History
Established in 1989.
Bob became licensed to offer securities and insurance while attending college (Series 1 & Series 63 in 1980). After college he got the Series 7 license in 1983, the Series 24 principal license in 1991, and the Series 51 license in 2003. He also holds a license in long term care insurance (2006).
In 1983 he became a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®).
In 1989 Bob started his own firm, Gibson Capital Management (GCM). Bob founded GCM with a goal to remain independent of the ‘half-truths’ spewed from the large Wall Street firms.
In 1992 Bob became a Certified Fund Specialist (CFS) from the Institute of Business and Finance.
In 1995 Bob completed his Masters of Science degree in Financial & Estate Planning from the College for Financial Planning, Denver, Colorado.
In 2007 Bob became a Certified Natural Health Professional (CNHP).
In 2009 he became a Temperament Certified Professional (TCP).
In 2012 he became a Certified Annuity Specialist (CAS).

Business Owner
Bob was born in France and came to the United States when he was four years old with his mother and step father who was serving in the military. At age 10, after his parents divorced, he moved to Mexico with his step father and sister. He lived in Mexico for about nine years and after graduating from high school at the American School Foundation in Mexico City he came back to the United States in 1972 for his college education.
The first college he attended was Mankato State College in Mankato, Minnesota on a football scholarship. Later, in order to be reunited and live closer to his mother in Southern California, he attended the University of California Santa Barbara. After that he attended Ventura College in Ventura, California.
In between colleges (1974 – 76) Bob served a voluntary two year mission for his church in the French Polynesian Islands and New Caledonia. He learned French and Tahitian to communicate with the people he served.
He volunteered as a Scout Master in 2008 – 2009.
