Don’t go to this clinic if you have trouble walking stairs. Oh and if you mind getting a ticket for parking.

This review is for a Dr here and not necessarily «Elica Health Center», My PCP quit and I was scheduled with Fikir Morkoc. Upon entering the room he did not introduce himself or say hello, he had a bad attitude and agressive demeanor and asked me «How did you find me», I told him I made an appointment and it was with him (the whole time im thinking um hello I don’t schedule patients) «I’ve never seen you before». I’m not sure what he wanted me to say or do, he tried to persuade me to not go on with the appointment because he wasn’t my PCP and couldn’t do anything to help me. Terrible service wow

I went to the this Midtown Elica office, and it was great. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Everything was clean and orderly. I did not give the full five stars because it did take a while, both times, for my appointment. Although I was seen right away, the appointments still lasted well over an hour.

Came up here to get copies of my medical records says on advertisements for this place that they open up at 8 am .
Well its 8:24 i walked up stairs all elica facilities are closed. I try to call nobody awnser.

I visited the West Sacramento location and the facility is clean so I can appreciate that.
I don’t like how they have security in their clinic. It makes me anxious and makes me question the type of crime they have had in the past to make them have a security guard sitting idle in their clinic.
I saw doctor Ganesan Venkatapathy. He was nice but that’s it. I showed up an hour early to fill out paper work, which was fine and expected, but he didn’t even look them. I know he didnt look at them because the questions I answered ‘yes’ to were never addressed, in fact he asked me all the questions i had already answered on their patient forms.
I left their office in the exact same condition I scheduled my appointment in.
I didn’t receive GYN services because Dr. V is an Indian male and ‘does not do GYN service. His wife does.’ I understood that but my medical needs should have been pre-​screened on the phone so my appointed date and time could’ve been scheduled around the time the appropriate party was present.
I spent an hour in a half there only to be sent to a lab that was no where close to their clinic and to CVS to get some ear drops. My ears could have been treated during the appointment.
The staff was nice. That’s all. They weren’t efficient, they weren’t advanced in medical equipment. They were just nice.

I have gone to Elica Health Center on J street for little over a year now for all of my over all health needs. Anytime you need to schedule an appointment, pay a bill, refill a prescription etc, you must go through a call center. Over all, the customer service of the people answering the phones is not great, but I have now cancelled all appointments I have here and switched to a doctor down the street, because of the repetitive disrespect I have gotten from a woman named Tonya in the scheduling department. I have gotten her many times when calling and she has never been polite. A doctors office should be friendly and make you feel safe. I also work at a medical office and would never even think of talking to one of our patients as she has continually done to myself. Last week was my last straw. I was in a urgent medical situation and she was NO help at all and on top of that she was EXTREMELY rude every time I called. I had to call back every other hour just to get any information at all and each time she answered she was more disrespectful.
Like I said, I have cancelled all appointments I had here and switched doctors due to the disrespect I experienced with Tonya. I would not recommend going here, simply to not deal with her.

Poor facility. Bad customer service. Never got to see the doctor I asked for nor received the treatments I went in for. Instead I felt like I was getting «upsold» on treatment I didn’t need. There are too many weird things that happened here that make me question whether the doctor was even an MD at all or just operating unethically. Save yourself the hassle… find somewhere else.

My family and I were patients years ago, and have had good interactions since. MediCal moved us, but we are trying to come back. One of my extended family is a patient to this day, she loves her doctor.
Minus one star for parking, because it’s a challenge.

Today My mother’s insurance denied her seizure meds and the pharmacy wouldn’t give her An emergency supply! I called the prescriptions department at Elica diana and Tanya helped us and called her insurance and got it covered for her for a year within minutes! I am so thankful!

I didn’t hate it but i also didn’t love it. My appointment was on christmas eve so everyone seemed to be in a rush and kept forgetting things. The wait was forever lol but then i am a new patient so ehh it’s understandable. The staff was friendly and helpful. I got what i wanted out of the appointment so I’m satisfied with my visit. My doctors cell phone kept goin off during the appointment.

Horrible. Doctor always rushes in doesn’t look at me. Asks me questions and interrupts
Me while I’m still speaking. I told him about a pain in my leg. He asks me how I feel? Is it tender, weakness, fatigue, does it lock up, etc. Yes yes yes. And then He asks me what kind of meds would I like. He didn’t look at my leg and he didn’t even touch it. I told him I don’t take take pills. You’re the doctor how about you prescribe me what’s best suits my needs. Lousy. I will be switching doctors as soon as it’s cleared. I don’t know about the other doctors in this building. I have heard good things about them but this doctor. «Doctor» MICHAEL GIBSON, FNP gives doctors a bad name. Every single time I came in he says ok what are you here for today. Well I here because you told me to come back to check on me but I’m treated like a nuisance.

I think I remember calling a few times and the phone not being answered. Other than that, I called back and was able to get someone later to make an appointment. The person on the phone was friendly and helpful and made the appointment for me.
Went in on the appointed day and time. Was processed quickly and efficiently and everyone in the office was really nice and working for me as quick as they could. Then I met with Dr. Jude Waterbury. My first impression was that he seemed very knowledgeable about medical issues and symptoms I was describing. I found him to be very intelligent. He took the time to talk to me without feeling rushed.
The 4 stars might become 5 as time goes on.

After waiting 7 months for an appointment at Wellspace, switched to Molina/​Elica. So impressed with everything at Elica. Friendly, efficient staff, and Dr. Sabin is knowledgeable and a fantastic listener. My nurse was so nice and cute too! Thank you

Debbie was amazing about getting me a next day appintment! Everyone else I called said they wouldn’t be able to schedule an appt. in less than 3 weeks.
When I showed up I waited only briefly. The entire staff, including Nancy and Dr. Babenko were all great!

