 for it).it would be really nice if your call center was open until at LEAST 9 or even 10 pm. please consider it!

This location has a drive-​up ATM that’s beneath an overhanging roof which makes for a quick stop, especially in the winter. It also has two ATMs out front and often has a security guard on patrol who has kindly opened the door for costumers when I’ve seen him there. Sometimes, there seems to be too few tellers to keep up with the line during busier hours but on a few occasions now, I’ve been called back to and seated at a private desk by other employees so I wasn’t waiting for too long. The staff seems very friendly and very helpful, answering all of my questions and suggesting better ways to go about things.

Have to give this branch 5 starts plus the Customer Service Rep here handle my loan process so easy that, I had go speak with the branch mgr to say how well the staff treated me from the start of the loan to the finished process.
Yeah, no one likes dealing with banks trust me this branch has staff that make you want to express your appreciation on a job we’ll done…

Hi people of Unilocal.this will be my review for this particular branch.
I have been to this branch about a handfull of times and can honestly say that the service I have received thus far is pretty good. Customer service is everything when it comes to ME and that’s the bottom line.
Whether I make a call to golden 1 or show up in person (which is my first option) the service is nothing but professional, helpful and thorough.
Now i’ve banked with the other BIG boys like BofA, Wells, Chase, Merywest and none of them come close to the professionalism that Golden 1 offers and I have to say thanks to my fellow UnilocalER Todd G. for the recommendation to this CU.
Now the reason for the 4 stars is due to the following. I walked in and signed in because I needed to wire some money and of course there’s a form to fill out, as I’m waiting there, I notice one of the reps approaches the sign in booth and calls out a name, no answer, she calls out another name and no answer again, now when I signed in there were 3 people ahead of me or rather 3 names, so she calls out one more name and an older lady stands up for her turn. so now I’m next right! so I wait and then the rep comes and calls out another name which is not mine hmmmmmm and this other lady gets up and walks back with the rep, so I get up and head over to the desk and look at the sign in sheet and notice that my name was accidentally crossed out along with the lady that was before me, so I take the sheet over to the rep and let her know that my name was crossed out and therefore skipped so she quickly apologized and she guided me to one of the other reps so I can be helped.
As I’m walking towards the other rep she continues to apologize and asking if there’s anything she could help me with. I let her know that it’s alright and that I just need to wire some money and she apologizes one last time before I get to the desk and start the transaction with the other girl.
So now I get the form I need to fill out and well i get great service and help filling it out. Smiles all the way and very pleasant and easy.
It’s all about the customer service and it’s all good here at the Golden 1 for ME, and well the other review is from 6÷1÷12 and it really doesn’t give a description on the issue but there’s none here because it was handled beautifully.

I used to defend The Golden 1 Credit Union when my friends and co-​workers started leaving it. They would cite issue after issue and I thought the issues were my friends not the Credit Union. However now I see that the Credit Union is not about customer service or there for their customers. This place is ridiculous and if you stay here long enough you will be a recipient of this.
