De Los Santos Tree Service

I have not used De Los Santos Tree Service for cutting my trees. This review is of the company’s character, their employee’s character, and their employees’ unlawful activities.
I live in a quiet neighborhood in Sacramento. A few times a year we will have fliers or business cards from tree trimming companies on our front door. I am completely okay with this. Recently, I started working from home and my office has a view of anyone coming to the front door but many people don’t notice that I can see them. On the week before before Christmas I see a man walking to our front door but he didn’t see me. So I went to the front door and watched him through the peep hole. I expected him to knock on the door but instead he dropped a business card on the ground and then proceeded to look through our mail box and look for packages around our front porch.
I opened the door and asked if I could help him and he just said to call them if I needed a quote to cut our trees and walked away.
They might want to remember that mailboxes are federal property and looking through someone’s mail box is a federal offense.
I know that I would not trust this company or it’s employees around my house to cur my trees. The name hand written on the card was Jorge Henderson.

Things I liked:
— Specific branches I wanted cut got cut.
— The firewood was cut for the most part.
— Cleanup was done for the most part.
— Triming of branches so I could walk under the tree was done.
— This company had the lowest price of all estimates.
Things not done:
— Lighten the tree and remove dead wood.
Things that could have been better:
— Wait for me to return before declaring it done and packing up.
— I picked up some lunch wrappers left on my back porch.
— They filled up all my green waste cans. I don’t know why since they had
a big truck with a wood chipper.
I recommend De Los Santos for a clearly defined task like removing a tree.
This kind of task is clearly done or not done.
I would not recommend them for a subjective task like
«lighten the tree and remove dead wood» where the completion is debatable.
Supervise.

We decided to go with this tree service after we had gotten several estimates from a few bigger known tree service companies. We had a very large maple tree that needed to come down, it had very large branches growing over the house and very large roots messing with the sewer pipes. De Los Santos came in at a VERY reasonable price and they had it completed in one day which amazed me because they’re a small family business without the large equipment. They were very professional and moved very quickly. I would recommend them to ANYONE who’s looking for a great tree service company.