3 stars because I don’t much care for the old facility and the ghetto people that seem to frequent there and the staff could be friendlier/​more competent. And the phone system is pretty deplorable when trying to make an appointment. I somehow went from caller #1 to caller #10 and still no one picked up after a long period of being on hold. The staff is pretty much a joke.
However, I LOVE Dr. Waterbury as does my mom who is also a patient. To the people complaining about him being «rude» and «arrogant» and whatever else, you guys are really just ridiculously sensitive and need to grow a thicker skin. First, yeah he’s got a sarcastic somewhat cynical sense of humor, but so do I so I guess that’s why we gel. Secondly, yes he’s a bit «smug» in his demeanor, but he’s a freaking doctor as well as extremely intelligent. It pretty much comes with the territory (speaking as someone who comes from a family of doctors).
What I love about Dr. Waterbury is that he takes his time with me. He doesn’t make me feel like I have to list off my problems ASAP because he has somewhere to be and making me have an anxiety attack from feeling so rushed like most doctors make me feel. He listens to me and is on top of things and gives me the referrals I need as quickly as I’ve ever seen. He genuinely seems to care about helping me and as a physician, that is something I desperately need in one. The place I was going to before took months at a time to see me and months at a time to get me referrals. Months that I could very well get worse in and die if I had a more serious problem.
I love Dr. Waterbury and I intend to follow him if he so happens to change locations.

The front desk never seems to answer the phone when I call. I’ve been trying to contact them for two weeks to have a form filled out for my job and no response to my voicemails or notes I left with the operator. I live in Orange County now so it’s incredibly frustrating that I have to physically walk into their office six hours away just to be attended to. Also, during my last appointment, I complained to my doctor about some abnormal ovarian issues & he proceeded to explain to me what a menstrual period was. I’m 22. I know what my regular period is; I also know what is not a period, thanks for the help.

I’m a current patient, and I have to say I’ve been quite pleased with the service I’ve received. I switched from another health group and community clinic, and the service I received with them was horrible. I’m glad I switched to Elica, and I appreciate the quality service I’ve received thus far. There has only been one scheduling mishap (I had appointment scheduled on a holiday), but it honestly was no biggie. The schedulers are human and sometimes make mistakes. I rescheduled my appointment and was eventually seen. The longest I’ve waited for an appointment opening is about 2 – 2.5 weeks, which seems pretty reasonable to me. They also have walk-​in times if you’re that sick. The staff are friendly, and I actually like my clinicians I work with (PA & LCSW). If I need a referral or prescription refills the requests are handled within a timely manner. The offices are up to date & clean, and they have accessible locations. Again, I recommend Elica Health Care!

Went there 2012 as it’s suppose be my primary care since changed over.
They refused me a tetanus shot saying that its not covered by medi-​cal or Medicare. I callled my medi-​cal they said yes it was covered and they tried call their office but they never called them back. So I went into the office and they said no I can’t be seen untill pay hundred dollars, even office supervisor came out agreed, that as low income person I did not have the money, I asked for supervisor and left message what was going on she never returned my call. Other clinics would not see me because I already had them as primary care provider. So I didn’t get tetatnus shot, horrible.
I got referral to their dermatologist link and they wouldn’t except medi-​cal hills and demanded money, I told elica referral lady she said she had no one else to refer me to, I couldn’t believe she said that either and she said she would call me back, she never did. I called her back quite a few times she said she was confused what was going on. I ended up begging another dermatologist to take me without a referral.
Around Jan 2015 went there and a tall man physician assistant saw me he was insultive to me three times. Last time I confronted him when he walked out around staff so they could hear, he denied and just walked away.
I believe elica center could be great potential, I read the story of lady who started it. I’m hoping they see this review with open mind and continues to improve and train employees attitudes. No clinic is perfect but having a good reputation in business is important.
I’ve never been so worried and dreading to return to a clinic,
I’m willing change this review if tomorrow they treat my ear with no insults and take my Medicare without charging me a hundred dollars.
Update I called back this morning the lines were just a recording and she told me Day before call first to get walk in. So all night I was in pain ear, So I walked downtown and found another clinic told them bout my ear they took me immediately. I’m changing doctor offices and hoping elica will take serious these complaints and who is running their business.

This place is awful. Please do them a favor and find another health center. Service is horrible as stated. System was down so they could not assist my mother. Front staff seem more interested in chitchatting. And even the doctors look and act miserable. Low income health centers do suck, especially this one.
When I first came here, the lady at the desk had a rude tone and was talking rude to an elderly lady who had questions.
Had an appointment but my mother was not seen for two ½ hrs. When the doctor did see her, he seemed rushed and his tone was rude as well. My mom is dependent on her medication because she refuses to have surgery.
I get better luck at an urgent care tbh, and the urgent care was able to dianose her problem. My mother has a broken hip and osteoporosis.

I have been waiting for almost 4 weeks to be referred to a dermatologist. I call and the phone wait times are excessively long only to be told something that really makes no sense as to the delay in being referred out. In the meantime my condition is worsening, I’m running out of medications and I am VERY disappointed in the care I’m not receiving.
If you are deciding on what primary care provider to choose stay away from this place… if I had other options I would sure use them.
UPDATE: I’M FREE FROM THE CLUTCHES OF ELICA HEALTH. I get to go back to my favorite health system that I’ve been going to for 9 years. I’m so thankful!
